Printmaking using LEGOs have been a technique used for YEARS, did you know?! It's been becoming more and more popular amongst artists online, so I had to give it a try! I think I'm in love!!!

Lego Dots - Zábava
I’ve been dying to try this process since Lego Dots came out! The reason why the ink isn’t fully sticking to the paper is because you’re not supposed to use a brayer to create the print. A baren or the back of a wooden spoon would transfer the ink better onto the paper since you can apply more pressure using those tools. A brayer is somewhat soft so not good for applying pressure but perfect for applying ink!
I was coming to the comments to say this!
I follow someone on Instagram who does lego prints, I always wondered why they use a wooden spoon! This makes so much sense 😅
what's the @? I'm curious how it looks @@zp5016
"Get Worms" seems like such a rare insult. I love it.
The little bugs are so cool, they almost look like an alien language in a sci-fi movie or something
As someone who loves both Lego and Lino printing, I HAVE to try this! It’s such a fun way of having super clean lines and distinct shapes, also for me personally, I always love the imperfections of the ink in printing, it makes each one unique
Those bugs seem highly marketable in a continuous pattern for RedBubble products, or as stickers and pins. A combination bug and worm pattern sounds so cute.
My nephew (9) has recently decided to make his own card game (something along the lines of top trumps/pokemon cards) about slimes. Each slime has the same basic shape (a slightly elongated semi circle/half oval) and then each has its own little additions to show what kind of slime it is. After seeing this video I may have to grab him a set or two of these because that would be so fun!
Thinner paper works better for Linoprinting or Legoprinting 😆 instead of using the roller to press the paper, a wooden spoon works well as a brayer. Also you could try a spritz of water on the paper before applying it to the legos to help pick up the ink. Quite clever! And cute! And using larger legos as a registration system, perfect! That was fun to watch.
I absolutely loved the starry night sky print
So beautiful. The Lego outline added so much character 💗
Would gelli plates help? I think the main issue is that you're trying to print with solid material (lego) on solid material (paper). Stamping on the gelli plate first and then transferring on paper might work better.
Also, I love this idea! The bugs are my favourites. Will try those with our modern art set for sure.
You have to push down really hard on the paper and make sure it’s totally evenly covered with ink
Legos ARE an art material/supply and a form of art. People can make some crazy things with Legos.
I love the little bug prints! They would make such a cute little sticker pack!💕🪲
I inherited some print making supplies but never, ever used them mainly cus I didn't want to deal with carving. So I got rid of them and like a day later saw someone doing this on IG and was like. "Oh my god, duh."
I love how many different crafty things you do in your videos, showing that art isnt just illustrations. it really reminds me of the fun and creative process! I so want to do this lego printing I've seen a lot of it and its soooo cool - I super love your bugs theyre so cute aaaaaa :3
OMG! I've done this with the kiddos and it's so much fun. Never thought to layer the prints or put the print plate on a bigger plate and use other Leogs for registration marks. BRILLIANT!
Love the tiled lettering so much! And since it's done on a grid the worms and letters lined up perfectly
Oh my gosh! The timing on this video! I’m in a college printmaking course right now, and I just sent this video to my professor. Seeing you make a jig with the Lego pieces was so cool!! And these pieces are so fun!!
I absolutely LOVE the little bug prints, they look great!
The starry worm is so beautiful
Lego gonna see this and release it as a set for 99.99.
Thinner paper is recomended for lino, which she is basically doing and more rubbing, but not with the roller for better results
i love seeing people start learning printmaking even in unconventional ways! printmaking is so fun and rewarding because you literally see the process and can reproduce the same image! now i gotta get some lego stuff because carving clean letters with zero noise is so time consuming
The bugs turned out so cute!!
If you’re bothered and you want a better print you could always lightly sand the pieces so they hold ink a lot better!
I make Lego prints like these and I agree! There are not enough rounded ends!
That was so cool! Love the texture!
It’s 1:20 AM and we have to prep for a trip at 3 AM but I wanna watch this instead of sleeping rn.

Kasey! I'd love to see your little bugs on one piece of paper! They'd make such a cute little grid :-)
Sometimes when printing with legos you gotta scuff up their surface with a superfine sandpaper to give the ink a place to hold to.
Lego is the gift that keeps on giving, just as generous as Kasey ☺☺☺
Pretty sure they discontinued the DOTS line at the end of 23, which is a shame because this line is so lovely for detail work in Lego and I think would also make great textural and interactive art and braille that would hold up decently well to having hands constantly touch the art pieces all day
This past semester in one of my English classes (I’m an English Ed major) we learned about print making and printing presses! Since William Blake and his wife would make art for his poems, and how it worked and the labor put into it so it’s so cool to see you do this with legos!!!
my guess is that being glossy plastic pieces, that keeps them from maybe picking the ink correctly? i would try to sand them a little... and for sure use a wooden spoon to apply pressure with the paper instead, it works usually works better
Oooh, I may have to try this as my next printmaking project! I LOVE the texture you got in yours and I love your small prints.
Love the prints…especially the bugs! So cute!!! ❤❤❤
You can make small sticker sets out of this cute bugs? And washy tapes too!
These turned out great and the tiny bugs are adorable
as a lego fan putting ink on legos seems cursed, but it does look pretty cool
i forgot dots comes with a really hard to use brick separator
How cool!! What a great idea! 😍👍
The bug prints look like a legit set of game cards 🤔
So I can’t find prixels, so this looks interesting me!!
Hullo Kasey, I wanted to get some LEGO's and I looked around and found the best options was on e-Bay! If you go to a big city where they have a LEGO store that sells individual pieces you can buy any shape you need. I know there are online places as well, but they were out of my price range! I saw several comments that mention spoons for rubbing the ink onto your paper. You can also try a softer paper that will grab the ink or paint better. Just gotta do more testing!!
It looks suprisly good :)
this was so great omg
cool idea
This is awesome 😍
Brooo u r awsomazintastic
I really want to use this technique to print some designs in tote bags!!!!!
After 2 hear I revisiting this channel again. I don't know what going on with this fews hear in my life, it not make sense 😅. Yaa... Love ❤the change in this channel.
You could use the prints to create borders around your art? Or patterns to fill up areas?
I, personally, love the worms!!!
I love your videos iam your biggest fan i love your videos i watch you ever day
The bug prints are so cute!!! (^-^)
Perhaps ink and thinner paper would help?
Personally, I consider lego a type of art supply! I think about it like how I use clay for figure making! It's all about creating something new and the limitations are barely existent!! :]!!!
Pawsome raw uwu XD
The Kasey merchandise empire grows. It's going to rival Moriah Elizabeth's critical amount of OCs that she made merchandise out of.
What kind of ink do you use? And the paper?
5:35 those are definitely not good layouts for mini motorways. Maybe if you add a roundabout?
Would it work to do this on shirts do you think?
posted minutes ago then one comment was posted a day ago? wut
I think her patreon members get early access to videos
The vid was just set to private/unlisted, thats how most youtubers do it :)
1:12 why are some red pieces in the purple section?! 😭
kasey is reckless
She likes living of the edge.
Now i want Legos! I'm 54! And I want Legos! 😂
