Delicious & Easy Sopa de Fideo- How to Make Fideo

- Hello Everyone! Today I will be showing you how to make Deb's Delicious & Easy Sopa de Fideo. It is so easy to make and is perfect for some cold days. I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients
-2 Tbsp canola oil
-7 oz bag Fideo
-8 oz can tomato sauce
-2 Tbsp. Dehydrated onion or sliced fresh onion
-3 tbsp chicken bouillon ( I use knorr powder)
*Sliced cheddar cheese as per your preference. I added about 1/2 C
Instructions
In a deep frying pan heat oil until hot, or add 1 piece of video and if it sizzles, you are ready to add the whole bag.
With a spoon or spatula stir your fideo continuously until dark golden. Do not walk away from your stove or your Fideo will easily burn. It is important that your fideo is golden to prevent it from getting mushy. Once fideo is golden ,vadd one can of tomato sauce and stir until well Incorporated to fry your tomato sauce with your fideo. Add 4 cups of water , 3 tablespoons of powdered bouillon and 2 Tbsp dehydrated onions. Make sure you're bouillon is stirred well , cover ,cook on high heat until fideo comes to rolling boil. At this point you will turn your fideo down to medium-low, or the point where you ar have a gentle boil. Cook 15 minutes, do not lift lid, you can shake the handle if you like every so often or every five minutes.
Once fideo is done, stir in half of your cheese giving it a quick gentle stir, top with remaining cheese ,cover a few minutes until cheese is melted and enjoy!
*( if you don't have the powder you can also use cube bouillon, making sure to dissolve it completely,in your water, using hot water)

Also , when you said it would be good with a homemade buttered tortilla. Reminds me of my gramma , she told me her favorite thing on the way to school she would grab one of her mama's homemade tortillas and put a little butter and salt and eat it on the way. . my beautiful gramma passed away 5 months ago . She was my best friend and she was an awesome cook too. Miss her so much. Seeing you make beans with your great nephew reminded me of her too. Just thought I'd share. God bless. 💗💐

My grandma would do this for us as kids too! More so after school though, she would make homemade flour tortillas. As a kid I remember running into her house and you would smell homemade tortillas being made. She'd give us one, slap some butter on it - so goooood! Then sometimes she'd have homemade beans cooking, she'd give us bean tacos. My grandma had so many grand babies that bean tacos and butter tacos were the way to go.

My friend taught me how to make Fidel. It has been a life saver many times when I forgot to thaw meat. Everyone loved it. I recently made it for my sister and she request me to make it at least 3 times a month and she could eat it all( at different times) I will be a regular watcher of your videos.

M'mm. Just made a small pot,plain with onions. Didn't have a potato. Here in Cali it's beginning to get a bit chilly so yes this dish always takes me back to my grandma. Best cook in the world. And that is how my Tias became awesome cooks as well. Thanks for the video.🤗😇

Hi, so far I have seen 2 of your Mexican recipes and I'm so happy to see that they are so authentic, my mother taught me the rice recipe, and the fideo recipe, and my mom was an authentic Mexican lady who past away more the a year ago, but left me knowing all these types of recipes. All of the basics are right on point with how my mom made them, but as we know good recipes still vary slightly from kitchen to kitchen. Great job I actually like my fideo more watery almost like broth with noodles, but then that just goes to each person preferences. Hope to see more of your cooking recipes, bye

This looks like y Grandmas and Mom's recipe. Simple but very tasty. Part of what makes it tasty is because you fry or rown the canned tomatoes. Sometimes to get me to eatveggies they would add peas.

I have been looking for this recipe! Normally I make fideo with onions and peppers and diced tomatoes, dry rather than a soup. But years ago I had the flu and a young Mexican neighbor made me some sopa de fideo that I swear got me right up out of my sick bed. She served it with cilantro and a lime wedge. Thank you!

It's always a simple and delicious dish. Usually once it sits for a while it dries up and gets a little thicker. My mom used to always make it for my kids when they were young. The littles usually enjoy this and I make it for my grandkids now 🥰

So real when you said you have 10 kids to feed! Nana took care of us grandkids when we got hungry in the morning it was corn flakes con apples or arroz con leche. Lunch fideo/ sopita with quesadillas. We were always very well fed and ready to pass out at nap time! Miss her so much!

I don't care if I know how to make some of your recipes because I just love coming up on them and watching them because you remind me of my tias and my grandma. Plus, I usually learn something!! : ) I made your instant pot beans the other night and left them like you said to slow release and that is the difference right there!!! I couldn't get my beans right in the instant pot and now I've been eating them everyday because they are so delicious. And who knew the season salt?? I sure didn't!! I don't eat pork and I really miss using the bacon grease, but the season salt really gets them so delicious!! Thank you Ms. Deb - I just love watching your videos. You can tell you're old school and that's what us Gen X folks are used to!! Lol!! God Bless!!

Very similar to how my abuelita made it. Me and my cousins would mix it with her beans and cottage cheese. She also would cook it with a chicken drumstick. So good. Mmmm

This is the way my mother taught me how to make it. My husband’s family never use cheese. When he married me and I added cheese, he said what in the world are you doing. I’m making this recipe now to go with my grill cheese. 😋
I gathered fresh veggies from my garden today, roasted them in the oven, then blended them and added 21/2 cups of water and the powdered seasonings. Poured it into my toasted Fideo. Y’all it was delicious.

Glad to discover this video I grew up with fideo and I don't remember the the name but as a kid I called it star soup(had little star noodle/pasta) my mom passed it down to the females in my family but never taught me. I have my ingredients and am gonna make it for breakfast today l. A cold front came in last night so it's windy and raining right now it will be great. Fideo and also sauteed veggies and chorizo for the main meal.
