@@jorgegonzalez-ju9km I know this is an old comment but the flood lights only turn on when a human is detected, or you can toggle that option off and it will turn on even if a car drives by.
Great video as always! Shame that Eufy doesn't allow this to be synced to the homebase. If someone steals the device then your footage is all gone. Such a waste. Eufy keeps getting really close to being good, then it drops the ball.
I prefer the solo option with no base station. By the time you got the screw cap off someone would be alerted to your presence and saved the video to their phone before you could unscrew it.
Dude, that 40ft detection was amazing, like 3 feet out from the shed and it picked you up! I want one of these to go with my 2c's but no homebase integration is poor as I'd like to set triggers for the cameras to all record when one detects motion. The 4gb doesn't bother me too much as there's plenty of time to save a clip before it loop records. As always, great work LH 👍
Another great review! The 4gb memory is not a deal breaker for me. The features are pretty outstanding like the 10 second pre roll. The mic is very sensitive, but in a good way. Did anyone notice the birds in the background cawing to each other? They were a pretty good distance away. If any group of people were to break into your house or cars you might be able to catch what they are saying to each other. Thanks again for all of your hard work!
Well if the thief decides to break it then you will not have access to the recordings. It needs to connect to the Eufy Home base inside the house really!
Thanks for the review! I did notice with your review of the 1080p you had to get very close for the motion detection to pick you up. The 2k picked up motion at 40ft pretty quick.
Very useful as always. Your backyard is very clean; no trees or brushes to trigger false alarms. Maybe one of these days we are going to see you running around holding a large plant to see if the AI capabilities are triggered or not the notifications.
I tried this camera at night with the Auto Night Vision ON & OFF. With the Night Vision OFF, I got no video at all. With it ON, yes the picture was in black and white, but once I entered the field of view, the flood lights turned on and it turned to color. Works pretty well....
Nice improvements but if it had a micro SD slot and possibly poe it would be much better. a comparison with the 1080p version would be cool. Great review tho
@@LifeHackster I want to hear your opinion on the new Eufy security camera with line up that just got announced. I've seen built in solar panels. It could be a real game changer. At least for me.
Quick suggestion at 9:20 when you’re doing the night vision testing do you think you could hold the license plate up please so we can see if the camera reads license plates clearly at night
I really want to like this but no expandable storage, no continuous recording, and no intergration with the homebase feels like a step backwards. Having said that though, the pre-buffer and motion detection at distance are both very impressive
Completely agree! I've been waiting to replace my floodlights and hoped this would be the one! Looks like I'm going to have to keep waiting unless it gets REALLY cheap in a sale.
Hi fantastic video again I am going to wait to buy the eufy 2k floodlight when it starts working with Alexa and google then I will buy it plus I gave up with the Reolink lumus and Argus 3 pro cameras these cameras and not waterproof at all in the UK 4 times I sent theses cameras back to Amazon because the spotlight didn’t work water in cameras
I'm just curious, why is 4gb a deal breaker (referring to comments), isn't that enough memory for a situation where you get a stranger in your yard and then that same day upload the video? Why would you need more than 4gb?
Yep, Eufy's new wired cameras do not connect to the Home Base 2....so video storage is limited & less secure as it's in the camera itself. If someone steals the camera, your video is gone too. This was a design flaw on Eufy's part IMHO.
I have a problem with my Eufy floodlight 2K camera. Since you wrote such an excellent review about it, I would like to ask you a question. In my backyard there are trees and sometimes an open parasol. At night, the camera detects the movement of the branches or the parasol as movement and sounds an alarm. That is less now because I keep the parasol folded. However, the light still comes on due to the wind blowing through the branches. I set the motion detection to low, so I don't get the alarm anymore. Question: How can I adjust the motion sensor for the light differently?
It's a good camera, I got myself one 3 days ago (people tried stealing my dogs) after watching this. The only thing I don't like is that the speaker is pretty quiet, if you talk through it, you can barely hear it unless there's zero noise around you. The alarm is not bad, but again you can barely hear it when you're inside your house, which I would rely on neighbours hearing it if I was away, but changes are they wouldn't hear it from inside. The lights are very good and the night vision is brilliant. You have to rely on good internet connection, so if your Internet is pretty slow, this probably isn't the camera for you.
Thanks for the video comparing all the different security cameras! Very informative & logically effectively present the facts. Unfortunately I am in Australia, the product available here is at least 10-12 month behind your market. Well, I wonder if you have any idea on this 4G memory can hold I. very good review. yeah the no external storage integration is a bummer. what are the other workarounds? they should have put at least NAS integration like their wired outdoor cams. Does any other brands flood light cams supports NAS / homebase integration ?
Just installed mine. Mine (I have two) don't work in motion detection test mode. Another issue is that the motion sensing light has too many false triggers. My $50 standard motion light was more reliable in this respect. Changing sensitivity seems to only relate to human detection.
Hi mate, i have a query about the flood light. The triggering distance for the flood light from a front on angle, what would that be? Is that adjustable. It seems like floodlights trigger only when we are really close to camera like 4 mtrs or something. I was hoping that it will trigger the light like a driveway flood light does, like when you walk into drive way.
When can eufy really provide integration into homebase? Their individual cameras have arm/disarm but I cannot even automate that with Alexa nor google home.
Did they get Alexa integration added yet, or any promises to do via future update? Thinking about making the jump from Ring but Alexa integration is a must
Do you think the sensors/floodlight will be just as effective if installing horizontally or better to install it vertically? I would like to swap out an existing floodlight under an eave. Thanks
Hi LifeHackster, I need some help deciding between the Ring and Eufy.
