Megan Rapinoe slammed by USA fans for LAUGHING after missing penalty kick | FIFA Women’s World Cup

- Angry USA soccer fans rounded on Megan Rapinoe for laughing after she missed a crucial penalty in the World Cup penalty shoot-out against Sweden, which USWNT eventually lost to be knocked out of the tournament. It meant that Rapinoe, 38, has played her last World Cup game for the USA. She was crying on the field with her devastated teammates in Melbourne after Sweden won but it was her immediate reaction to her own penalty miss that left many fans with little sympathy.
She took USA's fourth penalty in the shootout to give her team a 4-2 lead in the shootout and blazed her shot high over the crossbar. But as she jogged back to the halfway line, she was - much to the confusion of fans watching back home - smirking and laughing to herself.

By Birth I am Irish, by Nationality I am American but I have always a special place in my heart for Sweden. Could not be more happier if they go all the way. Never liked the American captain.
It is truly incredible how as humans we show our true colors in key moments even when it’s the last thing we want to do-we “ dime”ourselves out for the world to see- we simply cannot help it- I’m 60, been watching soccer since I was 7 & I have NEVER witnessed a reaction like this to failure, NEVER..there is a natural reaction to missing, we ALL fail, this is not my criticism of her- it’s the reaction that is so absurd & absolutely shocking- or maybe since it’s her I shouldn’t be surprised at all-if this wasn’t at the cost of such a tremendous effort of her team I’d have loved it….this insane reaction continued even AFTER the contest was decided!… what I’m about to say is not in anger- she needs psychological help- the “tap dance” saturated interviews she gave post match were to dodge the reality- this is a person that has forced themselves to the fore over a career to use her platform to demand response to issues- in that the casual viewer would be sold in believing the level of exposure must match their skill level & greatness within the game itself-in this case NOTHING could be further from the truth- she has been an average contributor over a career & in many areas, sub par- but this is not really where I’m trying to go today- I’ve witnessed this person swear and cuss over and over during live post match and tournament celebrations where young kids were tuned in by the masses- I’ve witnessed her with public displays of affection’s over n over that were delivered solely based on their attempt at the old humdrum &worn out “ shock value”… it walks hand in hand with them promoting their sexuality when while they have revealed this about themselves ad nauseam is supposed to be a private fact- her hairdos scream “ look at me I demand it” which is if everything else didn’t exist , this would be enough to understand the individuals goals…this morning it culminated in her sad & revealing reaction to her failing- she simply was unable to react naturally in the moments- a facade that says “ I can’t be the one to fail, I’m much too special & big for that”… it is a form of denial- one that has without doubt developed and grown within over years…this reaction should be their legacy & what is most remembered about the reality of this individual, but I doubt it will- but it’s not fooling me, not for a damn minute-
