Hello, We are on vacation at the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya resort! This video is day 3 and 4 of our vacation! We spent these days relaxing at the beach and pool, snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef, eating and drinking lots, getting up and going to the beach at sunrise and spotting a sea turtle laying her eggs, as well and walking around and exploring the resort and shopping! My wife and I went there for a week in the late spring a few years ago. It was without a doubt, the best vacation we ever had. Nothing against kids, we love them, but it was nice to have a week long vacation at an adults only resort. Do they still meet you when you pull up with a glass of champagne, and "Welcome Home"?
It was so relaxing! Yes, they do give you a glass of champagne when you get there! I already miss it!

Honestly it was in Cancun at 2 am in 2010 that a sea turtle changed my life.. as you know they have conservatories there to help the babies survive their dangerous trek to the sea. I happened upon a momma laying over 100 eggs over a period of two or more hours completely oblivious to anyone around and once done she walked back to the sea and I helped dig some of her eggs to put in a safe hatchery.
I had been SO miserable and my trip was coming to an end. I lost a lot in a short period of time and felt really insignificant.. that one turtle moved me in so many ways I just can’t begin to explain but I vowed that night to remove some of the things that were really creating some DEEP depression in my life. I can never see a turtle and not be reminded of that momma who worked SO hard that night. She will never know if her babies even made it alive. Isn’t that crazy?
Aww that is so inspiring! This experience totally changed my life too. Just seeing that beautiful momma really changed my perspective to not make so many mindless decisions that hurt our wildlife. I am such an advocate to help protect our marine life now. Turtles have become my favorite animal after this encounter! It is crazy how such a little turtle can do so much for us!

@@KristenandSam I was gonna comment.but wanted to confirm first. These baby turtles go into the sea and did you know they come back in a year or so to the spot their mom laid their eggs?

Thank you so much! The pools are not heated, but when we were there the water was warm from the sun! Same with the ocean!

Do you recommend Valentin for a fall visit Oct bday trip undecided between Valentin, Atelier, and Secrets Vine? Where would you recommend for 45-55 yr old group of friends?
Hello! The Valentin crowd tends to run in your age group, so I think that it is perfect for you guys! The Valentin is more of a relaxing resort compared to the Cancun resorts where you would find party like people. It just depends on the vibe that you are looking for. Although, depending on the crowd, the Valentin can get lively! We are actually thinking about returning in the fall time because that is when the sea turtles start hatching :). You do have to keep in mind that it's hurricane season and more rainy weather and mosquitos, but you will get that at whatever resort you choose.
Great vlogs. I love the Valentin but have been too worried to book. How did you find being there during the pandemic?
Michelle Ingham we loved it there! We have not been there before at full capacity so I cant speak on how different it was, but we felt very safe there! It was so relaxing! Some activities were cut out and dining was changed so if you are willing to give those up, It is definitely worth it! Not to mention the amazing prices right now!

Michelle Ingham we used the hotel’s website! They have sales on the weekends and we signed up for the web exclusive deal and got a bit of money off too

me and my wife are planning to go in November. Did the snorkeling or anything cost extra?
Yes, the excursions were extra cost. If I remember correctly, the coral reef snorkeling was $50/person and the cenote/sea turtle excursion was $90 per person

Were there many mosquitoes?
The only time that we noticed mosquitos was on one of our excursions not at the resort
