- Today, we are going to compare the battery powered WiFi cameras from Eufy. The Eufy Cam E, Eufy Cam 2C and the Eufy Cam 2. Aside from different prices, we will compare the video and audio quality (lots of camera footage) on these cameras and see which one is a better choice for your needs.

I also included a lot of night color recording on these cameras which is the setting that I use. I turn off Night Vision and I just make sure that I have other forms of lighting to light up the area. Here is a video I made comparing black and white night vision recording and color night recording.

Huge fan of your videos over here in the UK, I have been watching all of your videos on security cameras for at least 7 weeks now !!! As I am off work due to Covid-19, I decided to get some cameras. Having friends who work in security and when they said all it takes is a quick snip of the wifi cable outside the house and then a Ring system would totally shut off and get no record.....this made me finally choose the Eufycam 2. I just have the twin pack at the moment and will look at adding the floodlight for our front driveway.

I've had the eufycam E 3 camera system for about 2 years. I got it pretty cheap from an Amazon Black Friday sale. Recently I've added an indoor and doorbell cam that seamlessly integrates with the homebase, phone app, and Alexa (Amazon Echo). Great system. Nice and informative video.
It looks like that E has the best picture sound and night vision, forget about the price, need quality.
Just bought my Eufy Cam 2C. Your videos helped a lot with the decision.

@@MrGarcia114 its basically the same. Better to get the one with Facial Recognition. I installed mine indoors and records everything.

Great review of the Eufy line 👍 As you mentioned, for us HomeKit users, the only solution is the 2 or 2C. Really hoping Eufy adds HomeKit compatibility to their smart floodlight camera, or make a version that does.

Broda! Love your vids, keep up the good work! I ended up just buying the 2C (because $$$), as of today (06/13/20) the 2 camera system is $186.99 on Amazon. I couldn’t justify spending $299 for either the Cam2 or CamE.

Eufy cam 2- I bought in December 2019. Now I can say some negative of this camera. It doesnt capture all movements, I would say it misses 10% movements. It doesnt capture my car while I reverse in the morning, forward is ok. It does record car movement on the road though that area is outside of active zones. There is no snooze function for recording (only notification snooze) so it does record my own video while I am in my garden, draining the battery. I do disarm the camera but normally I forget to turn back on. In three months half of battery power has been used, so guessing it will go for 6 months. Local storage facility is super. Overall it is ok but could be better.

Am I the only one that can see the Eufycam E has the best video? The other two take far longer for the light balance to settle down when recording starts, and the amount of compression artifacts is terrible day or night. The Eufycam E just doesn't suffer in the same way at all? Also the E sounds much clearer at relaying your voice, which is very handy for speaking to the mailman from work, where as the other two seem to resonate badly. Really appreciate all the videos lifehackster, certainly helped me choose what I think is the better package. 👍

Eufy cam E dosent have artificial intelligence it wont pick up on motion from what I heard so that could be the reason the E cam quality is better to pick up for what its lacking on the e quality definitely have better cam and audio amongst other feather except that one thing

Thanks for this very detailed review. If I can suggest a couple of improvements to your videos, one would be to show a side by side videos so I can compare the videos from all 3 cameras in the same time, as a bit later they all look the same. Also I would appreciate your opinion as to which one is best - sometimes if they all look the same but you have access to the raw unedited video you can tell better which one is best. But otherwise love your scientific approach to all videos, well done! Keep them coming please!

From the UK, excellent in depth comparison, i found it very useful. I think the 2c certainly offered the best value of the trio.
Finally, I found the comparison chart. I wonder why Eufy doesn't make a comparison chart for themselves.

Same here, I'm looking for a camera for the in law's as I wouldn't go down the ring system again as it's too slow.

Ya know, been watching a lot of smart home you tubers lately as I prepare to educate my house...glad to find one that shows a house that is lived in versus so many who only show a small part where it looks like a show house...a minimalist house vs a house most of us live in act differently with a lot of these devices

Hi thank you for your reviews, they are brilliant, however I was about to purchase the 2c version however am I correct in saying that these cameras cannot be used for 24/7 recording. I am looking for similar with a date stamp with good clear sound on record. Many thanks any help would be much appreciated.

As most have said Mr Hackster, a very well put together video. I purchased the Eufy battery door bell on the strength of review you did. And now will buy the 2c as I want to replace a Swann wifi in/outdoor cam. The swann camera is good, but Swann have replaced the app you use with it and its CRAAAAAP. The camera is now a paper weight. And Swann customer service SUUUUCKS.

Hi! Great review, could you help me with a couple of questions? I dont know which model T8807CD3 is (its the only one i can find at my local tech store) and also would you know if i can customize the recording length of this model to more than 60 seconds per event? I dont need 24/7 recording but trying to get anywhere between 2 and 3 minutes at least for each motion activated trigger

Great review, I have the 2c cams and they work great. The only reason I would buy the cam 2 would be if I needed a little bit more of a viewing angle. When you compared the 3 cameras inside your living room I was able to see a lot more of the room. It is only 5° degrees more but it does make a difference. This would help if you are trying to cover cars in a driveway or more of a back yard. Other that that difference for the price the 2c's are the way to go.

It's called a "shotgun cam". Has a long barrel and a nice trigger to activate.
Useless response, Erik. My guess is the ring or the ezviz - c3x. He has a video on that one and it records 3 seconds prior to detecting motion.
Does the eufy 2c spotlight turn off automatically when recording or motion stops? Can you setup a personal schedule and select and use in Geofencing mode? Is it possible to use and connect a second base station 2 as a wifi extender? In your recommendation using the eufy 2c as a front door security camera would you select all motion or human settings? From your various reviews it seems that when human detection is selected it takes a lot longer to be notified 17 secs, compared to all motion settings selected about 3, 4 secs, what would you recommend? Thanks for the review. I already have my setup and chose 2 cam 2c and 2 cam2.
The large ones will go in the front side because they have anti theft capability and larger battery.
The 2c will go on the backyard.
I did get an offer bundle of 2c, but didn't get the cam 2 offer (they are on sale now), so it is true, it is worth to browse Amazon from time to time

@@melindabell4870 , the eufycam 2 and 2c will definitively pair to the same home base station (the most recent one). I cannot confirm the 2e, but I'm betting they do because I started the process at home, and my home base asked me to proceed. I don't have 2e to finish, but since it started, it should finish
@@Gilsanx I checked with Euphy Cam support and was advised that Cam 2e now pairs with either base station. MY QUESTION CONCERNING BASE STATIONS: Is there any functionality lost (other than method of data storage) using one base station over the other?

Thanks for the great review. I really like the Eufy Cam Cameras. The "Only" reason I do not buy them is that they do not have Replaceable Batteries. I do not like the idea of buying replacement cameras every few years.
5ergeantpepper I think this is a comercial hook, everybody know that batteries get worse little by little and with every charge the batteries have less capacity. I think is not a good idea to launch a product like this but it seems that it is very trendy. A solar panel would be great but there are no solar panel too
It should last more than a few years..I’m confident 5 years at least.
I have faith the rechargeable batteries in these things will last 5+ years. Eufy is part of Anker, not sure if they are using Anker batteries but I've been using Anker portable battery pack chargers for years and they have held up well over 5+ years. Anyway too, these are 1080p cameras so by the time these batteries wear out it will be time to upgrade to a higher resolution camera for sure.
@@LifeHackster Surely one would be able to replace the battery if for some reason it died early, or is the camera a hard sealed unit that cannot be opened??
Is it possible to have more one HomeBase2 on the same network? I was wanting to run 2 bases with cameras on each so that I effectively had double the storage space.
