Forgot the most important detail....DISABLE AUTOMATIC GAME UPDATES PLEASE..! Simply go to steam, right click Elden Ring & select updates. Make sure Automatic Updates is set to "Only Update the game when I launch it" and Background Downloads is set to "Never allow background downloads." Another tip is to right click the Elden Ring exe, select properties & set it to Read-Only.
Also if steam doesn't tell you the depot download locations, check C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\content

This did wonders. I deleted everything and reinstalled like 5x not noticing there was an update I was losing my mind because I was mid play through. I even still have my save file that I thought was gone forever lmao. Thanks for this!

No matter what manifest i try it always comes up with the error chuck writing or something like that but only for the game data depot
I get the following error in the console window when trying to download the first file.
Depot download failed : error unpacking chunk for file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1245620\depot_1245621\Game\Data2.bdt"
What about save file and the both game versions and save file versions not compatible
I have the whole folder backed up with a version that was working at the end of 2023. Does anybody know exactly which files the update changes, so I can switch them back to the working versions?
i need help. i keep getting this error whenever i try to download game data:src\clientdll\depotdownloadmgr.cpp (2951) : Assertion Failed: CDepotDownloadMgr::BYldRequestDepotChunks: same chunk requested twice for depot 1245621. how do i fix this?
so, I followed all the steps in this video and for some reason it won't download all the depot files needed for the main game. I put everything in correctly and it still won't work
will this process work for downpatching to 1.09 as well or is there anything i need to change

Its saying "the game version and save data version are different..." its always returning me the title menu

Try downloading the anti cheat disabler from Nexus, that may be required.
It's working perfectly, but it seems I can't get any runes. Is that normal or a bug on my side?
I made a new character and i'm getting runes. So I guess I'll have to start over, unfortunately.

Check The Convergence discord. I've heard others having similar issues with saves. Not sure if they managed to fix it tho
While you have your game open, go to your window search bar and type in %appdata% then go to Elden ring and then delete the folder with the numbers. Before you do this know that it will result in you losing all of your saves, to prevent this back up your save
