The Charlie Daniel's Band has a song called The Devil Went Down to Georgia that is based on this too...Great song!!
There is a movie that came out in the mid 80s called Crossroads that is based exactly on this guy and I highly recommend watching this movie!!! It is soo good!! It has Ralph Macchio, Jami Gertz, Steve Vai (a well-known guitarist, one of the best in the world), Joe Seneca, Robert Judd as the Devil
😂 I just posted almost the same thing. This was my favorite movie as a kid growing up 😎🤙🏽
Steve Vai is amazing !!
@@kevinestrada900 Just about everyone I know has never heard of it and I'm like Whaaa??? That's crazy to me cuz I've watched it so many times being Ralph Macchio is a heartthrob and Steve Vai is in it....These people living in their mom's basement I guess. LOL
That movie was fantastic, Ralph was legit an awesome guitar player.
Lol yup
Robert Johnson was a legendary blues musician born in Mississippi around 1911. His music, particularly his recordings from 1936-1937, had a profound influence on blues and rock music. Despite a short life, he left an indelible mark with songs like "Cross Road Blues" and "Sweet Home Chicago." His mysterious life and the myth of selling his soul to the devil at the crossroads added to his legend. Johnson's impact on music continues to be felt today.
You can only serve one master.
Better make sure it’s an American Bourbon then 😅 make it a good serve, ya know….
I just had an epiphany! When you said we have rock n roll because of him! That is where the turn of phrase “rock n roll is the devils music” came from?!
And Phil Lynott. Lead singer and bass player (great bass player) of the legendary Irish band Thin Lizzy…”The Boys are back in town”…”Whiskey in the Jar” (which Metallica later covered)…. “Jailbreak”…”Dancing in the Moonlight”… “Cowboy Song”…”Emerald”…”Black Rose” and many many other hits. Phil was a black Irishman who stood out and was a legendary hit with the ladies and an incredibly talented musician all around, especially the unique voice he had. As well as his great walking blues inspired bass lines. He had 1 double platinum record and 3 gold records by the time he died…he died of organ failure from sepsis…which he got from injecting heroin with unclean needles. Had he sought help when he first experienced symptoms he would have survived no problem…but his addiction was so bad he thought if he went to hospital for treatment they would make him go to long term rehab and he def didn’t want to go. So he waited and hoped the symptoms would go away like the flu, like his body would eventually just heal itself 🙄. Super sad thing is that it was His mother (who he was super close with, he renovated the guest/servants cottage on the 20 acres his mansion was on for her to live in). She found him in that mansion outside Dublin in the countryside…in his huge bathtub full to the brim with super hot water and he was in there fully clothed still shivering (sepsis symptoms) half conscious asking for help…she called an ambulance and passed away a few days later in the hospital. He battled drug addiction for years before he died in the mid-late 1980’s. There is a solid bronze 6.5 foot tall statue of Phil Lynott in Dublin’s shopping district center. Legendary. Look up the Phil Lynott story it’s INCREDIBLE there’s a great documentary on CZcams about it. They did a great job I def recommend it. Phil was great and was so nice to others, gave money to anyone in need he was so generous…loved everyone but himself which is tragic
Phil Lynotte died at age 36.
@@PCMRvsconsole fuck your right I just looked it up. Someone told me he was a member of the 27 club and I took his word for it. Can’t believe no one these days
@@PCMRvsconsole at least all my other facts were right tho 😂
Almost everyone in the western world have heard the monster hits like “The Boys are Back in Town” or “Jailbreak” or “Whiskey in the Jar” but some surprisingly haven’t heard the songs “Cowboy Song” (which is my favorite lizzy song EVER…and “Dancing in the Moonlight” (not King Harvests song it’s a completely different song just similar name) which is probly my 2nd fav lizzy song. The last 20 seconds or so of “Dancing in the Moonlight” was one of the coolest bass riffs ever if you listen close. Or turn up the bass if you’re able. And Cowboy Song just rocks your face off. The Boys are Back in Town went two times platinum, but the best albums in my opinion are the 3 gold records they put out. It’s SUCH a shame Phil died so young…gone wayyy too soon. He was MONSTER talented but severe depression led to increased drug abuse which led to severe addiction which led to an early grave. All of Dancing in the Moonlight is BADASS to play on the bass actually
This makes my heart hurt. I've met several addicts who have that kindness in them. They care about everyone, but are killing themselves at the same time... They stand out from their "peers" that steal and manipulate and don't give a care about anyone but themselves. It's awful when I realize people think they are just like the majority of addicts who only care about themselves.
O brother where art thou. Great telling of the story!
Not being facetious, but I dont remember that part or taking that away from that movie? It has been a while since I’ve seen it though. I was just a kid when I watched it. So I may have missed a lot of things in it that I would understand as an adult.
Tenacious D springs to mind here
The crossroads movie with karate kid and steve vai
The guy in southern California who never souled he's soul but literally Devil gave him the KEY'S to the world and he wanted nothing to do with all of it!!..
The pick of destiny!
There’s a really good movie called “CrossRoads” with Ralph Macchio plays a young guitarist obsessed with Robert Johnson sets out to look for him because there was rumors he never died. Found an old black blues player at an old people home and told him that was him. He wanted to go back to the crossroads and get his soul back from the devil. Ralph Macchio (guitar) battles Steve Vai (devils guitarist) for Robert Johnson’s soul. I highly recommend it. My favorite movie as a kid growing up 😎🤙🏽
He definitely paved the way for many genres of music. He had a 7 - string acoustic for crying out loud. That's some heavy sounding vibe lol, it's just crazy and very intriguing that there's a story like this out there.
Lol, Lily's such a doll.
The 27 club can be explained using astrology, something about saturns transit i believe. I know you guys don't believe in astrology, and I used to think it was a load of crap too. I started looking deeper into it recently and found out how insanely accurate your birth chart is! It's been blowing my mind.
Plus if you dive deeper in the rabbit hole, the 12 disciples from the bible appear to represent the personality traits of the 12 zodiac signs. I hope this comment isn't upsetting to anyone, but you guys seem to be open minded so i wouldn't completely discredit the symbolism behind it.
Like if its a scientific fact that the moon has an influence on the tides and the female menstrual cycles, the sun is responsible for creating life and providing living things with necessary nutrients for survival, why is it hard to believe that the other planetary bodies may have an influence on us too?
Idk, just some food for thought, but i love you guys and this incredible podcast!! You guys are #1 !!! Keep being awesome 😁💛
Also, the crossroads by ralph maccio the karate kid and has steve vai in it
I was told before that what you do at a crossroads is the most important in your life. It always stuck with me.
Makes u realize why music has such a strong effect on us.i can hear a song & i can remember what i was doing orr who i was with when it came out.some good some bad.and ive heard alot of record industry ppl do spells and things over the production of songs and tracks.
Thanks for doing this video.
Can yall do more on this? I came from a church that kept themselves very seperated from the world to the point of fear. They use to always say that about the devil being a choir director and thats why we cant listen to secular music but i cant find it in The Bible. Its been a question on my mind lately so its really cool that yall did this. I feel like there is a lot of secluar music that has helped me so i don't really see where they are coming from esp since they were so fearful and angry about the world.
when i was in my late 20's i studied a lot on the 27 year old deaths. I think there is something that happens at that age that makes you take a look at your life. It was a hard age for me but I made it through and started living for Jesus.
I was randomly singing "me and the devil" in the kitchen this morning. Must have been in the air!
I love you guys
G Craig Lewis breaks this down in The Truth Behind Hip Hop part 9 I just watched it the other day it’s DEEP! PLEASE watch the Truth Behind Hip Hop it’s right up y’all’s alley 😂
Not just musicians. Artist Basquiat at 27...Jay Z emulates his look.
Johnsons music was so good.
Lily is awesome!👏
Jean-Michel Basqiat.....27
It’s weird because he could definitely develop guitar skills over no time through flow state ,or maybe it’s the devil but I tried to play since I was 16 off and on and couldn’t and one day it came to me and to be honest it’s nothing I understand nor do I think about ,I just let my hands do it
@@thankfullyredeemedmaderigh7436 my advice don’t think about it play with a beat a rythm, learn basic chords and let it flow
We demand more gasps and ohs from lily! We love you lily!!!
Adorable. RS
No, we don't want gasps. I know I speak on behalf of many viewers out there.
@@WatchingMyLifeFlashB thanks.
Anyone hating is just angry at their own self 😊 sad to see men trying to bring down a happy girl bubbling with personality just because she makes you feel inadequate. Oh well 😊
I'm very impartial actually
Music and Film
Practice makes perfect!!!! Pain helps.
I'm from Mississippi and I know where he sold his soul at so many accidents happen we're he sold his soul it's like a four way highway now it's a bad feeling out there fr
Robert Johnson is the first person to perform by his record being played at Carnegie Hall in front of a sold-out audience.
That theory is correct
Crossroads a movie with Ralph Macchio
Wendigoon has a good video on Robert Johnson
He wasn’t poisoned. He drank bad moonshine and died two days later in Central Arkansas. 😅
It's on highway 61 in Clarksdale Mississippi the crossroad it's still there it's feel strange there
Oh really? I kinda want to go visit it.
Brad Knowell...RIP
At 27, the stars or I believe Saturn or something very important astrologically reaches the same spot it was when you were born and this triggers, like the beginning of your life, a new cycle, a rebirth into a deeper level of spiritual maturity... when I was 27 I was hit by a girl who only had 1 beer but fell asleep at the wheel and that altered my life so much. Went through so much after that, happened 10 days after my birthday. I'm a whole new person now.
I'm in the music industry too. Just haven't made it yet. Anybody check on the 54 club?? 🤔
Listen to the song "The devil went down to Georgia" by Hank Williams jr, because its the subject.
Correction. Sister Rosetta Tharpe was the officially recognized pioneer of rock n roll with the song "strange things happening everyday" which was the first song to cross the Charts from religious gospel to the colored charts and then the white popular charts.
Rocket 88 by Ike Turner has widely been recognized as the first rock and roll song. I've never even heard of this lady, but now I'm gonna have to Google her
Its not just music, actors is same,Chris Farley is one
0:41 that’s a fact
Add Keith Richards to the list of musicians that have sold their soul. Google his 60 Minutes interview.
I reckon some music exec took him on-board, even though he sucked at guitar and got a session guitarist to play the bits for him? And just say it was all him. People back then generally didnt know there were other people putting ideas on tracks, they thought it was just the dude on the cover. Millie vanilli did the same thing
Have you watched the documentary, I thought they just lup synced to make money, but allegedly the one guy thought it was his voice being and claims he was tricked. But I mean he died like 26 years ago, I'm sure the story would've changed by now.
When he came back, he had an extra guitar string on his guitar.
Also he was poisoned by a jealous man, who's woman flirted with him..
Anyone run the Gematria for 27 or The 27 club yet? Or, what the numerology of 2 and 7 is? 🤔
27 = 9 x 3 --> 93
Saturn = 93
Black Cube = 93
Alister Crowley’s Themola 93
0:10 did that bleep out her saying the F word?
Kat Von D’
God be with her more and more
He was the leader of the Heavenly Choir and sing harmony with himself. That's why we have to be SO careful about music.
If I’m not mistaken, all of that is in the area near area 51 when I say near you have to consider you’re in the desert
No oh bro where are thou stayed true it was Tommy Johnson a blues man he was known for sell his soul to the devil. Robert got blamed for it because of the name of his songs. He was horrible at guitar then left and found an awesome guitar player that taught him how to play the way he wanted lived with him and his family and came back and blew everyone away. Yes he is the godfather of rock and roll. His playing sounded like two guitars but it was just him. Soulful singing and slide guitar. So many bands musician credit him to this day Eric claypton jack white Keith Richard’s and so many more. He was beyond his time. He is THE GOAT
Omg. I just watched the movie crossroads (Based on Robert Johnson) and the music devil stealing souls looks just like P Diddy!!! No lie. @1:22 point. His name is Scratch! And this movie was made over 30 years ago!!! His real name is Robert Judd
Are they promoting the drink Liquid Death???
4:05 3 years before 30
For anybody that had never heard this story and is interested. There's some pretty good versions out there LOL homeboy really kind of stepped on it quite a bit, but I give him a pass it's not like they're Making a Robert Johnson documentary.

You guys are drinking liquid death where they put evil spirits in it lol. I mean it littlerally says liquid death on the can. Just thought you'd like to know.
These comments hit
I don't believe in coincidences
Its actually true when he was cast down and took 1 3rd of the angels with him all their instruments fell with them that's why music has so much pull on the youth and just anyone that listens
Yet it didn't happen, so "true" is a stretch
Didn’t happen YET*** ❤
Dont forget about Avicii he died at age of 28
Or maybe better viewed as on a global scale
The Bible explains the devil was the highest cherubim and he was over all the angels in heaven and he was the leader of qll worship in Heaven and the Bible also explqined how beautiful God made him. But yes he was head over all worship.
Yeah, I think the crossroads were met up with the devil was not too far away from the largest silver mine in the world just off of Route 66 next to the city of sin
Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-15 tell about lucifer (pre-satan)!
Ummm... Lucifer isn't REALLY in the Bible. Pull out a Strong's Concordance and a KJV Bible. Isaiah 14:12 is the ONLY mention of Lucifer, and it was referring to a Babylonian ruler. NOT the devil. The KJV of Isaiah 14:12 (if it is annotated) will actually tell you in the notes that this was a mistranslation. The myth that Lucifer was a fallen angel is not Biblical. The history surrounding why Christians have mythologized this is a mixture between Milton's poem Paradise Lost - published in 1667, and Jerome's Latin Vulgate-where the translation was made.
Ezekiel 28:12-19 Does not mention Lucifer nor the devil and is directed at the king of Tyre. Calling someone Lucifer at the time of the vulgate was akin to calling someone the Morning Star; Which is true of the roman personification of the 'Light Bringer'.
There is NOTHING Biblical, factual, nor historical about Lucifer and the Devil being the same entity. It is pure myth.
Isn’t there a 33 club too??
😂
what? is there? I was just thinking about Jeff Buckley that drowned at 33. He was clean and sober all his life.
How do you not know that Liquid Death has witches that attach demons to those cans?
That's a new one ...
Lol...
I don't drink anything out of aluminum... it has been shown to have links to altzeimers and dementia
Why would you drink liquid death? Please do some research on it, even just watch a compilation of their commercials
Y’all should look into the theory Liquid Death stuff you’re drinking. I’ve seen some stuff about it being satanic/demonic or something. Using Tony Hawks blood in some weird ritual and making skateboard graphics with it and stuff.. super weird.
What do you give up to be a top CZcamsr? Like, if you cave to intimidation, and dance like a monkey… Maybe what their offering doesn’t seem that bad, all you have to do is play along? The alternative is whatever idol they exploit to wind your little monkey gear up is ripped from you… Like, what do you think is the consequence of that?

The "27 Club" refers to a group of influential musicians and actors who all died at the age of 27. Some of the notable members include:
1. Jimi Hendrix - Guitarist, singer, and songwriter.
2. Jim Morrison - Lead singer of The Doors.
3. Janis Joplin - Singer-songwriter.
4. Kurt Cobain - Lead singer and guitarist of Nirvana.
5. Brian Jones - Founding member of The Rolling Stones.
6. Amy Winehouse - Singer-songwriter.
7. Robert Johnson - Influential blues musician.
8. Jean-Michel Basquiat - Artist and painter.
These are some of the most well-known members of the 27 Club, but there are others who have also tragically passed away at that age.
Hey I would love to be a guest on your show
Just a tip for your podcast. Focus more on topics than so much random chit chat. Is you listen to the more popular podcasts it’s not so saturated with random talks about nada. I know it’s probably harder with so many people and I really like you guys and gals and see a lot of potential

🤔…..Highways 8 & 1 near Rosedale, or 61 & 49?….take your pick. “The Crossroads.” Great mythic story (or fact?).
Robert Johnson + Aleister Crowley =
Rock ‘n Roll.
😳 Do not doubt my word on this.
Mr. Crowley (who Ozzy wrote a song about) was called the wickedest man in the world by the English press in the early 1900’s - he died exactly 20 years prior to The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper album. Did Crowley somehow influence modern music?
“It was 20 years ago today, Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play”….?
(Crowley’s picture is in the crowd on the Sgt Pepper album cover).
Niccolò Paganini seems to have had his crossroads experience a few years prior to Robert Johnson. 🤔 But it is Johnson credited with the Blues’ influence on Rock ‘n Roll.
“Do what Thou Wilt is the whole of the law”. Indeed.
So most led zeppelin songs are actually robert johnson songs!!! Look it up
