To be clear, most of these animals aren't being "freed". They are going from horrible, inhumane versions of captivity to large, beautiful, outdoor enclosures. Animals that have spent too long in captivity can't survive in the wild, so we do the next best thing. In some ways, living in a large, outdoor enclosure is better than being wild... much safer, don't need to worry about food, etc.
I understand what you are saying but these poor animals were tortured and confined for years enduring medical experiments or factory farming. They are now unburdened from the fear of daily pain or certain death.
Agreed but turning institutionalised animals out into a wilderness and expecting them to survive is not going to happen. They don't know what food is or how to shelter. They haven't seen rain or storms. They shut down with overwhelm. Choice and options and respect is about all that can be offered and hope for the best.

The amount of sensory overload, wonder and joy on these animals, especially the chimps, is something most people will never really experience.
Chimps are my least favourite of the monkey world but watching these boys hugging and staring in awe at the wonders around them. My favourite is of the tigers playing in the water for probably the first time. God bless you all for saving these beautiful animals 🙏 ❤

Planting some trees around the outside perimeter of the tigers’ enclosures would go a long way to keeping them a lot cooler and it would look so much better.
Those tigers were being rescued by four paws. It’s a holding area to get the big cats ready for the next part of their journey. They all needed up at Lions Rock in South Africa. It takes a lot of organising to firstly to “ rescue” the animal and then to be allowed to move it. I have been involved in animal rescue with many large rescue organisations and in every case we had problems moving animals from on part of the world to another due to politics. It amazes me that it can take years to do this legally and a few weeks if you are an animal smuggler. Strange.

I'm not an animal lover per say but I'm not definitely against cruelty to animals. People here in Florida are freaking out about bears coming into their yards looking for food and things but what are they supposed to do? They have no where to go. Yeah, the pigeons are released, and then they race each other back to their cages. It was touching to see the Macaw Caregiver cry as he was seeing his favorite birds take to the sky. He loved them. Seeing them go was breaking his heart, but he was giving them his blessings and wishing them luck. They'll meet again in Heaven. Thumbs up!

Many of these remind me of a cat that I got from an elderly lady when she went into a nursing home. The woman was a hoarder, the cat was terrified of the open space in my home. It took her two weeks before she would come out from under my bed and look around. It took her longer to not hug the walls. I took her to my vet to introduce her to him and when she got home... she had the zoomies. She died from cancer two years later, but the last years of her life was filled with zoomies.
Of all the animals saved only the elephant who lives up to 100 years and looked relatively young will be free the longest. Other people below are commenting on what humans have done to beautiful animals and yes we will pay for it. Mother Nature is already making us pay and she's only getting started.

It's horrific what we subject animals to. I visited a zoo some years ago, I couldn't believe they still existed. The big cats in the glass fronted enclosure lay with their backs against the glass despite tourists throwing things at it to make them turn around or move. Yesterday I watched an old 30's movies that took place in a circus and there were a few lions never out on grass, just in their cages or being used as props.
These beautiful animals were never created for human entertainment or to be in tight cages. They are meant to be free. Some humans show immense disrespect for these living breathing creatures. They were not created to experiment on and to give harmful chemicals to. This should stand out. Ignorance and cruelty stepped in.
Can you imagine the pain and horror of being encaged your whole life, never knowing the open sky and air? Oh it can make you weep. And now, to see them finally know freedom is so beautiful, that makes me weep too!

These new environments are 100% better than what they have had previously. I hate cages! This is amazing to see but on the flip side these animals can't survive in the wild after so long in captivity. Lions especially because other lions will kill them on sight. They will never know True Freedom. I'm so grateful that these animal lovers are willing and able to grant them the next best thing. This should never happen. Born wild, live wild.
