Joey Chestnut Eating Challenge: 2 Ft Sized Mega Pizza Slice Challenge

- I was in New Orleans in February and decided to stop by Fat Boys Pizza, in Metairie, to take on their 2ft pizza slice challenge. Three other eaters also did the challenge.
Last year, Fat Boy's held a Major League Eating sanctioned eating contest, and I fell in love with their pizza!I really wanted to eat slow and enjoy every pizza on the menu, but Geoff was there, gunning for my record!
Geoff Esper ate like a beast!!! I had a slow start (being out until 4am didn't help me)
I'll definitely be back to improve on this time and enjoy some tasty pizza (at a more reasonable speed)

Watching it back frame by frame, Joey squeaked out the victory by a few fractions of a second. Also, Geoff sprayed a little bit of pizza on the ground when he took his hands away. Regardless, that was very very impressive to the both of you. Wow!

Looking into it too much I think. It IS a competition. Being beaten is disappointing (I don't expect Joey to understand this XD). I couldn't imagine Geoff to have any ill-will towards Joey. It was an awesome matchup to say the very least. Hopefully you guys get to do another sometime :)

Esper won. You can see while joey was still shoving food in his mouth, exper was just wiping his lips with his hands. Now if the rules say you're done when hands are not touching your face, then joey won, but I think rules were the food has to be in your mouth to stop the clock.

Nope slow it again and open your eyes wide open. First of all esper plate is cleaner, he picked up the remaining small bits while Joey just left them on the plate and second Joey raised his hands up while a little piece is still handing out of his mouth while esper shoved everything in his mouth before raising his hands.
It looked like Joey did win by a very small hair... his hands were away from his mouth and all food was in his mouth while Geoff still had not taken his hands away from jamming that monster truck size piece of pizza down his gullet... absolutely great contest and competition !!! Excellent job by all!!! This is probably the most exciting pizza eating challenge that exists today👍👍
