I think the best way to look at Hammer on Luna is as a snowball tool. You pop it once you've gotten a kill and are running low on ink then either chuck it for a quick ink tank refill or hammer for continued pressure against a team in theory lacking the fire power to stop a hammer. Except the protection on hammer is a joke and it's hitboxes aren't real. So you just chuck it for more fizzy spam instead.
As a Luna main, I'd recommend...
* Use fizzy as a way to travel fast, or to attack from range. But avoid it in a fight because you run out of ink too quickly and you don't have enough ink to escape even if you get 1 kill.
* Play the corners. Sticking on/near Tower gives you a mobile wall with lots of corners. You can rush ahead if you have control of mid but you don't need to.
* Throw the hammer. Snipe the sniper. Otherwise don't bother using it.
* I miss having side routes in maps so much... If you can avoid frontal attacks, avoid them. Everything outranges you.
* Be careful if you hit a wall before your shot explodes. It'll do almost no damage and you're frozen until you can shoot again. Aiming for an indirect is sometimes safer than risking missing a direct and doing no damage, since at least indirect hits feet.
* If you're attacking a Luna, getting close enough to hug them can get inside their range. And paint behind them so they can't retreat.

Luna blasters _always_ want you to be closer. A great thing about the hammer, specifically for the luna is that you get a lot more mobility. If you can pop hammer, kill 1-2 players and _then_ yeet it, that's a lot more value. Also keep in mind that you can sub strafe with hammer :)

I used to be a Splat Roller main in 2, but I randomly picked up Grim Range one day and have never looked back. I love the class in general; glad to see it getting some love here too
I love the range blaster because it always feels fair to die with it, like its your own fault.
In your gameplay you died/didnt perform optimally because getting out of ink or missing a shot or hitting a wall instead of around it. every shot counts!
But if that aplies to the enemy you are figting is another question.
The range Blaster will always have a special place in my heart for carrying me to S+ in TC. Also got the highest body count 35 kills with it. I cannot recommend this weapon for people struggling in TC enough.
Now I solely play E-Liter and am happy to get 20kills.
Been using blaster since s1 my highest splat count was 43 in s3
I used a combination of Vblaster and range blaster and was able to get to S rank through TC
Mainly swapped between the 2 depending on the map and have gotten a decent amount of triples and even a few solo wipes
I more so play around cover than sharking with Vblaster and prefer to play my range aggressively with range. Though when I get to playing Luna, I might have to use sharking flanking and cover even more so than Vblaster

Can't wait for the 2-shot blasters. I feel like I'm the only one who uses vanilla rapid blaster. Never my first choice for competitive play, but always fun. The ink mines are lovely for combos in choke points.

Each of the 1 hit kill blasters definetly has a map mode that the main weapon excells on
the more ledges and more compact you get map wise the more you want Luna
the more spread out you get with less high variaton the more you tend towards Range
Maps ive found work for each
Luna - Flounder - Tower/Clams
Normal - Museum - Zones
Range - Hagglefish - Zone/Tower
i could be wrong but this is how it feels to play i do tend to main Range the most however so my knowlage of Luna is weak

i wouldnt be surprised to see burst bomb super chump, and you're probably getting splat bomb kraken CRB so like youre really gonna be eating pretty well. A lot of weapons would KILL for their 3 kits to have splat suction and burst bombs, so many are stuck with angle shooter and curling bomb

Man I think that's the most unfortunate game for the vanilla blaster he got double blaster the other team got a missile spammer one person on their team got Nintendo'd into oblivion so there was no paint like at all

I’ve used a combination of Vblaster and range blaster to get to S rank (TC only though), and it’s hard to say to say what’s better in TC, it’s likely map dependent TC wise.
Range feels better than blaster as a main weapon and sub weapon in TC, but big bubbler is stupid good in TC and auto bomb is still pretty good. Larger maps likely prefer range while closer maps prefer blaster. Both weapons still can nearly single handedly force opponents off tower and have to be dealt with some way to clear checkpoint
Also does range blaster have to play a more snarking style? I understand Luna and blaster since they don’t have the most range or out range other weapons, but range considering the longer range with AoE, I find that so long as you’re area is painted you can play maybe not like a front liner obviously but you can try and zone opponent’s away from pushing up, as you just 2 shot indirect them or direct them in one, it’s not a weapon that needs to get close to do stuff

How you deal with specials is entirely dependent on your weapon kit, your team comp, and the game state. There's no one best way to deal with specials. The best advice I can give is to get familiar with how all the specials work so that you can exploit their weaknesses.
Ultra Stamp has a wide turning radius, a lot of start and end lag to its rush mode, and is only partially protected from the front. In some situations, you can just shoot through the stamp/at their feet if they're coming straight at you.

I'm curious as to what color the devs will do for a 3rd Luna kit that wouldn't clash too hard with ink colors on the translucent plastic it has

tf you mean range doesn't have a good kit. wave breaker is fantastic on it since one wave + indirect = kill (sometimes) and it lets you control quite a large area while still being able to move around. and suction is also a solid area control sub
Frr tho i have x rank due to range blaster but it’s kit is boring give me custom range with kraken splat bomb and grim range with wail and burst smh

Startup is the time from you pressing a button and the action being fully performed. Endlag is the time from the action ending and the game letting you do another action.

Imo i don’t think range blaster indirect should be a two shot. Should be 3 slot cause i get way too many kills from it
3 shot indirect range would be absolutely terrible. Slow fire rate so you will not be getting any kills. Making it a 3 shot would likely make it one of the worst main weapons in the game
if you mean when YOU play, it just sounds like youre good at the weapon because plenty of people have no idea how to use it.
With the fire rate it has the indirect would NEVER kill if it was a three shot.
