  • Sea Shepherd UK crew on Operation Bloody Fjords document the cliffside disposal of Pilot Whale Remains into the sea - 28th Aug 2019

After having followed a truck from the site of the previous day's grindadráp in Vestmanna, Sea Shepherd crew managed to document the dumping the pilot whale remains, calves and fetuses over a cliff into the sea.
The site of the dumping is just South-East of the small town of Leynar, a dumping site previously uncovered by Sea Shepherd in 2010.
The grind in Vestmanna on August 27th 2019 ended up taking the lives of 98 whales, including young calves and pregnant mothers after a harrowing 5-hour chase. It was the 11th grind of 2019, but the first-ever where Sea Shepherd managed to document the act of dumping the remains of the whales.

As I remembered there used to be some comments here explaining the background behind the video. I guess Sea Shepherd UK did not like those facts and have since deleted them all.

I would like to take part in the Grind (Grindadráp) once Corona is over. Can someone tell whether this is possible for visitors of the Faroe Islands? Thank you.
