Find a reason to be content and grateful in every moment of our lives 1) awareness: you can’t appreciate something if you do not see it. We need to be aware. The first station is the station of awareness. When we gain awareness our heart awakens from the slumber of heedlessness. If you are grateful, I will surely increase you in favour. The more we look for the things e have, the more Allah allows us to increase in contentment. The pathways of negativity weaken and the pathways for positivity increase. Allhamdulliah I am not that car accident that caused delay. If you look for the imperfections of your appearance, you will find them but instead of you focus on what you appreciate in what Allah has given you of appearance and it’s functionality. 2) Accountability: are we living our life with the values that are important to us. Utilising the past and future to make the present moment count. If you work for something and you don’t get it- Allah is the best of planners and the provider. He provides us with what we need not what we want. Being content with that knowledge is important. Working towards our goal and in living the life we want to present in front of Allah(swt). When Allah I did not create you except to worship me. Are we living in accordance with that. If someone were to take an objective look at your life what are the priorities they would think you have in your life. Every single moment can be an act of worship if we intend and are grateful. 3) acceptance: contentment is not based on our circumstances. Research says 90 percent is the way we perceive our circumstances. Once I get married or lose weight I will be happy. We are in a waiting game. If we focused on what we had now we would be happy because Allah has given us everything we need right in this moment in order to be happy. In our morning and evening adhkar, there is a dua we say three times in the morning and three times in the evening radetu.., on the day of judgement Allah will please us on the day of judgement. When we remind ourselves everyday we are pleased with Allah, then the difficulties in our daily life are manageable. I am content with whatever trials he puts my way. Contentment isn’t about what’s happening around you but what is happening within you.
