  • In this video I will show you a quick installation video of the Mountain Pass Performance Coilovers on the Tesla Model Y. I'll give you my review/thoughts on them, and I'll also show you some comparison videos between stock and MPP from two different angles, including a decibel meter recording.
SPOILER: Suspension rides considerably better with the MPP Suspension when compared to the stock (Sep 2021) suspension. Decibel levels decreased by 1db on Average.
It's worth noting that I had the coilovers set to 12/12 and 10/8 - there is room to go softer and set them to 14/14 all around, which should improve the comfort even further. Highly recommended if you are looking to improve the ride quality and handling characteristics of your Tesla Model Y!

    Amazing work on video

Great attempt at trying to capture the difference between stock and coilovers. Super difficult and appreciate not a typical purchase-validation-esque sell job. Maybe some basic instrumented test with a phone app on average and max acceleration and noise going on a straight but bumpy road at a constant speed via autopilot/cruise control could serve as some raw numbers!

You're like my alter ego man lol. I have a model 3 P with every MPP part and just got the wife a y and currently installing comforts and a lift kit for overland type setup. AKA the anti curb machine. Thanks for posting the videos and how tos!

Haha amazing! I'm actually only a few weeks out from adding the lift kit and big trail tires to the Y! Great minds think alike!

@@Model3Challenge Nice! What wheels/tires you going with? I had some 18" konig dekagrams for track wheelsfor model 3 but they are close to the load limit for the Y so not sure if I'll use them. They are 1500# a wheel but I think with the bigger profile I may be okay?

@@Shiftheads they would likely be fine! I'm going to run 19" MW03's with the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail in 245/55/19

Hi, What numbers do you run on. I started at 12/10 strangely I like 7/7 all round is firmer but the ride is way more planted and less nervous. Good video very factual.

I'm currently running 12/12f, 10/8r. I haven't really messed with them since my wife drives the car 95% of the time!

Difference is really astonishing. Great job! Is this a 2021 or 2022? I just helped my daughter pick up a 2022 Model Y wondering if the difference would be this dramatic?

This was a 2021. Though, having driven one, I don't really feel the 2022 rides any better!

How are the MPP in comparison to Unplugged Performance coilovers?

I would recommend seeking reviews on Tesla forums and asking the community there.
