I truly believe a beaver is one of the brightest engineers in the world..any animal the size of a beaver who can take sticks and strategically place them to where they won't float off while they gather more sticks and brush, truly is something to behold!
Why is it so satisfying to watch beaver dams get torn down? I could watch this all day. When i was a kid we had a small creek way out behind our house and i would take all my moms pottery and go build a full on dam with a spillway, let it fill up, go swimming in it, then tear down one corner and watch it flood, build back up and repeat
I love these types of videos, its so satisfying just to see someone free and make water flow and destroy the thing blocking it. Its just I am worried about the beavers, or its abandoned.
Makes me chuckle how the best part is missed cus you're busy working and forget to leave the camera there for a lil while so we can see the gush of water, I blooming love these videos x
I get your point but you can also look at it another way. Beavers are doing what they are supposed to do, managing the watershed for free. Its us humans who have encroached into riparian environments through farming and housing. We need the Beavers just need to find smarter way to co-exist.
How long does it take them to build it back I remember working on one literally clean the pipe out went back a week later don't even look like I was there
Is water so muddy because it's run-off from fields and it just rained? Also, yes, most satisfying thing. I don't know why I watch dam removal videos, but I love them.
Machine videos are always relaxing. Is the landowner actively trapping the beaver making all that? If not, they'll be right back at it, reusing those nice mounds of building material you've stacked up there. For the amount of power those excavators have, they sure are quiet!
I have trapped them in the past but this connects to a larger creek and new families move back in yearly! This trackhoe would be much quieter if it still had a muffler. Thanks for the comment!

Very impressive machine operation! Smoooooth! How long did it take the beavers to rebuild the dams? I am a nuisance trapper and have seen them rebuild a dam overnight.
I trap a little as well and yes they usually rebuild any damage over night but in this case they have not yet. To much damage to repair and the fact they have no water to retain now this dam was built in a flood type situation when the water left they had a dam in place to hold back water
I have a case 580 super L (extend hoe) turbo, and I do stuff like this on my days off, so fun, if I was a retired millionaire I’d buy bigger equipment and do this for free, Duno why it’s so fun with a 6pack of beer, almost therapeutic in nature (pun intended) to do this in remote areas by yourself.
Yeah their only removed if it caused issues like a clogged culvert or if the water is spilling onto the road. Other than that it’s illegal to mess with a beaver dam
G’day, I live in Australia and we don’t have Beavers here. Just curious where they live? I’m assuming it’s not in the dams themselves so is it in the nearby banks??
Well I can see why the Beavers get pissed when people tear they're damn down when it take so long for them to make it hahaha now they can start over to build another one thanks for the video
They plugged the ditch causing the water level to rise flooding the field we farm making it to muddy to plant. Do I go around tearing out beaver dams for fun no it takes time and resources.
I have an actual question: why destroy a never dam? Holding back water allows it to saturate the fields and land over time. I know out west (Utah, Nevada) beavers are being reintroduced into creeks and rivers to help the land recover from when they were removed in the 1800’s. There are multiple videos and documentaries about it. Why not let nature play it’s part and work around it to help the land stay healthy? Just don’t know what your thoughts are on this and if you have ever seen the destruction that came when the beaver were removed from the waterways our west.
I rekon that beavers and animals really do own the land but as a farmer trying to raise a crop and produce food i cant have them flooding a 100 acres of my crop removing the dam doesn’t rid them of our creeks but things work differently out west then our deep creeks and levee systems do in these parts beavers here rarely build huts to live in either they dig holes in the banks to live in
@@BigCreekFarms 🤔 well I reckon you know a lot more about your land than I do. Was just thinking of if a drought hit, having saturated land or maybe a high ground pond that’ll seep through the ground wouldn’t be a bad thing. I enjoyed watching this video. Thanks partner.

Beavers are excellent engineers and their dams cost nothing but costs several thousand dollars to dismantle them while the Chinese dams cost billions but coat nothing to "burse" them as it bursed by itself. . So beaver engineers are much much smarter and clever in dams building.

Beavers are good for streams. That farmer's field is too close to the waterway. Streams need wide buffers so the water can meander back and for cleaning the water by letting is soak through the dirt back into the aquifer and reduce flooding downstream. Our water resources are dwindling and beaver provide water storage.

This has been one if not the best one yet. He used alot more logic in his approach to taking them out than others have.
Not everyone can afford to buy, let alone, haul all over creation, pieces of heavy equipment.
Always amazed at how well beavers make those dams. Couple ground critters dragging sticks around are able to make something that lasts. Unreal.
