Growing older is crazy. When I was 14 TV commercials were just a nuisance, I would never never NEVER have thought that at age 49 I would be sitting watching them just to feel nostalgic and that watching them would symbolize a time in my life when I still had a chance to make good decisions and walk down a better path. These old commercials make me cry. Life is crazy.
Beautifully said. Each day is a new 24 hours, each day we can choose light and life. You have more to offer than you think, you're doing better than you realize. Take care.
@@christinabridgeman3859 Thank you very much for that.
@@wilfordfraser6347 keep keeping on!
I use these old commercials like a time machine, I miss the 80’s so much!
I was born in 1986, I heard these commercials while I was in the womb.
I miss those days I was born way before you. People were way nice then compared to people your age of today.
felix121984 god you'd hate being 17 years old in today's world
I was born in 1986, too lol
Who needs a iphone when you can have a pocket TV from Casio!
Wow, $100 in 1986, that's like $1,500 at least!
@@ThePeterDislikeShow actually 270 but yeah... My dad had something similar but not until the early 90s when they came down in price.
I need the Stud Finder for my love life.
1:19 Pocket TV from Casio - Hilarious.
Do you want to smell the guy's feet in the Harbor Sport Commercial ?
really the best year of the best decade-no virus either April 2020
I'm always interested in seeing what was going on around me when I was a non self aware baby.
I don't even remember some these commercials and I was 12 at the time except for the Gatorade commercial, the Excedrin one and the singing downy one. Time to go to the 90s
I'm starting to feel old
Amazing the difference in commercials from just 10 years before.
*DAMN!!!!!!*
Why do I want a pocket TV so badly, even though I'm watchin this, on my cellphone?
5:41 I remember being 14 years old and could not wait until I was an adult, because commercials and TV taught me that hot women in bathing suits were everywhere just waiting for a guy like me to come along and romance them!
I think that was Kirsten Dunst in that Kix commercial!
According to Mr. Google you are correct sir! Apparently she did many commercials starting at age 3.
@Jonathan Watson good eye!👍🏻
That number for the little Casio pocket tv,
that's a party line now LOL
I was so disappointed,
I want the pocket TV
I don't care about party lines LOL
That was Ian Ziering from 90210 in that Duncan Hines commercial. Who knows how many modern day stars are in these.
@5:23 the bartender Peter Jason , he was the bartender in the movie 48 Hours talking to Eddie Murphy..
I own that Casio Pocket TV. Sadly, the battery slot is corroded... Not that it matters, since you can't even use analog TV anymore...
A lot of commercials I'd totally forgotten about.
This was about the time when Skynet decided that all humans must die!
Maybe we all robotic cloned replacements at this point I swear I feel like one lol
The coffee commercial reminds me of that Chris Farley SNL skit lol
Taylor Swift is a Time Traveler! 5:07
I didn't think I was the only one who noticed that.
Watching these while watching Unsolved mysteries on Hulu.
Holy shit - is the dude in the Nestlé Crunch commercial @ 4:23 the same dude who played Peter Brady in THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE in 1995? And why is that information in my brain?
It was Greg.
@1:15 In 2020 im watching this on my “pocket tv”.
Gillette added another blade every 5 years
Was it moist enough for Ducan Hines? LMAO!
lol, at that casio "pocket" tv....
My beloved purchased a colour version of the same thing. Paid 200 bucks for it in 1990 (ish) . We used it 3 times I think.
I had a portable TV in the early 90s, it was interesting to bring on a trip and catch local TV signals (of course I wasn't driving yet). Now I have Netflix and CZcams on my phone. Easier to get but sadly less local.
You can now get that $99.95 Casio Pocket on Ebay for $2.95. :-)
Pocket TV. Casio. Wow.
Is that Ian Ziering in the cake ad?
Visine... Because it's the 80s, and cocaine and stuff.
Jose De La Luz I never saw cocaine in those days.
@@joemartin1253 wrong!
Hahaha
Ian Ziering in the cake commercial!
As a kid, I used to think the guy in the Folgers commercial was Ronald Reagan.
born in 86. dude fuck the future
The Right Guard commercial... I member.
My Visine Eyes Commercial Is My Favorite!
14:33 Alan Bleviss, one of the all-time greatest voice-over talents.
4:06 The unmistakable voice of W.B. Brydon, who you might remember as the bank manager in Trading Places.
1:22 Watching TV outdoors? That was extremely, extremely rare and anyone who did it was smart enough not to place the TV set with the sun shining directly onto the screen!
3 shaving commercials in a row!
Nice
Wow, I called the thumbnail. +1 me. And that claymation chicken must represent a chicken that refuses to get cooked. Ha, take that, disobedient chickens.
Who was the first person to put Visine in their eye?
8:32 Excedrin
$99.95 for that tiny b&w pocket TV with inflation would cost $270 today. Funnier is today you could probably buy it for only $5 at a goodwill store. Those TV's sucked for reception. Harbor One sportswear LOL corny as hell.
Damn I forgot how white tv used to be.
Over 81% of the population in the US was white in the 1980s, so...yeah
The New Micro Trac Razor from Gillette*
* Razor does not shave mustaches.
5:09 #taylorswift
The world portrayed in these commercials hasn’t existed in decades.
Mark will
sure was a lot of white people on tv back in those days.
they only allowed black people in loveable sitcoms.
... and they turned out to be rapists.
So white people were actually in commercials? Wowza bowza
Where were the Black people?
Oh man. I did want to say nothing. I saw maybe 1 or 2, but they looked mixed.
@Michael Tucker nah, they were doing there own thing. more united then too.
didn’t notice and didn’t miss em, and I’m brown.
People were very ugly in the 1980s
Pill Box People are just as ugly now.
+veela lynne No they are much uglier now
Everyone should be as ugly as the Right Guard actress!
Pill Box
It was the hairstyles 😂
At least they weren't all plastic and fake looking, like they are today
