In 1947, they launched "Buco", a full apparel line with the slogan: “Motorcycle jackets, gloves, caps, belts and bags all cut and sewn by life long craftsmen dedicated to the task at hand”. Love the way you present. A little background info regarding the buco. Yours is a J22 if is an original 1953. Later jackets such as the j23 and j24 did not have a wool lining. I am trying to reproduce the belts of the original j22. I was wondering if you can share some images. I am specially interested in which type of rivets they used on the belt loops. The "D" pocket has been credit to Schoot for their1928 mass produce jacket.

    The Buco is a rider while the Schott 626 is really for fashion. Man that Buco is nice. Always loved that lining. I feel like I couldn’t afford it but then I think about how much money I’ve spent and lost on jackets I didn’t really love- coulda had a Buco by now. 😂

I think the jacket could have been as a custom? If you need an extra zipper for your jacket, I have the very same zips they used for that jacket.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but that's not a Schott 626 - it's actually a Schott 626 Vintage. There are subtle differences in the two outside of needing to break it in versus having it already broken into, like where the sleeve zippers are located (top vs bottom), etc. The vintage is also slightly more expensive.

      This is the 626 regular version but pre 2014 (which was exactly the same as the VN that we have now)... after 2014 they redesign the regular 626, removed the stars and added the biswing, also moved the zippers on the sleeve to the back of the sleeve... so that is in fact the regular 626, not the vintage...

  • @alred6568
    @alred6568 Pƙed rokem

    Nice Buco. But chopping the sleeves? The proper way is done from the shoulders. Too bad your tailor did not give you that option. The j- line in their buco's have a fake sleeve stitching that makes the jacket stands out.
