    Nice review. Looks like a perfect firearm for home and outdoor defense. I probably won’t get one due to what I’m sure it must cost; but man, oh, man...it’s a fine looking piece. Thanks for sharing! 👍

    The extra buffer spring is there for a reason. You have to install the other buffer spring if you want to go suppressed.

    Outside of the Flash suppressor supplied, DD states it is an adjustable Gas Block on that unit? What's up with that? Sounds like a super cool option. Where do you adjust it and how? I have not seen anyone else offering that on a 300. I'm thinking real hard on picking one of these up. I love my DD DELTA so I am curious as to the performance of this gun.

    so which is better, daniel defense or maxim defense's pdw? they are about the same size and weight, cost around 1800 bucks, have similar short barrels, and shoot same ammo

    With it being DI how big of an issue would that be running suppressed? I figured DD would’ve made this a piston system.

  • @necro1234yahoo
    @necro1234yahoo Před 4 lety +5

    I'd be curious during any of your testing if that muzzle break (they call it a 'linear compensator') really is of benefit pushing the sound/blast away from the shooter by any meaningful measure.

    • @Libertarian_Neighbor
      @Libertarian_Neighbor Před 4 lety +2

      necro1234yahoo I have some linear comps. Muzzle brakes are horribly loud on AR’s. The linear comp definitely throws the sound forward. I don’t think the linear comp is that much “quieter” than a flash hider. The linear comp provides a little less recoil than a flash hider, feels like a push more than a flip, the flash hider has a little flip. 223/556 and/or 300 blk don’t have insane recoil to begin with. If you fire a pistol length barrel with a rifle caliber you’re going to want ear protection, especially in doors. They are loud and no off the shelf muzzle device is going to save your ears. Best of luck!

    • @thegolflife7565
      @thegolflife7565 Před 4 lety

      necro1234yahoo It absolutely does. I run a yo dawg or a “whistle tip” blast deflector but none compare to the accuracy and engineering that are in the #Noveske Flaming Pig (KX3, KX5).

    Just a heads up for all folks here. Military and LE cost for these in a SBR are $1000 a pop. The brace is $160 at cost. That's on military contract pricing. You can also buy DD SBR MK18 complete rifle for under $1000 as Police trade-ins. One is available right now for $999 and no tax if you're an Oregon resident.

I went home with space invader it’s just amazing well balanced easy to shoot heaven, not to mention 9mm ammo is super inexpensive I already went trough almost a 1k no issues what so ever..........anyhow that was my experience.

      It's all about the brace or stock. It removes several inches compared to a conventional stock or brace. Maxim, Deadfoot Arms, and SB Tactical have pdws. Although the sb tactical is made by Maxim defense. I personally have the Maxim SCW brace wich only adds 4 inches to your receiver. Basically if you lock your bolt back to the rear the receiver extension ends just after the charging handle.
      In the end my 7.5 inch 300 blackout has half an inch more barrel than this DD and it's 1 inch shorter thanks to the scw brace.

      Does PSA sell fully-assembled SKUs? I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. So if you don't want to build, this is a good option. DD also uses excellent barrels. Very durable to the point of being overbuilt in my opinion. I would say that applies to pretty much everything DD sells.
      I don't even respond to the very loud, very annoying "ya u can bild urself for $249 liek 4 reel" crowd anymore. We get it: you pulled one over on the professional shops. You obviously understand how to run a successful business, unlike these guys. And so on. Nothing against building and understanding what you use. But not everyone wants to spend dozens of hours researching literally every piece that goes into the end product like some of these people do.
      Additionally, full "retail" products usually do better on resale than pieced-together kits. Yes, you can sell your kit gun piecemeal just like you bought it, but that's annoying and you're probably not going to see any appreciation.
      I do think this price is a *tad* steep though, even though it's priced similarly to other products in the segment. It would be nice to see a basic set of iron sights and/or another P-Mag thrown in. But you could argue the kind of person buying this will replace the sights with something nicer anyway and can likely afford an additional fifteen dollar mag.
      Good luck with your search.

      I started with a Ruger, then assembled a couple P.S.A.’s, then Aero, then BCM then DD. I can tell you that I will no longer buy anything other than DD unless it’s just a range toy. All these people saying that “you can have the same gun for 1/2 the price” are mistaken. They may look similar, but they are not even close to the same. Should be fine for mall ninjas and range toys though. Buy once, cry once. Like Taylor Swift said “haters gunna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate...”

    • @project86xero
      @project86xero Před 4 lety +2

      It's all about the qc and tolerance testing. PSA is MIL spec. However people don't understand that milspec is a range and tolerance stacking is a thing. Premium companies like Daniel Defense, BCM, LMT, Noveske, etc have much higher qc standards and test for much greater tolerances.
      What this means is your gun is more likely to run reliably for longer as well as be more accurate. Again more likely. Some PSA guns may be just as good but there's a greater likelihood they'll have issues of some kind.
      Not saying there's anything wrong with PSA. I own several. However I wouldn't take any of my PSA ARs over my BCMs.
      There's also other things like PSA doesn't even dimple their gas blocks but Daniel Defense dimples and pins them. Which is something I feel is a necessity for a reliable defensive AR.
      DDs barrels are also cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined. Which PSA offers with their FN CHF barrels which cost more than their standard nitrided or parkerized barrels.
      Also Daniel Defense matches their lower and upper receivers so they're going to fit together more tightly than a PSA.
      Daniel Defense also assembled everything with the proper torque specs. I know for a fact several of my PSA guns weren't put together properly in terms of torque. An also one of my complete PSA guns didn't have staking on the castle nut.
      Long story short I take all my PSA guns apart to dimple and pin the gas blocks. I also stake the bolt carriers better if needed and stake the castle nuts too.
      But not everyone wants to or can do those things. For those people a pre-assembled gun from a quality manufacturer like Daniel Defense might make some sense. However I do agree Daniel Defense guns are a little overpriced. Personally I'd rather get a BCM.

      @@truth9375 the lower reciever SKU number is: 516446451. It is a lower reciever+ brace set. $349
      The upper reciever SKU number is: 5165449604. $339
      Here is the SKU# for a 10.5 complete upper with, M-lok rail, MBUS sights, BCG, CH (a sig sauer "romeo msr"), lower parts kit, arm brace "stock," buffer tube, buffer spring, buffer, EVERYTHING you need except a lower reciever which, I sent 1 of many to choose from part numbers, to you above. This whole upper, including a red dot optic is only $669. Normally $950. Probably the route I'll go and just put it on an existing lower I already have. Scratch that, they have stripped lowers for $50 or I'll get the lower+ stock I listed above with the part number. Before tax, with the first 2 SKU's I gave you, your looking at $689.98.
      Or you could get even cheaper and buy the complete upper set I listed a stripped lower reciever and a lower parts kit + brace.
