I’m thinking of making a abzan deck choosing between Anikthea and Merkel. Some said Anikthea was better because enchantment texts are stronger than creature texts.
Advice needed between these 2 commanders. Thank you

If I was to choose myself between the two, I would go Anikthea. Myrkul is super popular but a very expensive mana value to get on the field, both great options though

@@kmg1434 I don’t think so but off the top some main pieces are bounce lands, siona, maja, gift of immortality and shielded by faith. If he can’t tutor the combos ravos makes Kodama a 7/7 so there’s the 3 hit kill route.

@@mrurameshi9433 oh interesting, I wasn't expecting the heavy aura build! I'm going for more etb interaction but it seems a bit too "good stuff tribal" right now with things like Reclamation sage, shriekmaw, panharmonicon, etc

Kathril may be underwhelming as a commander, but it's extremely scary in the 99 of a Nethroi deck. If you mill both Kathril and "Odric, Lunarch Marshal", Nethroi can bring them both back at once. Kathril gives all the counters to Odric, who will then share all keywords you have with everything else on your board. Now everything Nethroi brough back can have as much as: Haste, Flying, Vigilance, Trample, Deathtouch, Lifelink and even Hexproof all at once. That's a sudden onslaught that few opponents can survive.
Thanks to the Kathril + Odric combo, when Nethroi floods the board, his army can immediately swing in and eliminate an unprepared opponent and remind them why they need to run more graveyard hate
