Hi Pam, I worked in a sewing factory after high school, and one of the tricks we used to sew a straight line, was to simply lay a straight line on the machine bed with a stripe of painters tape. It makes a very simple line to follow. Just keep the edge on the tape, and step on the gas! Hope this helps someone!

Thank you for just being Pam. 🤗 Truly enjoy watching. Your chatter and projects are so much fun and always brighten my day. I found a few hanging file folders when clearing out an old file drawer at work. Yay! 😆 Your ‘recordus interruptus’ oopsie is forgiven. You can always show more tips and the finished jj at a later date. We got the idea. 👍

@@ThePaperOutpost it's all true!! I've been unwell for the last six years, I have crohns, fibromyalgia, acute pancreatitis and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I used to be really productive and loved my crafts, but I lost my mojo a couple of years ago and I'm trying to get it back. I've reduced my painkillers, which were really strong and turned me into a bit of a zombie and I'm a lot better. Watching your tutorials, as well as a couple of other crafters pink odd bird is one of my favourites, have made me take an interest again. I still crochet, but I used to be able to make a blanket in a couple of weeks and now it takes me ages.
I've got a lot of tutorials to catch up on!! I love that you show we don't need to go out and buy expensive materials and can make a journal out of just about anything. Mind you I think I have enough supplies to last me for years, I need to reduce my stash !!! Xx

I got my sewing machine off Facebook market place for $30 , it is a brother xl , not digital but has several different stitch settings , perfect for what I need. However when I went to Joann’s to buy replacement needles you should have seen the lady’s face helping me. She wanted to know what size I needed based on the fabric I was using and when I told her the average size because it didn’t really matter I sew paper and usually most of my fabric is scraps she went into a 10 minute speech about taking care of my machine. I thanked her and told her I got a can of air to clean out the dust and if I break my machine it’s okay since buying used sewing machines are pretty easy to find. She almost seemed hesitant giving me my replacement needles 😂 however the machine did come in handy when the whole family decide to try making masks. Lol.

Hi Karen, oh geesh! I hit stop instead of pause...user error on my part. Its always risky when I turn the camera around onto the sewing machine ;) My apologies. :)

Very pretty and super easy to make. I'm always curious why ppl use glue instead of using the iron on type. So super easy and adhears fabric to paper very nice. Hope you show decorating this. TFS * L

Thank You so much for this...got bunches of those hanging file folders too...not much of the heavy fabric but ‘friends’ do...lol. Tip from another CZcamsr... knitting needles toppers or end protector (?) . 2 pk large fits the frosting bottle, sm fits the glitter glue bottle. Begging friends to pick up some for me. Have a great day!

I love sewing but I think I will try modpodge also.. Then I will sew it. My brother has over a hundred stitches so I've been using all kinds of curly qs, hearts etc contrasting threads so pretty.. Yeah I can't follow a straight line either.

I can confirm that Scotch Create Glue works better generally. I tried 6 UHU glues and they take longer to dry and also don't adhere that well either to paper and fabric. I heard the Tomo Mono Liquid Glue is good so I am trying that as well. But definitely glad you mentioned that UHU is not great.
