    For new players it's more important to learn how to play before focusing on best units. You can get very far with just 3 and 4 stars which are much cheaper to build, and more importantly, they teach you how to play. Destroying early content with a strong unit is a waste.

    Since I got Texas Alter I use her in EVERYTHING!
    Crowd Control, Boss Killing, Emergency Deployment, etc...She is simply too useful.
    And as a bonus she has one of the best drips in the entire game.

    You should consider Lumen and Nightingale for Best Medics, Lumen gives good single-target heal and his status effect removal can be super useful, and Nightingale give a massive amount of RES to your operators with her S3, Arts shields to operators, + the little summons that have taunt and can take hits for you. Ptilopsis also provides strong AoE healing + massive SP recovery boost. For Specialists, you should have mentioned Jaye/Lee. For Guards, Nearl the Radiant Knight is an excellent ‘fast-redeploy’ operator with her shields and high attack. For Supporters, Gnosis is an excellent character for Freeze and RES reduction while providing damage, and Suzuran debuffs and slows enemies while healing operators with her 3rd skill. For Defenders, Blemishine is also a strong pick, with her massive heals and Sleep niche. For Casters, Ebenholz is excellent for killing Elite or Boss enemies. For Snipers, Kroos the Keen Glint is very strong, basically budget Exusiai who can also stun enemies, and Ash is also super good.

    solid vid my man. i luckily have evry single op except some of the progresssion locked and i also have to say that texas alter is the best unit by far but i think yato is very close behind her, sometimes even texas redeployment time is even too long. most of the time i play saileach since i like her the most of the flagbearers and then texas alter, yato kirin and nearl alter skill which is in my opinion very underrated. with this team you can finish most content with your favourite operators, that might not be so good like blackknight, cantabile, kazemaru or rockrock, i havent used mlynar and surtr for a long time except for the very hardest stages

  • @Milennin
    @Milennin Před 7 měsíci +1

    My vote would also go to Texas Alter as #1 best unit in the game. Yeah, Myrtle is good, but it's not like there's a ton of other Vanguards who are also great alternatives, if for whatever reason, you don't want to use her. What Texas Alter brings to the table, you can't replicate with any single other unit, and everything about her is just stupidly broken.

    Bagpipe is mostly good because of the flagpipe strat. She allows you to instantly gain dp fast due to her second talent just by being on the team (and gives even more with her module), her dps even with the skill is lackluster compared to actual dps units

  • @oomfie_rhine
    @oomfie_rhine Před 7 měsíci +6

    Hey, 2.5 year AK player here. You can consider my views too complex, your choice. I mostly agree with ZTL's views but I think there are points for improvement:
    -Guard wise, Skadi is not that good anymore. Her role, a fast-redeploy, has been completely overthrown by the true fast redeploys, Yato2 and Texas2. Discussing the power values of the guards you mentioned will take a while, so I'll skip and do a seperate comment if I feel motivated. A future guard, Degenbreacher, breaks the entire burst dps niche that any guard possibly has in half, and easily dominates 90% of the entire guard cast.
    -Sniper wise, there are multiple extreme carries in the future, being Typhon and Ray. Those will dominate the competition in the class, and will outclass Pozemka. Exusiai is only viable when enemies are debuffed and she herself is buffed, as the current environment does not allow her to be decent.
    -Caster's section is good enough, but you underevaluated Ifrit. She is still one of the much better choices for casters. The majority of the caster class still has a crisis of not really having a way of piercing resistance to deal noticable arts damage, so they aren't in a good spot.
    -Medics, you forgot to mention Nightingale, a unit that can give incoming arts damage a middle finger. Along with a summon to take hits away from the squad while being very tanky resistance-wise and a third skill invalidating arts damage, she deserves to be in the top 3 of the medics, alongside Kal'tsit and Reed alter.
    -Supporters, Ling is completely braindead. You deploy a tanky ass summon that only has a 70-ish cooldown to be replenished and it will most likely never die unless a hard-hitting elite comes, then you can deploy another one to stack them up and do it all over again, enough to get multiple dragons back in the meantime. I'll say it again, the bar of entry for Ling's "high" performance is very, very low. Skadi alter is a decent healer and buffer, but she can be easily slotted in with a better damage dealer/a medic to take care of the threat/assist with healing. She, at the end, is a comfort
    choice.
    -Specialists, they're mostly just niches all around. Specter Alter is a bit above average with her module, and only with her module.She requires it to enable the doll form's highest potential. Gladiia summons a tornado, not tsunamis. She is only a hookmaster that can deal damage, and just an average amount at that. She can be easily replaced by better damage dealers.
    Now for the top 3, woo boy.
    -I completely disagree with the flagbearers' placement. It should be flipped over, with saileach, elysium and myrtle in descending order. The buffs, debuffs and everything else saileach provides along with decent dp generation either is a big chunk better, or easily dwarfs what the other two brings. Elysium? Defense debuff, slow enemies, reveal invisible; argubly good standalone, but not better. Myrtle? A healing talent, for vanguards. Barely influential.
    -Second place should have been reed alter, chalter, surtr and texas/yato duo. Reed2, chalter and surtr do a fair lot on their own and with others, but it is not higher than the first option. Texas and yato may be very good panic buttons to delete holes, but they cannot patch them. You want a permanent option.
    -First place, to no surprise, is Mlynar. It is with no overestimation that he is THE best unit in the game, full stop. Extremely high damage over a cycle that you can easily stall out and control is just a very impressive role he dominates over. His lack of damage offskill is easily compensated by the massive output when he uses his sword.
    Further analysis over this video is impossible due to how much I could write in youtube comments. Sorry if this is not comprehensive. The rankings of this video is very flawed by default due to how basic it is, but I cannot do much.
    Units being at just third or second place does not mean they are much worse than the first. The gaps between them vary in size.
    In the end, this is purely a singleplayer game. The playstyle's choice is yours. Play with big numbers, with your favorites, you are free to do anything.
    If you want to discuss actual powervalues however, do it responsibly. Do not let bias get to you.
    TL;DR: ZTL's video is shallow and did not go into good details of the partially wrong actual rankings, and has a sprinkle of bias.
    Have a nice day.

    • @alexanderlevi9558
      @alexanderlevi9558 Před 7 měsíci +3

      Ling is the complete opposite of braindead. You need full knowledge of the map to "best" use her. That's why people don't like her, she fills unit costs on her own so if you use her you either fully commit to her (with map knowledge) or it's a waste to bring her in.
      As for Mlynar being the best i disagree completely.
      Lots of things can happen when he is off-skill resting. And in later and harder stages in the game he also ain't soloing bosses no more (not even with Warfarin)

    • @oomfie_rhine
      @oomfie_rhine Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@alexanderlevi9558
      Ling eating your deployment slots is not a valid enough argument, especially when her summons are very tanky, deals a crap ton of damage with decent cost, and easily disposable and replenishable
      Her “best” usage needs a high skill ceiling, but the bulk of her performance is easily achievable even in tandem with other units. If you can justify usage of kaltsit even though she eats two slots, I simply don’t see why you can’t make the case for ling.
      Mlynar doing nothing offskill is absolutely irrelevant to your argument when he obliberates everything in sight onskill. His skill cycle is already around 40% so his presence is much more abundant than you make it out to be.
      Warfarin is a horrible teammate for mlynar due to his low base attack. If you knew enough to crap about mlynar, you should know why his downsides are that way, and how easily they are compensated.
      Give me an example of a high-end boss mlynar cannot solo damage in a reasonable timeframe, and I’ll consider reevaluating his placement.

    • @alexanderlevi9558
      @alexanderlevi9558 Před 7 měsíci

      @@oomfie_rhine when talking about Ling unit cost is ALWAYS something you gotta talk about. You don't just gloss over it. What is the usual unit costs normally? 10? Well 2 big dragons eats half of that. Kaltsit mon3 is healable so usually stays on the field which is better than the dragons that constantly ties you to keep an eye on them and btw you mean the big dragon is tanky and once it's gone it takes a while to get another one out due to the nature of it being a fusion of 2 small ones, for Kaltsit the big tanky beast is out immediately. You don't just push under the carpet those facts. Same thing as my argument that a player needs map knowlegde if they wanna best use her. And why you need map knowledge? Well you need to deal with 2 cooldowns when using her, skill cooldown and summon cooldown, DP costs, dragons not directly healable so that you constantly have to micromanage. I would say with confidence she is THE ONE 6* that you don't wanna use when going to a stage blind
      As for Mlynar what the heck is that argument about his low base atk? How does that have any affect with Warfarin buffing him during when he uses his skill for the added atk?
      Mlynar has a 42 SP cost for his S3 which while being better than SA is still a lenghty waiting time, fast paced stages are a problem for him. You referring that he taunts range attack? Depending on the stage that can be a downside.
      As for bosses well, are you doing the CQs versions of them?

    • @darkfallSK
      @darkfallSK Před 7 měsíci

      I like your analysis and put my own comment a little while ago, but I’ll say this: As a F2P, Myrtle and Elysium hold more value bc you can reduce their cost with pots much more easily. HOWEVER, Saileach at Pot 6 or even pot 2 can be far better for an account than the other two. The problem is that many people put their free 6* CC pots into Bagpipe or have in the past, and thus it’s hard to get her going over the other two. Taking that into account, I value the other two over her. But I can tell you’re very in sync with the meta as am I, so good points. 🫡
