  • On Line 3 in the metro of Budapest, Hungary there are soviet train cars running. I had a blast into the past riding such trains that used to run across the whole soviet union.

    I call those doors the arm crushers, because it looks like if you tried to keep the door open you would break your arm.

    I like your metro! Old but gold they says ;) it's super clean, no graffiti :) in Bucharest is super dirty ! In Sofia we have few of those trains but renovate and 40 of the new model. Also good and comfy. I'm proud that our metro in Sofia is also clean :)

      Bucharest is cleaner now that the old Astra IVA trains (the ones with grafitti) are on M4 only now (the newest and barely used line)

    Catch them while you can! Sadly, these old workhorses are off to be modernised :( There are still a few 81-71 trains in Warsaw but despite being a lot younger, they are not due to last much longer either.

    У Будапештских "номерных", судя по характеру шума, ТЭД явно не ДК-117, а более ранние, которые устанавливались еще на типы Е и Ем.

      +Koji Patch from what I caught in a report was the city is going to buy new ones from Russia, only problem is they are brand new but look exactly the same. the russians never updated their designs for the shell/body, i'm sure the undercarriage is updated O' and the color is ........... wait for it......RED!

    • @AttilaBP
      @AttilaBP Před 8 lety

      +joe blo Not Exactly new ones from Russia, The old ones are getting refurbished and they are getting a new design both on the in an and outside of the train

    • @blinski1
      @blinski1 Před 8 lety

      +joe blo It would be cool if Wagonmash (Russian company) never updated design of its trains, I can tell you. These trains make half of the M1 line in Warsaw metro's rolling stock. Most of them are from the late 80's/early 90's and look only slightly more modern than these in the video (different front lights, interior finish and fluorescent tubes, not these round lights), but in the mid 2000's we bought a few new trains from Wagonmash and they look completely different, inside and outside (fronts). First of all, they're ugly -- new fronts don't match the same old side walls; second, interior is less comfortable and vents work horrible in contrast to older cars.

    • @AttilaBP
      @AttilaBP Před 8 lety

      blinski These trains have to be upgraded because multiple time this year already they caught on fire and same as last year, the whole line is getting refurbished thankfully.

    • @blinski1
      @blinski1 Před 8 lety

      ***** They caught fire? Wow, that sounds serious. Of course, even if they were completely safe, I don't think it would be controversial statement they needed refurbishment (judging by the video). I was just commenting on completely new Warsaw trains (as they were in 2005) of the 81 series and how I like the old ones better (thankfully even over 25 yo trains in Warsaw look almost like new, maintenance in our subway is great).
