Sadly I’m not sure how to get this book online! Here’s the official page, but they seem to be sold out. :(
www.chroniclebooks.com/products/the-box
thank you!!
No worries, I was able to find a copy! Thank you for replying :D
How was the paper?
Because I have a sketchbook and it's paper isn't made out of wood or cotton, but a secret third thing. (My guess is rocks, but they never specified anywhere, other than "wood free") And it doesn't work well with wet mediums, takes ages to dry, if at all
@@justpinegone paper free usually means its made from lime leftover from concrete production iirc
Hi Kasey. My name is Brian McMullen and I'm the person who made this book, THE BOX! Thank you for this wonderful, inventive video. You might also enjoy my two-way picture book HANG GLIDER AND MUD MASK. It has a unique z-shaped binding (sometimes called a "dos-a-dos" binding), and the story is meant to be read in an infinite loop...
Is there a place to buy this book? I can't find it in stock anywhere :(
Absolutely love your work! Very unique and pretty
Brian we must know.. when is the restock? 👀🙌
Please please reprint/restock this amazing book
As a pixel artist, I LOVE this book and wanna doodle in it so badly 😭
I hope you can find one then.
i love looking at pixel art, do you have any socials you post your art on? i’d love to see it!
All digital artists are technically pixel artists as long as they use bmp and not svg
@@YuktubeIsDaFunniOne the difference is the intent
@@star_is_g I guess but it depends on what type of pixel art you mean, art that’s made of pixels or pixels made into art
Your attitude of "it's okay, we can move on, we're having fun" is so inspiring! I usually struggle to draw anything at all because I'm so worried about it not looking good, so I really needed this!
My depth perception could never be able to wrap my head around this notebook lmao I love it nonetheless
If you use isometric views you don’t need depth perception!
@@cynthiabrogan9215 yeah it literally does it for you aha, you just direct lines to the vanishing point
@@notaseat5934 that’s not an isometric view! You’re thinking of one point perspective which looks similar but is actually very different!
@@cynthiabrogan9215 I did think so, I am aware of isometric grids and the difference between that and perspective grids using vanishing points. I was misinformed by the video we're both commenting on, as the person in the video themself stated there was a single vanishing point
@@notaseat5934 yeah most people would think that so I don’t blame them. I used to do engineering drawings and had to do perspective drawings for school which is probably the only reason I know this
"So horrifying! OMG, this is nightmare-ish ... I gotta draw more!!"
I laughed so haaaard! Hahahaha
I'm only 3 minutes in and my face hurts from smiling. Your creativity is absolutely delightful!!
Ah, the pains of happiness
Ahhhhhh this sketchbook is so cool!!!! You could use it to design the house/bed rooms of your ocs, Hatch, Owlina (agh spelling lol) and Dennis. It would be so cool to see you design a space for them that reflects their personalities!
This is an amazing idea! I wonder if they'd live together or in their own houses? I imagine one really weirdly shaped house to accommodate all of their different shapes and sizes and they would need different sized/shaped doors and furniture so it would be really higgledy-piggledy and wonky but also reflect their personalities coming together in the communal areas so it's really homely and shows that they are a family despite their differences. 🤣
This would be really good for learning perspective.
Very true!!
What a cool idea for a sketcbook, especially because they added different distributions of lines on eavh page so you can make different experiments with them!
Idk about you Kasey, but the little flying square animals were weirdly cute, the pig definitely made my day!
They were definitely one of my favourites to work on!
I really appreciate that you go straight into these fun sketches with pen and include the mistakes in the final cut. I have trouble starting any new sketchbook and these inspire me to just jump right into them!
An actual completely new and strange art supply, I am intrigued and kind of want it... even though I'd have no use for it hahah
omg I want to build little homes and rooms in this so much
Little houses would be so fun!!!
Those loaf-y animals would be a great gachapon set!
That is so cool! I would love that haha I am terrible at perspective etc and what a fun way to practice isometric stuff 😍
Hullo Kasey, I feel like you need an encouraging comment for your bravery in random sketching on such a goofy sketchbook! So here it is. Way to go Kasey! Whoot Whoot! You just keep drawing and drawing ✍️. Have a lovely day.
"I'm not good at being straight." - Same here xD
The monobrow guy looks very Seussical in style! It's neat, contrasting with your usually bubbly smooth style 👍
Eh? I LOVE this sketchbook! So cool :O Love what you did also of course.
I think it called oblique. It has horizontal, vertical, and 45 degree lines. Isometric has vertical with 2 ways 30 degree line. Perspective has vanishing point(s).
Yup. I know it under the nams of "Cavalier perspective"
6:15 Me too Kasey, me too (in both ways)
It looks so unique. Love how you managed to deal with it=)
I love the chill no pressure sketching content!! :)
I love the weird flat dog with a cat tail. Love.
This is awesome. I can't find The Box sketchbook online. Do you have a link, or the publisher?
Just found it, sadly out of stock! Not sure where to find it other than Opus, where I got it in Vancouver!

"I'm not good at being straight" me too... me too...
Just rediscovered your channel after not watching since about middle school/highschool and I’m in college now wow !! I forgot how much I enjoyed your style and personality :))
that sketchbook would make it so cool to make room designsss!
It would be fun for different Celtic knots since you usually use graph paper for those
the bunny on the side 11:46 looks so trippy
Thus one was so much fun! I love it when you are so happy during your creative process.
I too want to buy this sketch/grid book. Where can I buy this online? I just love what you did with it! I'm off to go draw on my grid paper 😍❤️. Thanks for inspiring me!!
I didn't find it but that's so cool
I can’t find it online, unfortunately! 😭
I have a lot of cardboard I’m gonna recycle ( use ) and a lot of different drawing papers. I am tempted to make crazy sketch books now. lol
the cube animals had me laughing and horrified at the same time. love it
"And I am not good at being straight" That's the most relatable thing I've ever heard
I want the cube bunny as a sticker ! It’s so skrungly :)
Square book sponsored by Square space 😳😳😳
Oh wait it's literally a square space
This was such a fun video and really messes with the perspective 😮
I wouldn't have any idea how to use this sketchbook until watching this video, I absolutely love this
I loved this so much! I used to watch your isometric room videos years ago and I was so obsessed. I'm glad I found you again!
6:14 “I am not good at being straight” same
Been a while since I watched a full video I'm glad I started with this one
I love this cause Kasey gave me that isometric room addiction. 😍

This was honestly such a fun fun video to watch :)) I laughed sm
the bong is my favorite sketch 😂
omg how can you come up with such good things to draw in such a short time? loving your art style
The moment I saw the thumbnail I thought "Ooo sketchbook for isometric room designs!". I've always loved your isometric pieces. :D This thing is so cool, it's like opening up a little 3D world. Really fun video, been catching up lately!💕
(18:05 I love how he's got forehead wrinkles UNDER his eyebrow😂)
Very cool! Love the little cube world with the murder bunny.
always enjoy watching the things you create :')
WOw!!! COOL and challenging book!!!
Love what you did in this video. 😊👍🏻
Murderous bunny reminds me of the one in "Monty Python and The Holy Grail"
True!!
This is a very interesting sketchbook and I hope to try it out someday when it comes back in stock. It's really different! Thank you for sharing!
I love ur vids you just keep surprising me and getting cooler 😭

Seems really good for studying perspective!
Just found your channel now and I love your mind!!! Unexpected inspiration; achieved.
That cube pig is fricking awesome!!
You are so creative!!
Great for perspective drawings and landscapes with buildings.
This was seriously so unexpectedly cute and I was not expecting to laugh so much
wow this was so cool!!
This got fun and interesting fast. Your creativity is epic 😲👏

That would drive me crazy too. I’m with you on that one, Kasey.

wow this video was so inspiring! Kinda want to go draw some little guys now
Love for that Muji pen!
"You know what's hard to draw? a lot of things" 😂

That blasting-off bunny will haunt my dreams now! Thanks Kasey :D
this ended up so fun
👍it! Nice work !
Perfect sketchbook for practicing in prospective study👌✨
Dude this note book would be amazing for my Calculus 3 class!! At the moment we’re learning 3d coordinate system. So instead of just 2d graphs which has (x,y) coordinate system, it’s now a (x,y,z) coordinate system.
It would also be great for when I have CAD/drafting engineering class. Like it looks like perfect set up for 3d models instead of just using graph paper.
I love the chaos in here 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cant stop smiling
OPTICAL ILLUSION SKETCHBOOK?! The animal's were definitely favorite part😂
Please do more sketchbook pages in this book!
I am in tears looking at this sketchbook😭
It is very interesting, you have a great creativity that I admire you a lot! 💙💙💙💙💙
Greatings from the other side of the world from Buenos Aires Argentina
Woo, it's the box designed by Brian McMullen. He's an awesome print, magazine, and book designer.
"Not good at being straight." -Subscribed 😀
I'm also not good at being straight 😂😂
Damn, now I want that sketchbook
That is such a unique sketchbook. I feel it would help people like me understand perspective a little easier. But man it does mess with your eyes.
3:59 There is a museum in Washington DC that has a huge naked man sitting in the corner of a wall. I wish I could remember which museum it is in. But that just reminded me of it.
