The Vocoder and the Auto-tune are two effects that are easily mistaken for one another, so I wanted talk a little about how each of these effects work so you can choose which one suits the best your music. Then let's add the talk box affect as well as it is also a popular effect to put on vocals to make a robotic voice. This would make a great opportunity to talk about formants and we can use them on synths, guitars and more.

This was hands down the best Vocoder tutorial I've ever seen, even if the video wasnt meant to be just that!
That vocoder tutorial was great, I finally get it
A really great description of how vocoders work, thanks a lot! I also like the outro music
Thanks !
Thx a lot, that's always very useful to understand the tools we use as music producers !!
Again, not only was the topic super well explained, the practical uses were really useful too! Especially the Vocoder on the drums!
Fantastic as usual, thank you very much! Using the information in this video provides food for weeks or months of interesting and fruitful experiments ...
Excellent work, Woochia. Thank you very much for making this vital sound design tutorial. The difference is irrelevant to most people, but I think it matters especially due to the polarized reputation of Auto-Tune.
Thank you for referencing some of the greatest talkbox features in rock music, even though you couldn’t share the audio. I will suggest a few additional videos: “Live @ BET 1989” by Zapp & Roger; “Ghetto Talkbox” by Moot Booxlé (a certified CZcams classic).
Check out anything by Roger Troutman, Teddy Riley, Mr. Talkbox, Sholo Truth, or Justin-Lee Schultz. 😍
Man, these videos were great, thanks for this!

The most scariest sound I have ever heard
What you’re waiting for, in only three words, but I can only say four.
Thanks! It was a kong time since I learned so much so quickly!
keep up the good work and you will grow in numbers soon!
thank you for the sound design theory i have seen no one on the internet do that
great tutorial! 😊 thank you!
very helpful. here's my engagement boost for you
Sublime content as always. And thank you for the tiny bit of auto tune. I deeply wish i would like that sound but i hate it,so,hard i turn the rdio off it a song passes by with that effect on the vocals. No mercy. The boss vocoder pedal does a nice talkbox effect too btw.
it was fucking amazing!!!!!
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome :)
Wow thats incredible u can play synth with your voice 😅😅😅
thank you so much for help
You're welcome:)
So which app should we go for , for best auto tune
What do you think of sample modeling?
Hi Woochia, can you please send a link to an article explains the topic that was explained here 0:25 - 0:37
(Sound in cavity)
About the frequencies getting emphasized by the frequency of resonance of a room? You have more chance to find it by searching articles about formants (in acoustics, more than in speech science).
On the formant article on wikipedia for example, you can read : "a formant is usually defined as a broad peak, or local maximum, in the spectrum. [...] A room can be said to have formants characteristic of that particular room, due to its resonances, i.e., to the way sound reflects from its walls and objects."
Oh I see, so two of these devices are used by artists and the other is not. Thanks! Seriously though, the vocoder demo was tip top.
Great video! I'm a '70s kid and Peter Frampton was my first experience hearing a voice box czcams.com/video/y7rFYbMhcG8/video.html
