- Well a guy can only drive around listening to engine noise for so long, especially when its a VQ under the hood. I finally decided to pull the trigger and upgrade my old broken Android head unit with a new more powerful one from Joying. This new stereo has an 8 core ARM processor, 4GB of RAM, a 64gb hard drive, and a 1080P IPS rated capacitive touch screen display. Now all that sounds fancy but is it really any good? Find out on this episode of Garage 23! Hope you enjoy and please Subscribe for more Content. Thanks! Arigato! Gracias! Merci!

I might have to just ditch my idea of doing a double din for this head unit in the SC lol. Btw I never got the notification that this video was uploaded but thank you for the shoutout! 🙌🏽
YESS! Been looking forward to see this one! Such a clean install and doesnt feel out of place
Its a little too good, so far it blew out one of my speakers 😅
subscribing because you are the only man in the world to be showing this new stuff. Thanks man. Can't wait to block my heater vents!!!
Installed one of these in my sons FJ Cruiser. Worked great for 2 weeks then started to lose the screen when hitting bumps but the sound still worked. After removing the unit from the vehicle and dismantling the head unit we found the ribbon cable inside the unit didn’t have a positive lock like the side on the monitor. The ribbon cable connector inside the unit was shorter and allowed about 1/8” of movement up and down. I modified the cable plug using another ribbon cable from a computer super gluing the 1/8 plastic piece on top of the connector to give it extra height and now a positive lock inside. If anyone has the same symptoms this could be your issue too. Ever since the fix no problems.
I had a similar issue but mine was due to a weak ground. Since the ac trim isnt attached to metal like the original stereo mount i had to run a dedicated ground wire.

Very good and informative video. I definetely want to buy this one, but I suggest 8 ram / 128 gb. Thank you bro! And good luck. I from Ukraine =) , SO PIECE FOR UKRAINE!
Great Video! Very informative and you have a very pleasant demeanor which is refreshing. Any solutions yet for adding tilt or extend functionality? Thanks again!
clean seamless install, especially with the HVAC swap. kudos‼️ so i might buy this for a ‘16 nissan frontier; how’d you wire in the steering wheel controls? did you have to posi-tap wires or did the stereo recognize your controls? i have the axxess ASWC module but not sure if i need it to program with. overall minus the lack of physical volume buttons on the screen, super solid head unit. was skeptical but you made me a believer. earned a sub from me, kind sir!
Why thank you Sir Red Raider! That's what I love about these units, you don't need any of the extra modules, you just take the wires from the steering wheel and wire them straight to the unit. From there you can set each button to whatever you want in the settings.
@@Garage23 very good to hear i’ll check out the wiring harness diagram! looking forward to the tire pressure sensor install, sounds nice to have. i also might opt for the DVR dash cam. thanks for the detailed install, cheers friend!
Great video playboy, thanks for sharing it
I have the exact unit. Been riding with it for a week now on my Tacoma and I’m pretty satisfied with it so far. Haven’t had any issues and it’s pretty responsive. Def an easy install compared to a lot of units & and way cheaper. Def worth the bang for your buck. You can do so much with this unit with customization, app downloads etc… it’s endless.
Nice! Yes these units have definitely come a long way, especially with the addition of 4g cell service and more RAM
@@Garage23 yea I use the 4G all the time. I honestly don’t even hook up to apple car play. Def one of the top brands out there for android head units. Great job on the install, review, & video. Some cons to it, but easy to deal with for the price
@@hectorderas3064 Thank you 🙏🏻
@@hectorderas3064 was it hard to install if u get the parts from crutch field it will go in trying to install on Jetta
@@stanmogilevksy8581 contact joying, because sometimes they have complete units for your specific car. Meaning the screen, dash kit, and harnesses. If not, then yes you buy your own dash kit. Installation is easy! mostly plug and play with a few wires to tap into here and there. That though….! depends on if you have had un upgraded radio or not before and who’s done the work and how the wiring looks back there. Hope that helps
I loved the intro. You earned my sub!
Thank you 😁
@@Garage23 You’re welcome! Do you seen any issue installing this in a 2011 Jeep Wrangler?
@@OfficialDSFN shouldnt be, actually i think they offer a specific kit for the wrangler.
@@Garage23 I found it! Yes!
Nice video bro, thanks for uploading 😊 btw, how’s the sound quality?? Maybe you can make us another video on that. Cheers!
there isnt alot of info out there on these units, Ill just put this here, In my 2017 ram 1500 with their canbus harness, I didnt lose any stock controls or functions.....nothing. every button like back and screen off, volume/mute knob all work no lag, rear cam, swc's hvac on screen and settings. It doesnt display nav in the center dash obviously. Its a really nice upgrade. If you want to use the stock amp get a DSR1 to go with it.
thank you for the review. Were you able to sync your contacts with the bluetooth dialer? If so, how? Thank you!
So far that's the only actual problem I've had, i can't sync my contacts and they keep getting erased from my phone.
Great vid! Does it record front and rear cam video as soon as you start the engine, like a dash cam?
Thank you! And no the dash cam is a seperate accesory you can add. Thanks for the sub 🙌🏻
Glad my 04 WJ has a good layout and dont have to move anything. Might have to get this one. Looks great def way ot should of come from fac.
WJ ftw
Great video and install. This might b the head unit I have been looking for. Is it still all good? Did you use your front and rear cam and tpms etc? As the listing says unit only supports joying accessories!! Thank you.
Yup still works great, you get the occasional hiccup like a random restart or app closing but overall pretty solid. Front and rear camera are used daily and the tpms we haven't installed yet.
@@Garage23 cheers
Nice intro
I have a question im looking to get the 13.3 model. How do this unit hold up to an external amp and speaker system pushing 1000 watts?
I tried installing that Eonon unit in my car last year and the motherboard was messed up. They sent a new one out really quick but one of the wires was messed up and I was just done after that. 😒
I got the same one. I have rca cables for my subwoofer. I didn’t understand how to connect it to the back of the radio. Red and whit goes where in the back of the radio. I only see one plug for the sub
Great content. This is one of the units I've been looking at.
On the issue of the non-tilting screen, to be fair, I'm not aware of any OEM head unit screens that tilt, so being fixed in place is no big deal to me. And the IPS screen will mean that visibility should be excellent no matter what angle you're viewing the screen.
One thing I'm not clear on is vehicle integration, for example climate control info, door open/close etc being displayed on the screen. (And steering wheel controls). Did the unit just automatically figure this out when you connected it or did you have to go into settings and configure it for your car? Did you have to buy a CANBUS decoder box for your particular vehicle? Did it come with the unit?
I'm not too clear on this either as the can bus integration didn't seem to recognize our car, but that could be because it's a very early version that only carries speed and engine temp data. To my understanding the vehicle specific units come with a harness to properly connect to the vehicles can bus network. I'm assuming those units would automatically sort out the data and display it accordingly.
@@Garage23 Did it come with a separate CANBUS decoder box? My understanding is that some vehicles need one and some vehicles don't. It seems so dumb to me that auto manufacturers haven't agreed on a simple standard for radio/navigation/etc connectors so that you just unplug your old one and plug in the new one and all the features of your old one are carried over to the new one, like climate settings, open/close door, etc. Even the colors of the wiring doesn't seem to be consistent across the board. Luckily there are companies like Metra that make special harnesses for your individual car.
Ours did not since it was a universal unit, i wired the can bus manually but it didn't seem to do anything. I agree this needs to be standardized, would help with engine swaps immensely that's for sure 😅
@@Garage23 Was there a CANBUS options screen in settings? If so, sometimes you can get things working by selecting a vehicle that is similar to yours (if yours is not specifically listed). But yeah, all this should be plug and play.
@@JustWasted3HoursHere There is, but it's not that simple. It seems to need a combination of different settings to decode the signal and i just didn't bother anymore after the first few attempts. Again this is probably something that's already sorted out on the model specific units.
hi just watched your vid, great job of moving position of unit. had some older head unit ( differnt brand and very disappointing , )
Thanks! We also had an older Eonon unit and it had a lot of features but didn't actually do any of them. 😅
I have this same head unit and it performs very well. The only issue I have is the stereo wont allow access to external USB drives. Manufacturer says format the drives to FAT32, but that has not worked. I keep getting the error "this device does not support android storage access framework". If anyone knows a work around to get the USB access working I would greatly appreciate it.
What type of drive are you trying to use? Some of them consume too much power.
How is the auto screen dimming function? Does it dim reasionably at night or are u having to adjust it and then re-adjust it next day and on and on.... Are there separate adjustments (user defined) for day britness setting and night setting?
Yes they are seperate user defined for day and night
Great video! Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't carry it currently. Do you have a similar recommendation? Thanks!
Any Joying unit with at least 4gb of ram should be pretty good.
Today October 2022 Would you please tell me about the sound fidelity? Because in some chats I saw bad comments...thank you...sorry my english I want to buy Joying in Aliexpress
hi...I want to get it installed by you if u are in or around Chicago area. Please let me know. FYI, I have a 2012 Honda Accord.
AT 28:38 , it look like you have a new software. Could you explain how you made this ?
Thanks Men Really nice Video !
Thanks for the sub! That's just Nova Launcher, you can download it from the app store for free and set it as your default interface 👍🏻
@@Garage23 Wow Thanks for the INFO :)
Hey man can you advice me why my joying keep draining my battery.
I’ve Toyota 2006
Is there a radio/DAB antenna included, or do you have to buy it separately?
It does not, it uses the cars existing antenna
I recently installed the 13.3 joying android head unit, I really love it! Question: what network sim card are you using in your for internet? I just got bought Cricket sim card I got signals but no internet .
Im using tmobile, also make sure to lock in the sim card, mine didnt work at first because it was loose.
@@Garage23 thank you! I will double check to make sure the sim card is in and lock. In the description on Ebay they showed the support and the not supported network types, T-mobile are in the not supported network and your is working with that network.
@@yadmoto1607 Did you ever get internet? And which sim are you using now?
At 27:24 your screen is different. I just bought and installed a JY-UQS10N6G-H (first ever android head unit) and can't figure out how to get my screen like yours. I don't really like the original home screen setup
It's Nova Launcher you can download it from the app store and customize it to your liking.
The digital out is for a DSP like a mini DSP
Tried installing today in 2018 Honda accord lx… but that harness that came with it doesn’t fit the oem plug ins …. Idk what to do 😭😭 it’s the weirdest looking harness I ever seen I can’t find it anywhere
You just need an adapter harness for your car and cut the end off the supplied plug and splice them together.
I just installed this 11.6 “ unit on my honda crv 2017 LX, evrything working perfect at the moment, except the back up camera. I connected the two yellow connection to the unit. Any help is welcome!
There should be a red wire with the yellow RCA connectors this connects to your backup lights to let the unit know to switch to reverse view.
my joying have problem with the cable flat for lcd , but it not equal at ide cable and i don't know where to buy it , can you say me where buy it and cable model name? excuse me for my english
They sell a 1 meter long version on their website, if you want the original short one you would have to contact them and ask.

How did you wire up the front camera to the head unit and use button on steering wheel to activate it?thanks
I connected the front camera to the av input of the unit and used the button mapping app in the unit to set it to a button on the wheel.
@@Garage23 ah ok cool thanks!!
Are you able to go back and forth with the stock interface?
Yes you can choose in the settings what launcher you prefer. Personally I like Nova launcher better than the stock interface.
Question can this radio fit in my 2018 honda accord sport ?????
This is a universal radio for single DIN opening dashboards, yours looks like an integrated infotainment system so it probably wont work for you.
how change kmh to mph for you joying 11.6 android 10
I need help I’ve installed mine and can get a back up camera to work put my front camera has a warning I can’t see the camera says something about cannot come on while driving please help
The front camera I have wired to an ignition on source, so it's just on if the car is on. That worked fine for me. Not sure if there might be a setting on yours preventing yours from coming on.
I have a in may dodge lot problems never working good anytime stop frozen screen reset every 30 minutes heart or no support jps maybe
How did you stop the annoying beeping sound when touching the screen? I have the same unit and can't find tge option in the settings... Thank you
Same here its so annoying loud. I contacted joying and never gotten a response back.
You can turn it off in the sound settings
@@darkoz1692 I can not find it anywhere in the sound settings...Do you know where exactly it is located?
The connections is standard iso plugs
is it fit in 2019 toyota corolla se hatchback?
It doesn't look like it will fit.
I wish I was a baller to buy a 3 million dollar head unit like you 💀😆
🤑
I got the same one, I tried to connect my service but it’s not working and it’s reading that it has 2 sim slots but t can only locate 1. What was your phone carrier at the time and how did you connect the sim
You have to lock in the sim with the silver bracket, i had to get a new sim so it would fit the bracket properly. Then restart the unit.
@@Garage23 i followed all the steps, I inserted the sim 3mm into the sim slot lock it into place with the sliver latch. Then I rebooted it. When I checked the system it read it’s in slot #2 even tho I put it in the only SIM card slot I can find which is the cord coming from the back.
Hmmm, in the mobile network settings do you have mobile data turned on?
@@Garage23 yes
Not sure then, i remember mine took a couple tries too, mostly cuz i didn't realize the silver bracket slid up to lock the sim in. Even then it took a couple reboots to catch but it's been working fine ever since.
I got the snapdragon 11.6 one. Brother brother please! Turn that beep off in the settings! Best mod you should do asap
How do you get that annoying beep off?
Pretty wrote off these types until. Watch vids on joying. They seem pretty legit. Some people dig atoto too but more ln budget side. I agree the mounting practicle but probably not the best. But most new factory ones dont tilt so guess whatever.
1. Have you tried installing another 3rd party theme?
2. Can you connect two phones via Bluetooth at once?
Yes i am currently using Nova Launcher for a custom theme.
Unfortunately it can only connect through bluetooth to one phone at a time.
Can you do a video on launcher and different themes?
Wonder if the airbags sends this flying to your face XD

Yes radio works
What is the UI change password?
Sold out for Civic 2012 2015 🤦♂️
I'm reviewing the company not the specific head unit
The product is actually pretty good BUT the customer service is the worst probably in the world they're terrible I had a problem a month after and their solution was to send me a part and make me get it fixed myself and when that part didn't work and decided I needed a new screen they want to charge me for the screen and for shipping I've only had it 9 months AND REPORTED MY PROBLEM AFTER 4 weeks and I bought it direct from the company so I would think twice about recommending this company
Ahhh no wireless CarPlay?
Yes wireless carplay and android auto but i had to update the firmware.
IPS is a type of lcd, not a rating.
I've been waiting two years for this comment! 🤣 I got it confused with ip65-8 ratings
Pas de volume en tactile
If it's only using 2GB of 4GB total RAM, then the OS sucks. Android is designed to use all available RAM. Android works much differently then PC.
Why call them chinese radio when they are all made in china?
😅 thats a good point
Do not buy Joying products. I have the same head unit with too many problems with it. The Joying customer service does not help me. They say "your order number is bad" while I send them a screen shot of a purchase on ebay. The unit has screen problems, network connection problems, car canbus connection problem, and the main problem - it does not play a sound on the car rear speakers. It's just a poor quality chinese product with no warranty. Be aware!
I've had a few Joying head units over the years and never had an issue with any of them.
@@darkoz1692 I have too many problems with the Joying head unit. Right now it loses steering wheel button programming, so I can't control the volume until I reprogram the button again and again... Crappy chinese shit.
