Good review. At this price point, hydraulic brakes, front suspension, wider tires, turn signals, 500W motor and a more stable frame appear to make the Mooncool TK1 a great value. Your welcome. As for the parking brake, the brake levers can be changed out. Also, someone else mentioned there's a brake lock that can be purchased online. Last resort is strong rubber band or small velcro strap.

I also love all the colors it comes in. It sure makes tight turns. I got dizzy with all the turning you did in your driveway. LOL. It is nice it is so stable.
Agreed. Torque must be higher than 43nm, but its not made for big hills I don't believe. Atl east the parking brake issue could be resolved by replacing the brake lever with one that has the parking brake/lock button.
Great review, Richard. You do such a nice job with these. I just received the Mooncool TK-1 Folding trike about 2 weeks ago and already have 130 miles on it. I love the trike. The newer ones now come with parking brakes on both the front and rear brakes. That's a feature I use every time I ride the bike to park it. They work very effectively. It also has a cruise control now so I can ride it at the fastest speed (15.6 mph for mine) and not have to worry about keeping up the fast pedaling. The front sprocket is 36 tooth which works very well for riding it without power. It's almost like 2nd gear or 3rd on a conventional 10-speed. Once again, thank you for your professional review.

I can not get the park brake to set on the front brake of one of the trikes. Have you done any videos about adjusting the brakes? I would really like to see a video before starting.

Do you know of anyone who has changed the crank sprocket and to what size? I would like to have some pedal resistance in each pedal assist; not necessarily increase in speed. Good question. I am not aware of anyone yet. Mrs Adventure can't pedal much so she is happy with how it performs so I wont be changing ours. If you add a crank that has another 4-6 teeth it should make a big difference.
a nice trike! yeah the parking brake might be missed. Id miss the ability to shift - * Oh Thank you for the oily rotor mention. that put me into the habit of cleaning bike rotors on mine. many suggested isopropyl alcohol (less residue) I tried that and it is a great cleaner. on a paper towel it wiped off grease & grim I didnt notice [on new rotors] on my car/truck rotors I used brake cleaner that did me fine. others said use isopropyl alcohol. I must admit it is mighty fine! even tested it on the pads (just because i wanted to) & it seemed to make them cleaner. it will be interesting to see how others feel about this. I just know after your vid that I learned to clean my rotors. thank you thank you for your other vids too, really enjoy them. looking forward to your review on the MC3 AWD
Larger diameter tires are a disadvantage when riding in Arizona as there are a lot of thorns here. I've had two flat tires in my e-bike which has four inch diameter tires. When they go flat they tend to come off the rim so it's a real pain when you get a flat tire. Yes I have the sealant in my tires but they still go flat with large enough thorns. Granted 4 in tires are great for off-road but it's just a larger diameter with more ground contact to pick up thorns.
Just for the record, the x p is the number one selling trike and you made a comment on one of your videos indicating that they had a bearing issue with the Rare axle, the fact of the matter is it was damaged by a forklift during shipping and bent the shaft. And that's why the bearing malfunctioned for the record!
Really surprised Mooncool didn't put a parking break on a trike??? Could be a deal breaker for me. Know your reading this Mooncool, add a parking break please, I know I'm not alone... Johny-c
Still shopping for an Etrike and I guess this is another one to add for consideration. There's one from Addmotor that is still my top pic for its 90 mile range, but still looking. Glad that this one also has brake lights and turn signals. Plus one thing I don't care for on this one and the XP Trike are the basket designs, I know you can put liner in but it looks like it would be too easy to lose stuff

What are your thoughts on being able to do rolling hills? I live in SE Missouri where the roads can rise or fall 100' or more in a quarter mile. I'm 5'11" and 300lbs.
The specs on Amazon don’t list the weight. I see this is the 20” version but is it the 1 speed or 7 speed? 1 speed is $1799. Released 3 months ago and not liking the comments how difficult it is to assemble. Also the Lectric version only has 1 color and also ugly which is mind boggling. I like the powder blue versions wonder why the 26” wheel version is about half the price.
Mooncool's 1 speed is the TK1, it required very little assembly. Its the FAT 20" that is the 7 speed and it requires a lot more assembly. I will be unboxing it this week.
Even though I ask the Lectric eTrikes Service that only my front Left parking brake for front wheel can not hold the trike on a small slope at my front door after I have traveled it within 50miles, service team did explain where I have to adjust. Will you help me?
I do, I have been riding them both for a few months and I still like the Mooncool better. The TK1 is just more stable. The TK1 Fat 20" which I just received recently is a little less stable because it has 20X4 tires, but I love that it is a 7 speed and I can pedal up to the max 16mph with no ghost pedaling.

I purchased The Addmotor Citi e310 Mini. The low ground clearance is a design flaw. The pedals may scrape when crossing a speed bump potentially causing serious foot injury. I informed the managers and their response was raise the seat, or install a smaller crank. And I would bear the cost of the repair to the crank. Of course raising the seat has no effect on the pedal arc. They pretend to be concerned with customer satisfaction. They are not and make no effort to address the problem. Their return policy is expensive and prohibitive. They suggested I sell the trike locally. I buy many products from many diverse manufacturers and Addmotor stands out as a greedy, disinterested supplier. Go elsewhere, if you have any problems, you own them. Anyone want a trike at a discount? Addmotor Citi e310 mini is flawed by design.
Yes, I lifted the latch a bit but little black rod seems to not clear the movable flat silver metal piece to close all the way, whether in open or closed position. There is a screw in it. I haven’t tried loosening it to see if it slides out of the way yet. Could that be an option?
Think I found a solution on Lectric owner site, Chris from Peddle Power. Has loads of repair and adjustment vids, so grateful, since Lectric XP is so similar to Mooncool. Thanks for your reply though. Love your videos!
@@marynorton1935 Possibly, but I have not experienced this problem so I am not sure. it does sound like something is out of alignment. Perhaps take a short video showing the problem and send it to Mooncool to see what they tell you.
I can really only speak to the ones I have tested, the Addmotor E-310 has the most power for hills. But, its a little less stable than the Mooncool. So far the Addmotor is probably the best equipped and maybe a little better quality over the Mooncool. Although I ride the Lectric, it does not have the quality, and is less stable than the Mooncool. I hope this helps.

TK1 , Looks like it handles a lot better than the E310, l got to do my turns very slowly on the 310 but it's got a lot more power, Great Video 👍👍

got mine and cannot assemble the Latch from handle bars to body wont latch. Can you help?
Maybe the company can offer free wheel chocks . Wonder if brake lever can be replaced by one with a parking function.
It came with Velcro straps, maybe they are meant to be used to wrap it around one of the wheels, to keep it from rolling away.

Has anyone tried a strap around the handgrip & brake lever to hold the brake on while parked? For all these trikes without parking brakes. 🤔
They make a lock that closes the brake to the handlebar . Less than $20.

Just be aware, the range manufacturer's post is not very realistic. Expect about half. They test in a lab under best conditions, not real life use.

The mooncool trike seems to be built cheaper than the lectric. Side flex on the frame as really noticeable.

I am having trouble closing my new strike t1. Can’t close the quick release. Any suggestions.

If price wasn’t a factor, what trike would you choose fur durability and hill power?

Its smaller than the Bison, and its more stable. The bison frame seemed weak and it leaned badly just riding on a slanted road. @@bartscave

For the Tk1 its listed in two different places as 43nm. I just looked and don't see 85nm anywhere.
I disagree with your title. I think the XP is cheaper and for many in this economy that is a huge advantage over Mooncool.
500w motor on a trike is a hard pass.
I'd want to use it for cargo in a trailer.
If its on flat ground I'm sure it will be fine. I need to test it out.

It’s not a front wheel drive…..
The TK1 that I reviewed has has a rear motor. The other new trike the Fat 20, has a 350w front hub motor that is why its much cheaper.
