What a place for a young person just beginning their adult life. What a place for professionals and those in the building trades. Because it is a capital city Whitehorse will grow and it has nature, beautiful nature on its side. It also has culture and places to eat and to socialize. The buildings are attractive with none of the ugly Russian style apartment block type construction. It is amazingly urban in its look reminding me of a small Maritime Canada City such as Moncton or Charlottetown. Along with the healing power of nature, in the post COVID 19 world, Whitehorse and even Dawson City are communities that are less soul crushing and polluted. They are well positioned as antidote for the shell shock we are now feeling. If I were in my 20's again this is where I would want to be. Give me the mountains and the Yukon River.

My company flew me up from Edmonton to see if I wanted to live and work in Whitehorse. I made up my mind when I was still 10,000 feet up and never regretted moving there. Thanks for the video that again confirmed my decision.

Having been there myself I loved the place and the people. I am from the US and spent 14 years in a combination of Fairbanks and Anchorage working and if I ever decided to move to Canada it would be Whitehorse. One time I was there I went to a hotel there but they were booked and had no rooms. They still found me a room and didn’t even charge me. One of the managers was using a room as a makeshift office so they pushed the desk and a few other things out into the hallway and put a bed in the room so I had a place to spend the night 🫢

Seen quite a few videos of Whitehorse. It looks like there so much infrastructure for a city with population of just 25,000 people. 3 lane road as well. And everything looks so stretched out, 35 square kilometres for city administration of this size it is a lot. For instance similar polar city of Dudinka, Russia with roughly 25,000 population has only 10 square kilometres territory, jam-packed with apparent blocks. Feel trapped just by looking at pictures of it, while footage of Whitehorse gives you feeling of freedom, feeling like you have full lungs of oxygen :)

Yes Whitehorse is so very attractive and yes it seems bigger than it is. It reminds me of Moncton NB.
