You seem indecisive....here is a tip.... List all the things you want in your apartment like granite countertops, two bedrooms, Close to school, and how much you want to spend a month. The apartment that has most of your qualifications is the one you go for. At the end of the day you're the one that's going to be living in the apartment not your viewers.
exactly!
Eyyy
+Nikkia Matthews 100%
THANKS NIKKIA, VERY GOOD ADVICE!!
I like all the apartments. of I had to choose it would the 3rd one that's farthest away. You're a very responsible student so I don't think getting to the College will be a problem for you. I love the balcony on it, all the upgraded finishings and also the second bedroom just because you can do a glam room or a film room. Also, I feel once you graduate you won't be so pressed to move away so fast because you won't be too close to the college. If that makes any sense at all. Lol
if*
Yea me to
Couldn't have said it better perfect comment 👌🏾
#1 is cute but #3 is cute AND looks homey as well! 20 minutes isn't that far, it seems like it would be worth it lol
20 minutes doesn't seem far at first.. But once you start having to drive to school everyday w a 20 minute drive.. It starts to become a huge inconvenience
+Oma Nessence well I live almost 30 minutes from my college and I'm good lol. Everyone's different!
+Oma Nessence amen
+Oma Nessence mannn it's better than a 2+hr commute
I think staying close to your school would be prudent. It's easy right now to just imagine a drive but you'll be thankful you live close for extra study/sleep time once school has actually begun
second this
I think you should get the one with that balcony and the two bed room would be nice too because I know you want a space to make your vlogs and what not thats not necessarily in your actually bedroom.
agreed
Girl get luxury if you can! #3 totally!
Girl. They are all nice but get whatever is the cheapest. That way you can still save and be comfortable. Just in case some unforeseen things happen (God Forbid) you wanna still be able to comfortably pay your rent. And you also wanna include your utilities as well. Light, gas, water and other things as well. Total that all up and see your figures and you can decide from there where you are most financially comfortable. Good luck with everything!!
Loved apartment 3, however I would try to stay a bit closer to school just for convince. Also, if you have a 2 bedroom, you can use one for a filming room. But I'm sure you'll make the right decision 😘
Everytime I watch your videos I realize how much I need to get my life togethaaa!! 😣😩
right !
This is how I want to be at 21 !!!!!! Her independence is on FLEEKKKK
Btw I'm 17 turning 18 next yr.
i liked the second one with the balcony! seems like it will be real pretty at night, plus you can make any house a home with the decor!!
First think," Is this place simply for this last year of school for do I plan to live here AFTER I graduate?" The HONEST answer to THAT will set in motion your other decisions because if you are only staying until you get your degree and have plans to move near your dad, back to NC, NYC or even Cali, WHO CARES about paying extra for granite countertops and steel refrigerators!? Those bells and whistles only serve a purpose for those making an apartment their HOME for more than 1 years lease. I say, get something close to school that isn't all that since there is nothing you can write off for taxes...save that money (either yours or your parents) for investing in a Condo in the desired area once you have your degree; that way your countertops and costly appliances will be of value either to you while living there or to your resale value.( You gotta make your CZcams money work for you because you ARE single, self employed with NO DEPENDENTS and the CZcams-man givith, but the Tax-man TAKE-ITH away....and Uncle Sam takith away BIG TIME for self employed with no Dependants with or without itemization!
I can't wait for home decor, apartment tour, etc videos! 🙌🏽😩❤️
I can not wait to get to this point of life!!So exciting
#1, two bedroom! 17 minutes is closer than 20 & looks more spacious, especially if you get the one with the den! Good luck!
I agree
I think you should consider the first one or second one because the 3rd one even tho is stunning and in the middle of everything, like you said, is farther and is not the fact that you're no responsible, but life happens and what if you forget something at homr? what if you're really tired and need a nap between classes?or what if you have a clothe malfunction and would like to go home and change.... anything can happen when you're a college student so, I think that's a factor you should really consider.
That's a really good point
Good advice 🙃
That was the most beautiful and organized looking DMV I'd ever seen, the few I've been to here in OH are always a MESS. I had to renew my license before my 21st birthday because it expired on my birthday and I was going to be out of town, so sadly mine still has the restriction bars and when I'm carded people always take forever to read it because they still see the bars. All the furniture and decorations in the first apartment were sooo my style, I would have been like "Uh can I just keep all this when I move in please!?" I like the first apartment and last apartment best.
Girl I'm from Ohio and you are soooo right
Always a Hot mess
+Zaa 1Luv right?! It's always full of people and their bad ass kids and the place always looks like a tornado hit it. Pitiful lmao
I actually love the first apartment, lol I can't believe you're moving out on your own in the DMV already! DC apartment prices make me shudder, I'm not looking forward to apartment shopping at all lol
Absolutely loved the the first unit you showed that was the two bedroom and closer to campus. When I was a full-time student, I found it beneficial to still be close to campus especially during mid-terms, group projects, finals etc. when the library had extended hours and just the convenience of being close for class because that is the focal point. I loved having my own place and continuing to grow and transition to the next level of adulthood but being close kept me grounded and focused on the sole purpose of why I was there!!
I love how motivated and on track you are your young getting your apartment by yourself that's an amazing accomplishment I love your independence
1st place with 2 bedroom is really nice and not as far as the 3rd and not too close to the school!! If it has little shops, and stores near by that would be perfect. but Honestly being a student you just like to roll out of bed and go to class ... you really got to weigh the pros and cons. Im sure you will make the right decision. BTW I WAS HOPING TO COME TO NYC BEFORE YOU LEFT BUT MY TRIP KEEPS GETTING POSTPONED!!! :'(
just got super excited about apartment hunting in the near future
Factor in cost, time, space, and location...once you narrow down the specifics of what you want to spend, the time it takes to get to school, the amount of space you'll have, and stores etc...you'll be able to get to quicker, I think you'll be able to narrow it down. They all were nice and provided perfect lighting for filming! Good luck & congratulations!
You've come along way . Very happy for you
I love the the first apartment but they were all very nice. I know you had mentioned wanting to be far from school but also think about if you're going to want to make that drive everyday.
I'm In Love With The Last One !
I'm so proud of you Jaya u go girl. just love the way you follow your dreams and go for what you want and don't let anything stop you
number 3!!! a 20 minute ride is totally okay, especially if you're in the heart of all the shopping/food areas!
You are the most ambitious CZcamsr
I like the 1st apartment best. it had to most space and I like that the room are not right next door to each other like the 2nd one. The third apartment is to far but looks nice.
I can image you in the third one you saw! It has so much natural light and the kitchen and bathrooms are gorgeous !
i really liked the first set you showed. the 2 bedroom with the den was amazing. i would make the den a workout rm. it just had the best layout/use of space. best of luck to you sis!!!
I personally liked the one that had the second floor balcony, but all three of them were nice. I would say that you should base your decision regarding the distance on how often you'll have to commute to campus. If you think you'll be on campus more than three days a week I would go for one that's a bit closer. But then again, having all of those stores and restaurants near you is a plus. If you'll only have to be on campus a couple times a week, I would choose the one that's further away. Oh yeah, also factor in the times your classes will be beginning and ending because that'll make the difference between being stuck in work traffic during rush hour. Best of luck!
The 1st apartment was the best !!
*LOVE* the first floor plan! Its so you Jayla!!
That last one was fire girl, super nice but also the one with the view that supposed to light up!
as a college student id say definitely the one closest to school
I like the first one the best!! 😱
Omg 1 and 3 😱😻 but that third one was literally jaw dropping!
I really enjoyed this video! I will be moving into a 2 bedroom myself this summer and I am super excited! I would go with the 1st or 2nd one. I think the more space the better and you will be closer to campus!
when u order pizza and wings and then Jayla posts a video 😆
Jayla you must be getting paid serious $$$$$ from CZcams because I'm a thousand percent sure hat these apartments are luxurious apartments and you'd be paying like 2-3 k a month ! I mean go for it but just make sure this fits your lifestyle. Trust me the idea of living on your own might sound cool but the real world and bills will hit you so quick ! You're very mature and pretty smart to me actually and I think you'll be just fine but yeah just my two cents ! I'm excited for you and proud of you 😊
I love looking at apartment hunting vlogs. Specially when I'm doing the same thing myself. Stressful process 🙄 but I love it!
ur life is so fast pace u have so much going u handle it so well and we rarely see u complain kudos to u
I loved apartment 3 but a 20 minute ride to school tho.........but apartment 1 was also pretty
Price Price, Price!!! you don't want to be house poor. All 3 are nice. You don't really need 2 bedrooms, its just you. You can save that extra money to decorate. And 20 minutes drive isn't bad.
You sound like my mom lol
Yay! I went apartment/house hunting this weekend and it soo exciting! I hope you find your perfect place.
The 1st and 3rd one was really nice. Good luck!
That last one looked expensive AF ,it was gorgeous though!
I think a 2 bed room is good for you and your youtube you can have a separate beauty room
That last one was Beautiful! The view and all and tbh if ur a on time person the drive shouldn't be the bad. Wow I'm super proud of you boo, you deserve it 💖
they all look great, you'll love either one I'm sure!
They were all very nice. I would get the one closest to school.
I swear these notifications be coming in CLUTCH 👌
First of all let me just say I'm super proud of you for always handling yours! All of the apartments were nice. I'm a loner and love my privacy so I personally would get the 2 bedroom near Target. But if you plan on hanging with your sisters and friends and socially enjoying your last year you might want to choose the apartments that are closer. ♥ 😘
The first one is the best girl!! I find it crazy that you are apartment shopping when I just started too!!!
Pick the first one...its close to your school I love how each apartment come with a washer/dryer!!!
Honestly choice #1 or #3 look the best . Good luck on your decision though .
Your hair would look so good with the blonde all throughout
Love the new hair color and so Proud of you. I think the first one
#1 opt 2 layout is perfect for you. It's not to far it's layout was beautiful I would pick stainless-steal and its bright enough for recording. Loved the small office off to the side. Great study room!
I use to live 30 mins away from my school. It wasnt really a problem. I as well use to drive a hr to work a day. I did that for 3 yrs and then moved closer. I am now 20 mins away. I could have moved across the street but I looked at the pros and cons and it is quite pricey to live close to my job.
With that being saying I do not think the distance will be a issue. #3 is a distant but it is close to a lot of other things that may be good.
They were all very nice but I say the 1st one!
Yasss I was in need of a Jayla vlog aka motivation😫but I got it now so I'm happy😊. I love the first apartment second floor plan!! It was so perfect!
Apartment 1 definitely caught my eye. I would try to stay closer to school because you never know how traffic will be especially in Maryland during rush hour. Between the 3 apartments I know you'll make the right decision. Good luck!
between the 2nd and 3rd. 2nd apartment view was really nice and peaceful. 3rd was alot more space. and the master bathroom countertop was great lol all master bathroom countertops should have a lot of space, not just sink space. thats important for us girls
I graduated last may and Id have to say I never liked group projects all my educational career I was always the one stuck doing all the work :/ so glad thats over lol
I loved #1! In my experience, I used to drive 40 minutes round trip to school every day and it was extremely taxing on my system by the time I graduated from college; and not to mention, if I ever overslept for class, I was just outta luck😔. But I can't wait to see apartment decor hauls and room tours regardless of which apartment you choose! ILYSM! 💗💗💗
The very first apt was nice... I like the floor plan the best and like you said I like all the windows too.
#1 is the best and has really good closet space if not that get #3
I think you should get apartment #1 and really splurge if you decide to go to graduate school or wherever you move next.
YAYYY!!!! You are coming back to md !!!
LOVED the two bedroom with the den! But you definitely have some thinking to do they were all really pretty. 😘
Marylands cost of living is so high 😩 I can't wait to move
+Essence Bennett Arizona is pretty cheap but decent
+BB9314101260 you tools the words right out my mouth smh NY is no joke. Its expensive and the rooms are little boxes without all those upgrades
+keish04 took*
True
Try living in Cali girl ain't nothing more expensive then living our here besides NYC I agree 😩
I LOVE the 3rd apartment
#3 apartment I feel is the best choice. I personally just like the floor plan better. And 20-25 mins is nothing. I'm not sure about Maryland traffic, but that's a decent commute! Plus, you're near shopping centers and restaurants...that's a plus!
The 3rd was the most modern and spacious. If you can do a 2 bedroom then go for it! The extra room can be your glam room for vids, etc.
The last one is so cute 😍
I liked the first apartment you went to see the best. I think you should get a two bedroom apartment tho, I just feel like it would fit your lifestyle better. Being a CZcamsr you're most likely going to need a separate beauty/office room or you could just make it a guest room. :)
Jayla came through with vlog!!!
looooovvvveeee the 1st set of apartments with the stainless steel appliances! with the 2 bedrooms and for some reason I love apartment with the on suit bathroom attached to the master bedroom but you still had an unattached bathroom for when your guests come over they ain't gotta be walking through your bedroom to use the bathroom! . .even the one with the den was cool! it just didn't seem to have good lightening so you probably wouldn't use that area to film in, but I could definitely see a huge Christmas tree in that space around Christmas time! so many thing you could do with all the space provided with the first set of apartments! and they look super modern, open concept kitchen!!! and that balcony, yes God won't he do it! I would move there in a heart beat! #2ThumbsUp
#1 and #3 look perfect .
I would go with the 1st one
Jayla back at it again with the bomb ass vlogs 😊😊😊
wow proud of you and your accomplishments... you inspire me to keep taking my college classes and getting my degree
Yes you need to be closer..you know how you like to roll out 10 mins before class *lol I liked the 2 bdrm with Den but thats just because of space. I think you definitely would be better with 2 bdrms or an extra room of some type because of needing space for videos/packages etc. and you have friends who visit so having an extra room for people to visit would be nice. I say if you can afford it get the bigger space. You have been cramped quarters throughout college so I think you deserve to have some breathing room. Since I doubt you will stay in MD after graduation I wouldn't be pressed about granite and all that in anything I wasn't either in long-term or didn't own if that will help cost.
That last apartment was vicious
The second one was the nicest to me. Commuting to school can be a headache especially on lazy days. The closer, the better.
Thank you for taking me out of boredom, Jayla! Always find the right time to post an interesting vlog.
The third one is soo litttttt lol
Where is your leather jacket from? It looks cute
The last apartment was my favorite, and the 2nd apartment in the 1st apartment complex on the 2nd floor is a good option as well.
Push that big whip lil j lol, I like all the apartments, good luck on your journey!
You sure you can't just kidnap Jackie and take her to Maryland when you move?
Lol i know right
+Duckduck Goose lol right!!
20 min isn't along drive and that last apartment is totally worth it.
I love apartment 1, the flooring was a nice touch.
YES!!! Reppin the MD over here lol...but all of the apartments were really nice but I liked the first apartment the best and if its in your budget, I say go for the 2 bedroom. :)
20 min away from school gonna be annoying .... I went to a school like that and had to pack for the day😑 when you get to school and class is canceled 😡
Hey I live in Maryland 😀
Me tooooo
+tiara butler heyyy
+sweethartia Me three!
+TheenaBeena 😌😌hello
🙌🙌🙌🙌
The 3rd one was absolutely amazing. As much as I loved it, I would go with apt #1 because it's closer and it looks nice too.
Number 3 would be the best option. There's a give & take with choosing that one though. It's further away from your school but close to shopping areas. Also, a tip on trying to decide which one to choose is to try & get as much info as possible on each apartment complex. For example, talking to the residents that live there. See if the maintenance team is good. Any complaints about their unit. Check if the workers in the leasing office are actually nice & accommodating. And what kind of people live in the complex. Try & get a good idea on how it would be for you actually living there, before you commit.
I agree. Also read reviews on apartmentratings.com , Google and Yelp. From my experience in apartment living a lot of the "luxury" apartments charge you an arm and a leg and then maintenance is extremely slow, security gates only work twice a month or not at all, or the staff are incompetent but hey the complex looks nice 😒. Everything looks cute on the website and the tour but read the reviews from current tenants who will give the good and bad about management, maintenance, crime concerns and your potential neighbors.
