Some of those old paperback covers are true pieces of art. When I uncovered my collection of high school and college literature books, the nostalgia was strong. I love old books!!

The Renegade Librarian is back! I agree that the seven inch tall paperbacks, along with similarly sized hardcovers, are best grouped together, for aesthetic purposes. You have lots of good books in there.

Steinbeck is a favorite American author for me. Of Mice and Men is a good place to start. A Tale of Two Cities is another favorite! So many books, so little time! 🙂

There’s an integrity to those old mass market paperbacks. I opt for a larger edition now (if I can) but remember them fondly.
I completely agree. I love a mass market paperback, but don't love reading from it.
I believe Edith Hamilton is the classic author in Mythology. I read it in high school. Loved it and it inspired me to read more.

You have some great books on this list. A few of them that I remember from your video are King Lear by Shakespeare, which is a very favorite play of mine, so far my favorite of the ones I have read by Shakespeare, but it is due for a reread after many years. Also, I loved The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne when I read it years ago (another one I'd like to reread). Jamaica Inn, I loved it even better than Rebecca. I thought Rebecca was good, but slow. Jamaica Inn was thrilling and kept me on edge the whole time. However, I did love the ending of Rebecca better than the ending of Jamaica Inn. I expected and wanted something different than how the Jamaica Inn ended. Edith Hamilton is a renown classical mythologist and her work is used in college. I have a different edition of the book you are holding on the video, but it is probably the same thing inside: (If I remember the precise content well) I would probably say that it is a compilation of myths taken through various ancient sources. She narrates the storylines, and she also explains the significance these myths had for the ancient world. She gives a nice introduction to Classical mythology in the beginning of the book as well.

Neuromancer is actually pretty good. You tend to like books about identity and perception. That book does that as well. I'd give it a shot.

Hamilton’s Mythology is the text used in college to teach the classical myths. It’s dry but a good resource.

I have some of those 1 line a days. I tend to go through phases over the years of jotting in them. Definitely span more than 5 years but it’s fun looking back and seeing the answers change as we change ❤️ It’s a great collection of books Shelley 😊

This is the most beautiful collection I've ever seen on booktube. Especially those vintagey or vintage-looking ones (which were the majority anyway)! Oh My God..beautiful, beautiful, 100 times beautiful. Please don't get rid of that version of The Scarlet Letter 😢😢 it is superb!! Shogun is my mom's favorite book. Long overdue for me to read..
