ALCO's in August at the Valley

Today we have quite the treat. Valley Railroad 97 re-entered service in 2018 but since then has only run during the Christmas season and on a photo charter until now. We knew it was up and running but weren't sure what the plan for it was. We knew 40 was scheduled to run this day so CT Shoreline Productions and I headed down to see what we got. We chased 40 on the 11 o'clock run before deciding to follow the lunch train up to Goodspeed and back (included in another video). After coming back to the station we saw that 97 had taken over control of the train. We then caught it leading the 2 o'clock and 3:30 trains. Thanks for watching and as always God Bless!!!

Nice video! One small thing, 97 was built in 1923, not 1926. The brass medallion on the smokebox door is misleading. She was built as a stock engine for Cuba, but the sale never materialized. She was sold to the Birmingham and Southeastern in March of 1926.
