As someone who's parents were dissapointed I wasn't a son, it hurts a lot. Dudes will forcibly abort girl children in some places of the world just so thay can have sons. That's awesome, my parents told me a lot of things were unladylike growing up. My dad only really wanted to do anything with me until he had a son like he wanted, after that the girls were occasionally brought along to do tasks like babysitting, cleaning and cooking. Turned out after 3 boys the ONLY one of his kids who ever willingly took him up on things like woodworking was me. I enjoy that kind of thing and they're valuable life skills. My husband can program computers, but I can fix or improve almost everything else.
You do realize this is probably what the parents are being told by other adults when they say they're pregnant again and hoping for a boy this time, right? He always treated all of us very well and would make sure we knew our worth. He always told us that whatever we set our minds to, we can achieve. We were always more than enough for him. That's awesome, my parents told me a lot of things were unladylike growing up. My dad only really wanted to do anything with me until he had a son like he wanted, after that the girls were occasionally brought along to do tasks like babysitting, cleaning and cooking. Turned out after 3 boys the ONLY one of his kids who ever willingly took him up on things like woodworking was me. I enjoy that kind of thing and they're valuable life skills. My husband can program computers, but I can fix or improve almost everything else.

He always treated all of us very well and would make sure we knew our worth. He always told us that whatever we set our minds to, we can achieve. We were always more than enough for him. I am the youngest of 2 girls and my Dad was the last of his name so I asked him once if he was disappointed that he had no sons and he said God no! My mom and stepdad had twin girls and were out somewhere and a man from a culture that values boys complemented the babies but said to my dad “aren’t you a little sad they aren’t boys?” (I know, the nerve) my dad said “no because in this country we value girls the same”. He loved us girls and treated me as his own too. My husband and I have a blended and expanded family of 6 children and his 4 bio children are all girls, I have 2 sons and he a daughter from previous marriages and we have 3 girls together. His friends joke with him about it but God gave him 4 girls for a reason-probably because he’s going to teach them the same as my sons and they’re going to be some bada** girls with skills.

@@cloudysana my dad has 2 daughters and he says our family would be complete if there was a boy , similarly my neighbour has 2 sons and he says their family would be complete if he had a daughter too. So it isn't that deep, me and my sister don't feel we aren't enough or something, we just feel it's his perspective he wanted a son too doesn't mean he Didn't want us or doesn't like us. Ig same is with this family too. Seems he loves all his girls equally.
