This was timed beautifully to the song xD
Ikr lol
5:25 - 5:53- You don't know what "EXHILARATING" means until you entered a boss fight against a giant cyber dragon, at super sonic mode, flying in the air at mach speed, while listening to this part of this kickass song!!!! 😁
My God the timing with Wyvern's roar and the second phase of the song is PERFECT.
@@-megawolf-805 IKR!?!?!? 😀 When I first reached this moment in the cutscene movie that I was watching, I was like "holy crap, this is AMAZING!!!! 😁😁😁"

I really like how time passes in the overworld as the fight goes on. For us, this fight is only a few minutes but in game Sonic has been throwing down with this beast for hours!
Not hours, Days
@@smithydavis1033 thats honestly scary, super sonic is a force not to be toyed with.
Thats actually really cool to think about, imagine being knuckles watching that brawl for hours
Ties with the dragon ball theory that fights are actually much faster, but the scenes are slowed down so that our mortal eyes are able to comprehend something
I'm not sure about the timeflow scale or speedscale, how fast does time flows in that planet?
Super sonic's speed and strength is increased by 1000% combined with his normal strength.
After so many years... Super Sonic is *finally* worthy of the term _super_ once more.

@@mooganifywhat do you think
Super sonic was always worthy
The bosses in this game are just something else. Not sure how they’re ever gonna top them
They have pretty basic attack patterns. The next game could make them more complex.
Seriously I just beat this boss and its already one of my favorite Sonic bosses in a long time
If sonic team kept doing bosses like this in future sonic games I wouldn’t blame them they’re epic
Mechanically, these are pretty basic. It's rather clunky and definitely relies on the spectacle but dammit it's actually working here. The best encounters we had till now were most of the generations fights (you could argue most of those are still better mechanically though). I think for the next game we could still do this level of spectacle but design it around enemies at roughly the same size as Sonic. High end rival battles essentially. IDK if you still do it with Super Sonic though, that might be best as a one and done.
It kinda is like a power trip in a way I’m ok with it not being as complex this time around, but I would love to see them step it up for some truly memorable shit, the groundwork here is amazing
I like how Sonic flinched when Knuckles punched at him, possibly referencing the beginning of Sonic 3
Omg lol I didn't think about that
But sonic doesn't flinch in base Cutscene when they 1st meet up.
@@ataladin87 it wouldn't matter to normal Sonic, Knuckles can punch the emeralds out of Super Sonic though.
I thought of that when I saw the cutscene
@Loo No he isn't. They are the same person and everyone treats him like normal when he goes to super mode. He just flinched because Knuckles can punch the chaos emeralds out of him. If he isn't super a punch from Knuckles would just be a punch. He doesn't want to loose the emerald power he has at the moment so he flinches back.
4:55 that part of the song fit perfectly with super sonic throwing the titan into the hill 🔥

Wyvern fight in a nutshell: Don't know how to parry? *It's time to learn*
Spoiler warning you definitely need to learn for what is to come
Oh, 100% that was my experience with this fight. Oddly made me enjoy just that much more, as the only other titan to give me any actual struggle was the knight one, and that second saw that just bounces around like what you have to do with the sumo guardian bot.
Im never good at parrying so this took me 5 attempts..

Let’s all appreciate the fact that they made a unique themes for each of the area bosses, and that every single one is a goddamn BANGER!
These titan fights are the best part of the game by a wide margin. This is Super Sonic cutting loose, and showing just how strong he *really* is.
Wyvern is my favorite boss battle by far, the spectacle of it all is so impressive, and it just feels so cool to pull a win against it
also I can't get over the fact that SUPER SONIC FLINCHES WHEN KNUX PUTS HIS FIST OUT, THEY REFERENCED S3&K, IT'S SO GOOD
I was legitimately blown away. When he fucking balls up those missles and kicks it right back at Wyvern LIKE WHAT THE FUCK LOL SO FUCKING SICKKKKKKKK
I really liked the flinching moment
Did you think wyvern is the most underrated out of the Titan bosses because of it’s banger Theme?
Is that a reference?
@@mooganify I think it's the moment Super Sonic is flying towards Angel Island and Knuckles surprise attacks out of nowhere, kicking the Emeralds out of him. It kinda makes sense he is able to just take them out of him, considering Knuckles's race is actually the guardians of the Emeralds, him being the last echidna alive to do so.
Anyway, if that's the moment they are talking about, it's either a very vague reference, or is no reference at all.
This gave me FINAL HAZARD vibes while playing it. We never got adventure 3, but this game feels like what i imagined that would be
This is more Sonic Adventure 2 than Sonic Adventure 2
Because Frontiers while taking place after Forces story, feels like it was made as Adventure 1 Continuity
@@RenoKyrie The characters in cutscenes make several direct references to the bosses of past games, the Eclipse Cannon, the Babylonians, the Black Arms, and basically everything but 06 and Chronicles, all gets used to measure the Ancients' technology and culture.
So really, it's kinda ALL the games that happened in Sonic's world. The Ancients being what they are is a strong connection to SA1's lore, but I wouldn't disregard the rest is all I'm saying.
Sonic 2006 is Adventure 3.
@@Alex1986Dec That's what I always felt as well even though that exact opinion seperates the fans even the main menu was saying stuff like "pick your story hero or dark" like the older games did it followed the Adventure formula in ways so I always considered it Adventure 3.
Its a shame that game wasn't that good cause Mephiles is my all time favorite villian cause he was the only enemy to succeed in his plan and he was evil as hell.

I love how unique Wyvern was compared to the other bosses cuz in its sequence,it had both Sonic and the Wyvern fly all over the place as they fight. That was pretty damn cool,IMO.
Also, just now I found out that you only need to parry the missile to attack it.
My dumbass thought I needed to dodge it until I get to the part where Sonic is allowed to attack
I remember getting here and being like “oh, it’s like a classic Super Sonic chase boss! And immediately knew to reflect the missiles. Since most Super Sonic fights are just Sonic chasing down the boss and deflecting their attacks back or ramming them (Doomsday, Moon Zone, True Area 53, Nonagression, Metal Overlord, both Sonic Rush final bosses, and Pocket Adventure)
@@Scorpionspear77 Well,I've only played like,2 modern sonic games as of Frontiers.Ig that could explain why I was unable to figure it out

I literally got Dragonball vibes from this boss….holy sh*t Sonic Team you guys out did yourselves
IMO, this is the best boss fight in the game, even though it can be hard on the eyes sometimes. It has the best theme, especially when gets to the second part of the song and just seeing Super Sonic grabbing the Wyvern’s tail and going Super Mario 64 on its ass was raw as heck.
5:56 this is too cool
5:15 Wyvern Vibing To The OST
This honestly feels like Doomsday Zone all over again. A giant flying robot throwing rockets at you, while flying at fast speeds and you’re Super Sonic. Brings me nostalgia when I played Doomsday Zone for the first time.
I didn't know you could Parry the missiles I didn't figure that out until my second try
The only thing downside about frontiers is the fact we only have 3 save slots and an auto save slot. This game is too fun!
Imagine going to swat a fly and then it picks parries the flyswatter, picks you by it, and then powerbombs you.
That's what's happening here.
Super Sonic had vietnam flashbacks when Knuckles nearly punched him @ 8:05
The missile explosion at 4:31 syncing with the music is *chefs kiss
the brass instruments that you hear in the first part of the boss really reminded me of the distinct style of cutscene music ohtani brought in 06 and unleashed. sonic is finally back to being cool
The way Sonic grabs the titan and just yeets it into a mountain is sick af. This game truly captures previously unprecedented levels of Super Sonic badassery.
I swear, Super Sonic's doing the Goku throw (which is spinning him around) towards Wyvern with little effort 🤣🤣
Hou mean his signature Dragon Throw?
@@jw_gojifan19 yeah, that one (at least, that's how it looks like to me)
P.S. I had no idea what the throw's name was
Bruh Super Sonic looks so badass here
Man, I thought this boss was already the shit, didn't know you could parry the rockets and throw him into a fucking MOUNTAIN.
Dead serious, this is the best Sonic boss fight...ever. The music, the spectacle, the challenge, it is all perfect. Absolutely flawless.
Wyvern: Fires missles at sonic
Sonic: WHAT COMES AROUNDDDD COMES BACK AROUND AGAINNNN
Ok so idk if anyone else has said this, but this boss fight reminds me of the Doomsday Zone from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Dodging missiles, collecting rings along the way, and dealing some damage when you can.
It even has the loopy things from Doomsday Zone!
I agree, it’s like they made Wyvern 'The Doomsday Zone 3D'!
6:01 Holy shit I cannot express HOW HARD THIS PART WENT.
So do you hold down x or press it multiple times? I’m stuck on that tiny part…
At this moment I knew that Sonic was back and better than ever
I remember when I was a child. I used to really like bosses because a lot of them made me feel like a badass. This game made me feel like a child again with the ost and bosses
As epic as this fight is, it also serves as a showcase for how OP the parry is. I spent a solid hour on this boss because I completely forgot that all you need to do to pull of a parry is hold down the shoulder buttons, and that you don’t need to worry at all about timing it right. As soon as I remembered that, I beat this in one attempt.
I wish I knew this 2 hours ago before I finally beat the thing just now… wouldve made this much easier. The way I was playing I literally compared this boss fight to the difficulty of Elden ring bosses.
Holding parry didn’t work for me for some reason.
I absolutely love how it transitions from a shadow of the collosus-style 'just survive' type of gameplay until you get the 7th chaos emerald... Then it becomes devil may cry 😂
i absolutely love how cinematic and over-the-top all of these bossfights are, its amazing
What I would give to play this all over again holy jesus
Dear god I have PTSD from this fight lol. It took me AGES but I eventually beat it..! Was I the only one that felt the parries were WAY too precise? Music *STILL* rocks though.
The dlc 💀
It took me a while to get the hang of it because I felt like the parries were NOT working. Thank God for the flying rings or I would've been toast 😅
if we don't get a song and super sonic scene like this in the Sonic 3 movie, ima riot
These sonic boss fights are different and just something that we been missing. I love it.!!❤
6:02 My boy was smiling as missiles were being shot at him! I love it! 😃
Fighting while the sun is rising
Holy crap that hit different
To think that somewhere out there during this epic ass fight there is an italian plumber fighting a overgrown turtle with spikes on its shell.
Which both of them turn out to be rivals
Holy shit this was such an awesome fight. Tougher than the first fight because you have to party everything and then the music, it just brings it all together. Such a badass sonic game
Thanks for the vid big guy
I love the moment where Super Sonic swings the wyvern’s tail to the rocky mountain which felt like a reference to Super Mario 64 where you swinging on Bowser’s tail towards the spike bombs
Just got to this part this morning and I was already really enjoying this game but god damn this boss fight really was the first time in YEARS where I really had that moment of "Holy shit, they really did it. They brought back MY Sonic" This is the first time in a really long time it felt like I played a game with the Sonic I fell in love with all those years ago as a little kid who thought Sonic was badass and would spend hours listening to AMVs with really edgy music lol. Very glad to feel like this again and I'm really hyped now to see the next bosses
This is my favourite boss in the game. I'm jealous of this guy's fight with Wyvern, music fit so well with the quick time events, mine wasnt. I like the part where the it say 'What comes around, come back around again' and just as the is happening super sonic is leading all the missiles wyvern through at him back to wyvern
They did it, they perfected modern Sonic
I went into this fighting not thinking you could parry the missles
This is the most metal Sonic has ever been.
Wyvern was peak Super Sonic, I am kind of sad Supreme didn't fly away like this
I NEVER KNEW YOU COULD THROW HIM!? NOW I WANNA GO BACK TO THAT FIGHT
This game is just pure art, i love it
7:44
Man they made Super Sonic so cool this time!
Thank you as i was stuck not knowing what I needed to do
I haven't finished the game yet but i did this part earlier today and wow! The music gets you hyped up for this fight so well, the only other time i felt like that was in halo 2 racing through in a warthog with Steve Vai just wailing away on guitar
Hold down both left and right triggers to parry the Wyvern's claw
For some reason it didn’t work for me
It took me three or four tries to defeat this boss. First, I kept running out of rings and getting hit. Then I didn't press the square button in time when the missiles came at me. But then I finally beat it lol.
Highly satisfying right? I felt like I won a war almost. I was surprised to beat it
@@tombreyder6719 Haha, yeah.

I think my favorite part is near the end when Wyvern tries ramming Sonic in a drill fashion. The little pause makes me think Wyvern's thinking "... hold on, this didn't go the way I thought it would at all..."
And then he screams as he realizes he's dun goofed.
The only thing that really spoils the fight are the black screens that transitions from one game state to another
I think it gives it a distinct style, like time passed during the fight
The music though for these bosses are great for this.
7:14 JARVIS…you ever hear the tale of Jonah?
Did anyone else get stuck in an endless loop of not being able to hit him
I would love for them to add a boss rush mode in a future update or dlc
Or even letting us fight harder versions of the bosses (faster attacks that are harder to parry, more hp, faster ring depletion, etc.)
I love how super sonic just activates screamo then proceeds to annihilate the boss
Beat this guy earlier and boy oh boy this is how you make a fun boss fight.
Sonic Frontiers has not only the best boss fights but also the best Boss songs... Change my mind.
The bosses are fun and intense at the same time. If you don’t know what you’re doing this boss could be a pain but this boss is amazing and definitely the music
I hate that my very favorite part of the song was about to play, but it stopped right as it got to it....The beautiful singing/ harmony on "We'll be lost in the rain"....
Gives me goosebumps. Soooo happy they got Kellin Quinn for this!
6:59 look at this! I took 9 million steps today
Y'know these fights are much cooler when you don't didn't that one attack
I thought there was no way this would reach how good giganto’s fight was, boy was I wrong
Well shit. I didnt realize you could parry the missiles lol. I just though it was a bullet hell thing and had to dodge them.
In my opinion, the wyvern battle is the best super sonic boss battle in sonic frontiers.
I mean, knight and giganto were good bosses, but this one. The wyvern battle was just cool for the fact that both it and super sonic are flying, and they're battling over the entire map.
What goes around comes back around again
( Proceeds to collect every missile that is coming to him and then kicks them back at the boss )
Pure badassery
