stoked for bike parks this year!
Awesome! Stoked to see you hit the trails with it !
Great choice, I'd say YT bikes come with the best components relative to their price. Can't go wrong with any of them.
glad to hear that!
Great Stuff Lucas. The MTB community is awesome. If ya can buy some good tools and learn how to maintain your bike. Stoked to see you join the sport and embrace it. Cheers!!
thanks man! i'm sure like the ski community, the mtb community has its good parts and bad parts - but im stoked to have another way to share the stoke in the summer on the channel!
Great choice! Have a YT myself, gotta say they are very durable and a blast at the bike park , can’t wait!
So glad to hear that haha
I have this exact bike, bought it last year. Despite it being a long travel enduro, I still out-pedal a lot of guys who are on XC bikes on our local trails. It still pedals/rolls pretty good for how much bike is there. Good choice!
Stoked to hear that man! Glad it goes uphill decently well!
Ahhhhhyaaaa!!! dude you are going to love it! It is such a great bike. This is my second YT and I cannot say enough good things about it. I picked up the core one last year.🙌🏻
Can’t freaking wait to get to watch some bike park laps this summer
I started getting into the bike parks last year. Pedaling is fun but I feel the progression happens so much faster when you can get laps in!
Stoked for you man, that thing is SICK!!!! Congrats brother and I can't wait to see where that ship takes you.
Thank you brother
You will LOVE the Capra for DV! I went with the Jeffsy this year and have zero complaints. Sick bike!
You’ll love the capra! Easily the best component specced bikes on the market for the price. I went metal on mine a few years ago as well, makes it nearly indestructible for heavy bike park riding compared to a lot of other carbon bikes. Have fun with it!
Stoked to hear that! Sounds like a bike park killer
I hope you get out and do more than the bike park, there is a whole side of riding that the park can't get you. I have a lot of friends that only go to Trestle and as soon as you get them out on a true trail they are a fish out of water. No judgement ,just some advice from someone who has been biking for 15 yrs. Park is great to get some downhill skills locked in, but it doesn't give you the true biking skills that make riding so fun.
yah im open to anything but definitely most interested in the thrill of downhill biking. if im gonna climb, id rather go on a road bike for that! whatever gets you out there is what matters!
@@LucasCatania17 I think we are talking about two different things. You can for sure get a lot (more in my opinion) of thrill outside of the bike park and I'm not saying you should climb for exercise. I think you should climb to get skills and get to trails that are truly epic. Most single track black trails are harder and more thrilling than bike park blacks. Just don't cut yourself off from the best and most thrilling trails, cuz more often than not, they are not in the bike park. I take that all back if you just want to hit jumps, then bike bike for sure. I'm way more into steep tech myself. i ride in CO, we have great bike parks, but the best trail riding in the state all have pedaling involved and are free. Have a great summer riding and I'm looking forward to the content!
I agree with this. Riding in the wilderness will give you a good learning experience on how to hone in the other 50% of the skills needed to be a great off road cyclist. I personally enjoy XC style riding and I'd like to try out Enduro (I live in Southeast Michigan, and it's too flat for that).
Can’t wait to see you start ripping down some trails!
Stoked!
Great bike! Enjoy the trails 🤘🏽
This is rad! Excited to see where this new bike takes you
Thanks Owen!
Nice! New bike day is the best day; love the video, looking forward to seeing it on the trails!
Thanks Evan! Gonna do more road rides this year too!
Heck yeah dude! Stoked to watch you ride all summer!
Appreciate that man 💪🏽
YT bikes are so good you're going to love that thing. I almost bought one but ended up getting a Commencal. Can't wait to see where you go with that bike, this year's going to be great!
Hell yeah so sick Lucas !
Thanks man!
Man that’s awesome good choice. I like trail riding and love to explore your area someday. Enjoy the bike have fun :) thanks for the content.
Thanks for watching!
i'm 61 , started ridding in the late 90's... I currently ride a Ibis Ripmo...Welcome to a addiction ,imo that is stronger then skiing.. Lift served downhill is cool, but enjoy the pain and suffering of the up hill....By the way, GREAT bike too..
Those ibis bikes look sweet! I was looking at some of those!
Hey man I commented on your last live about a dual crown fork (Ohlins DH 38) for the Capra. Fellow core 2 Capra owner exact same setup as yours, except I bought mine back in 2021, I have ridden the crap out of the 38 170mm travel. I then upgraded to the Fox DHX2 with the lockout and a 450lb spring and it is an absolute game changer. For the fork I upgraded to the Fox 38 Factory with 180mm travel so about 10mm extra travel and the Kashima&grip 2 dampener. Wasn’t a huge fan of the fork upgrade. But the coil is a must need if you’re going to upgrade.
Vital MTB came out with a “DownDuro” build with the same Capra with an Ohlins 200mmtravel DH38, so I did the same and it is an absolute monster. I remember you speaking on being afraid of the pedaling efficiency of buy a true DH bike and not being able to peddle.
Since you do have a Capra with 11-12 gears compared to a DH with 3-5, you still have those climbing gears. And I will say with the DH fork I have noticed it climbs better with the seat angled a bit forward. The Capra is a super forgiving platform to upgrade it’s doesn’t really change the geometry. Also from knowledge the Capra is dual crown rated. I got the DH 38 M1 race fork in a 52mm offset to keep that front tire out the same as the old fork. Rides like an absolute monster I do both black and double black tech and so a good 5 mile climb with the fork every ride in southern Oregon. What’s cool about the Ohlins fork is that it has 2 air chambers, gives a way better feel than Fox or Rockshox and that coming from me who has ran absolutely everything on this bike.
**Pros closet is running 20% off on the fork right now. To note you have to buy the fork from the crown separately, gives you the option to run your favorite offset. 44, 52, 56 I’d recommend the 52**
Love to see it!
Thanks man!
The Fox 38 shocks and the drivetrain upgrades were worth the little extra. Nice choice Lucas. Can’t wait to see you bomb down the slopes.
thank you my friend. i am excited.
Bruh. Sweet bike. Completely informative. Well explained, in your inimitable fashion. Excellent vid. Well done, all the way around. And, you are looking absolutely buff! Suns out - guns out! This should get traction!
Haha really appreciate that Ron! Thanks for watching the video. Here’s to a fun summer
Sweet bike.. It looks like you did your research and found out what you like.. I am doing the same thing with ebikes..
Nice Darin! Enjoy
Narrowing the bars is a good idea. On my new bike the bars were around yours width and it started to bother my rotator cups. You can’t go wrong with a shoulder width setup. Worked great back in my day. I’m so glad you went with the black. Sweet ride.
Yeah I like the black! Gonna ride it a bit before doing anything but could def see myself cutting the bars down a little!
Downhill mtb is the best way imo to spend the off season, just be careful dude it’s a lot easier to get seriously hurt
Bike looks sick! I was talking to a buddy from work last week after the stream. He’s big into bikes, I asked him about your bike choice. We looked it up and he couldn’t believe the price for the level of componentry on this bike! I think you made an excellent choice. Can’t wait to see you ripping on it!
Aye love to hear that! Think it’s one of the best priced bikes out there for what you get! Stoked to ride it!
yeah~cool - Lucas,=)
Sweet video man! I have a yt Tues (Dh 27.5) and my dad has a Capra uncaged 11 and both are really fun bikes.
Sick setup man 💪🏽
What bike parks are you thinking of going to this summer
Great choice! New bike day is the best. Are you going to be at opening day of Deer Valley next week?
yeah man ill be there!
Super cool. Come on over to Corner Canyon and ride Jacob's, Rush, levitate etc.
Those trails look so rad!
Sweet bike, you'll figure out what bar position you like, and everything else. Just ride it and everyday you'll love it even more! Riding mountain bikes is more fun than riding my Ducati, and no idiots and cops on the road to kill you!
gotta bring the ducati to a racetrack imo. safer and more fun. like trying to drive a porsche on the street.
@@LucasCatania17 Agreed! No tracks in Charlotte, unfortunately, as a Cali rider we are spoiled in the west. Hit up Angel Fire in NM, def the best park ive ridden .
Love it Lucas!! What travel is that 160/150? Stop by a local shop and have them dial you into that ride! Can’t wait to see the debut outing!
Thanks Shawn! It’s 170/165 actually!
@@LucasCatania17 Boom!! Bring on the chunky goodness :)
Sweet bike man!! You might wanna level your seat but other than that looks great
Yes haha already did 🙌🏽
im kind of excited... i guess
How am I the first comment about how sick this garage space is?? We need a tour!!
Haha!! A bit easier to film in there over the van!
Sweet you are going to love having your owe bike. Do you have a lock?
Yea bon I’m stoked! And yeah! I have a lock
Hey lucas! I was about to cop the same bike but im puzzled about choosing a size for myself(182/70kg).How is the L size for yourself?
Aloha, sweet bike!!! I'm getting one, it's $2799 on sale! How much did you pay? Asking because if there is a better sale, I'll wait
Lucas how do you feel the last season cycling has affected your skiing fitness if any?
i dont really feel that downhill mtb affects my fitness as much as road cycling does.
Does it not come with peddles?
No. Bikes rarely come with pedals.
Sick video! How tall are you and what size is the bike?
5’10 large
@@LucasCatania17 do you feel that is a good size for you? I am also 5'10" and trying to figure out what size I need.
how tall are you
5’10”
@@LucasCatania17 thanks mate just wanted to know what size bike I should get this will help
