I think only Cozy Powell (and of course David) was on the American version. The European and the American versions sound way different. The American is polished where as the European is raw sounding. But Mel Galley was the writer to this song and a damn good guitarist. John Sykes was on the Amerucan version and he's a bad ass on guitar. Check out John's Bad Boys Live cd. Has stuff from Blue Murder, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy on it. Freaking amazing on it.

Whitesnake was definitely one of the better bands of the 1980s. David Coverdale was often referred to as "the poor man's Robert Plant" which is sad. Coverdale was an amazing vocalist.

White Snake was a pretty good group, I think what hurt them was they couldnt figure out if they were going to do soft rock love songs or go harder as on this tune. People would buy an album and they had two harder songs an 8 slow songs and you thought you were getting a hader sound. But alot of people that liked soft rock love songs liked them, they did them well.

Hi Guys, Whitesnake are a British rock band formed in the 1970s, the lead singer is David Coverdale, who also sang vocals with another legendary British rock band called Deep Purple, on a song called Burn, Whitesnake are still going strong today in 2022 😀 😀

Whitesnake has some great songs - you guys are really getting good at breaking this stuff down so I'm paying closer attention to songs now and this time I heard some southern guitars in that solo like they could be jamming with Skynyrd ! Good sheet

I got the anniversary CD set . It includes the American version and the original British album AND a DVD . The British album literally sounds like just a demo compared to the American release . I think someone put the British album on CZcams somewhere .

A lot of similarities in the music to their big hit Still of the Night. This is another great song. Rock on!

great band, great album(s). David Coverdale had previously been part of the Deep Purple line up in the late 70's before leaving and forming Whitesnake. They unfortunately and unjustly got so much grief back in the day. a lot of people accused them of being a "poor man's" led zeppelin. especially Coverdale who was accused of trying to look and sound like Plant. totally unjustified in my opinion, he couldn't help the way he looked and sounded. After Whitesnake broke up Coverdale and Page got together and put out an album titled (Coverdale / Page). check out "Pride and Joy" or "Shake my Tree".

Can’t help by think of Robert Plant & Led Zeppelin in this song. Interesting that this lead singer was in Deep Purple, & did an album w/Zeppelin’s guitarist, Jimmy Page.

First concert I saw was Whitesnake opening for Motley Crue. Talk about a stage that burned up with excitement.
