Isn’t that the 3rd farthest? R. Crouser 23.32 R. Crouser 23.30, and now Kovacs with 23.23. Either way it’s highly impressive and I love the competition these 2 bring to each other.
3rd Farthest competition result. Second farthest mark all time because each athlete only gets one mark put in for the rankings.

Everybody says drop the left heel for right handed throwers at the toe board. Joe Kovacs has never dropped the left heel at the toe board.
I noticed that too. Joe is not the tallest guy and with him getting on the toe it makes his height at release just a few inches higher which he needs.
Not the second furthest throw ever but truly amazing, nonetheless.
