  • Hey babes, I decided to install peel and stick crown molding in my rental apartment. I heard about this product a while back and have always wanted to try it. In this video, I show you step by step how I did it and give you my final thoughts on how it looks and if I'd buy it again.

    For anyone currently watching this…In other videos I’ve seen people have painted them after install and caulked the gaps to make it look seamless. But I still think the overlapping is too visible. I’d probably use the double sided little pieces of tape to tape the edges together underneath and then caulk the seams before painting instead of overlapping.

    • @SandySaintilus
      @SandySaintilus  Před 2 lety +2

      Good ideas! I didn't caulk cause I'm renting and wanted to be able to remove it easily, but caulking is great for those that plan on leaving it up for longer.

    I have a questionnnn, I’ve been planning on becoming an Interior Designer since I was in middle school (it’s my dream job). I’m in Grade 12 now, class of 2021 and I’m like a really shy person and becomes very nervous when it comes to presenting in front of the class.
    Do Interior Design course require students to present in front of the class or do they just record themselves doing it and pass it to the teacher?
    What do interior design students do the most inside the class?

    • @SandySaintilus
      @SandySaintilus  Před 3 lety +4

      Yup, class presentations are required but don't worry you'll get better the more you practice. And as for what students do in class, I have three videos on what you'll learn and do the first two years. That should provide some insight

    Oh girl I'm sorry, I watching this because I was hoping I'm not going to have to pay thousands to put trim on my ceiling and around my windows, and I have to say... it looks terrible. It's not your fault, you did an amazing job. It's just a shit product. They should just make it out of that horrible "wood" that is often used on top of cheap wood furniture, the kind that's like sawdust glued together. This is one time that stuff would be preferable lol. Just make it out of that, hollow inside, with different variants of strength for people who are renting vs people who just want to try to make their house look decent but don't have thousands to spend. For the homeowners, a good glue/caulk it should come with.
    I know they essentially make that, except they're solid and actually really heavy and difficult to DIY if you're not handy like I'm not.
    I just got out of an abusive 6-year relationship, I need to find a handyman.

      I saw a glimpse of it and I'm going to be honest that I don't like how it looks and there's no way that I'm going to invest my time and money for that. It's not the installation fault, but the product itself. I guess I'm going to either hired someone to do it or get the polyurethane type of molding which is light weight so I can try to do it my self. Maybe one room at a time. Hopefully I'll be done by the time I'm retired. Lol
