Completing The Custom Hot Rod Interior - 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan

- A few episodes back, Matt worked on creating templates of the floor so he could have carpets custom made for the 34 Tudor. Barry had everything but the seats custom made back in the 60s when he originally built the car. The stock rubber mat and rear carpet really stood out among the tuck and roll interior. Joe form J E Somic Somics Auto Upholstery did the full interior on the Free-T and did and amazing job on the carpets for this project! Matt chose low pile black carpet with contrasting white edging. The combination really blend well with the interior that was done 60 years ago! We really love the way this car is coming together and can't wait to get it back on the road!!! What do you think of the carpet? Does it match the existing interior, or stand out like a sore thumb!!

As the first piece of Velcro is installed; "There's not going to be any kids in the car..." Parting scene - smiling kid in the car...Love the look of the carpet!
Good luck with no kids in the the interior looks great what the black and white contrasting shades
🤣 about spit out my coffee when Randy Savage popped up “oh yea!” ! Definitely pat yrself on the back for me on that one! 🤣
I lost it myself when he popped up!!! 😂😂😂
I look forward to Barrys reaction when you re-introduce him to the car. I'm sure it will evoke many fond memories. The carpet looks great!
Way to go Matt like the Velcro idea. The carpet turned out amazing with the white edging makes it pop.
those are actually 3M dual lock squares not velcro. same ones that come with an EZ pass
@@FatManWalking18 The duel lock by 3M is great! Kicks the crap out of Velcro. I have also used 3M spray glue.
Very smart. You could get a black blazer with white piping to wear whilst driving her, ha, ha.
Haha the black and white Iron trap t shirt
Yes. This! 🤣
And a top hat?
Love that Mike and you are letting the kid play with tools and the car - made a daily Model A playtrip with my 18,5 month old daughter every day during the summer holliday, hoping she'll keep the interest, when growing up.
Mike, that kid is going to be tall. Great job on introducing him to the shop at a young age. The neat thing about that unique interior is your boy will remember putting those seats in it and sitting in it with Matt. Making memories.
All that kid needs is a ice cream cone in one hand and a sucker in the other. Then let him sit in the back seat
No food in the car!!! He is gonna be a bruiser thats for sure
Very nice...and with the windows rolled up in the summer sun, the carpet will take the shape desired.
Carpet really looks good glad to see the little guy in the garage
Looks awesome! I"m sure Larry would have been pleased!
The carpet looks awesome. That is a beautiful car.
Thank you!
Looks great Matt...very period correct and tasty, not at all tacky. A traditional hot rod has been a lifelong dream I don’t think I will ever realize. I’m glad you have.
Tuxedos were the rage in the early 60's and if that 34 does not look like it is decked out in a tux, I'm blind.
So yes, the look is spot on.
Thanks Ed!
Looks great and yes, iy really ties the interior together, very cool. Cheers
The carpet is spot on! Especially the white border - really ties the look together. And that new camera guy is top notch!
You did the carpet beautifully! Could not be better. I think mike’s junior mechanic is just the right size to finish tucking up the dash wiring and putting in the kick panels. I can’t explain how exciting it will be to see this beauty hit the road! Great car and a great job Matt, trying to think like Barry and Larry.
Like the look of the carpet goes with the style of the headliner
64 perfect! Time machine, y'all have done a great saving this from the streetrod crowd.
In 1964 I graduated from a technical high school with automotive as my major. I had many 40's and 50's cars already. I would have LOVED to own this car as is. I doubt if you remember but when you took the spare off I said it looked surprising good and modernized it. I think you took issue with my statement, LOL and said it still was old school. Well to ME it was a little more modern (just remembering the times) but I have to say EVERYTHING you have done to this car is tasteful and spot on! You truly are a real car guy through and through. I love your channel and was glad to see you visit Oregon and see some of our sights and meet some of our car guys. -- Rick from Salem, Or.
I think the carpet looks spot on good choice.
Love the new carpet the white edging it's a great old school touch .
The carpet looks RIGHT! Great job.
The new carpet looks fantastic ! The white trim going around the separate pieces really makes it pop ! Nice job Mat !
Thank you we're excited!
I love the 34 Ford nicely done Matt.
The carpet is 1964 perfect. The 34 is turning out to be a beautiful car.
NICE! Three two's and some engine detail and you're ready for the "Auto-rama". Maybe some clear red plug wires (A light show at night) and clear red fuel lines (An engine fire waiting to happen) and you will be the coolest car at the A&W. LOL. All joking aside the carpet really makes the interior pop.
spot on 60's look
Matt, carpet looks great......love the white binding! Matches really nice.....
Looks good! Its coming together nice.
Honestly Matt, when the carpet was laid out on the floor I had my doubts to say the least. Once it was installed with the seats in all I can say is BRAVO! That looks incredible!
Thanks David!
Carpet's right on the money Matt.
Carpet fits, in all senses of the word. This is a great project. Can't wait to see it on the road.
You and me both!

Nice period touch with the carpet.
Looks really nice good choice
Very nice. New carpet looks great! Let us know if you are ever in the Denton County area in Texas so we can have a look👍
Interior looks fantastic. Nice job. 1964
A perfect hot rod interior.
the carpet looks awesome! you got the era look just right matt and kudos to the stitcher for great work. a couple of points off for the non-period velcro. friggin hate that stuff but that's between me and my therapist.
Hey Matt,
That carpet really finished out the clean look of this car interior !
The fella who did the carpet for you is VERY GOOD at what he does !
You should be proud to be seen in this car but people may think your Dad built the car because it is so period correct.
Be safe and well
I get that a lot actually! “Was this your grandfathers car?”
Tip for next time, pick your spot, put the two pieces of Velcro together (as they’ll be in the car) peel the backing off one side and stick it where you want it, pull the backing off the other piece and put the carpet in place. The Velcro will be lined up perfectly and you can press for 30sec on both glue joints at the same time. I got my shirt and stickers, look great man! 👍
Carpet looks great! A little bit tacky and a whole lot perfect.
Carpet looks great Matt , really enjoy all of your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Eye catching, beautiful contrast to me! Absolutely love it Mat. 1964 or 2020 classy cool. 😎
Every time you show this car the better it looks, great job looks perfect. Thanks for sharing! Kevin
I was very surprised how well the finished product looks. I have never really liked contrasting piping, but damn it looks good in that car. I may have to re-evaluate my thoughts on piping now. Great car love the channel!!!
Looks fantastic Matt!
It looks super nice. Good pick.
Came out great 👍 good job as usual!!!
Matt, the interior looks great! good job.
It's super clean and timeless👍
Nice job Matt!!!! The car is definitely screamin' the 60's. I agree with onehotpinto who posted clear red spark plugs wires and clear red fuel line.Just another one of those touches that make people take a second look!!!😎👀👀👀👍👍👍
The spark plugs are a great idea! We need to pull the carb and rebuild and may do the plug wires while we’re at it!
Nice to see the carpet going in.it ties the rest of the interior together very nicely.
Thanks for sharing Matt , I really enjoy your adventures ! Regards BobLee

Holy smoke, a video with no welding, grinding or fabricating Matt and Mike!🤔😳😱🙈😂. Carpet gives the 34 a whole new look and it looks great. Now go on line to Master Tech for I'm sure they have mats to cover and protect the carpet.🤔😳😱🙈😂. It's really coming together and I'm glad I'm along for the journey. You and yours stay healthy and safe and cheers from this old retired coot living in Tennessee. Oh, I was only kidding about Master Tech, they only have from 1940 and beyond.🤔😂❤️👍🍻✌️😷
