    Season 1 was supposed to be 10 but covid made them shorten it to 8. I think season 2 will be 10 episodes.
    1. Loguetown
    2. Reverse Mountain
    3. Whiskey Peak
    4. Little Garden
    5. Drum Island Part 1

    7. Alabasta Part 1

      Reverse Mountain arc can be split in episode 1 and 2. Episode 1 ends when the crew entered the Grand Line and found a mysterious large mountain (whale). And then the start of episode 2 will be the Laboon backstory + whole of Whiskey Peak. So that episode 3 will be all Little Garden which will be a cool detail since the main villain is related to the number 3

    As much as i wanted the season 2 to slow down and let season 3 to alabasta? The problem is its a live action, actors age by year so i wanted it to end the alabasta in season 2 and added more episode so it can be fitted and not rush.

    • @second1387

      I am sure that season 2 will adapt all the way to Alabasta. Loguetown arc will be much shorter since Smoker already know what Luffy looks like (as seen in season 1). They would definitely cut down all the fillers and padding that the anime has (especially Alabasta). They can even include some future moments like episode 151 where we see some other warlords as well as the fleet admiral which can possibly added in the last episode in order to keep the suspense and remind everyone how big the world of One Piece is

      honestly it's not the worst thing in the world if the characters in one piece age more than in the anime. if it takes 12 years then makeup and effects should be able to cut it down to significantly less, even if it's still more than just the 3ish years of the manga. luffy being called, for example, 23 and looking 27 isn't so bad

    A few months ago the actor for Usopp had a CZcams video on the CZcams channel called “still watching Netflix” where he answered fan mail and said season 2 would have around 50 episodes, but then again he also said they would be heavily “Usopp-driven”, and he was generally joking a lot in that video, so we should probably take that with a huge grain of salt.

    The Alabasta arc can be easily condensed and fit into just 3 episodes. There is a bunch of walking around in the desert from point A to B to C etc and a lot of different cities and locations (Katorea, Erimalu, Yuba, Rainbase, Nanohana, Alubarna and more) that could be merged together or even skipped for convenience, since some of them are visited only briefly. Also, the fights would be much shorter compared to the source material, just like in season 1. I honestly believe that Alabasta can work with only 3 episodes. As far as the rest goes: 1 ep Loguetown, 1 ep Reverse Mt & Whiskey Peak, 1 ep Little Garden and 2 ep Drum Island (every main character gets a 2 ep arc), would be just fine also, as long as they don't try to shoehorn something else in there. I'm more concerned about the quality of the episodes tbh, since things get much crazier in the Grand Line (new powers and abilities, new races and creatures, new locations and climates). The casting has been great though, so far 👍

    • @second1387
      @second1387 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Aarika101 You're thoughts are almost similar to mine. Here's the sequence of how I think will suit in an 8-episode format:
      1 -> Loguetown + Ending at where the crew passed Reverse Mountain where a cliffhanger will happen when the story showed a mysterious large whale
      2 -> Twin Capes (Laboon Backstory) + Whole of Whiskey Peak [They can also include an additional Garp-Koby storyline where they will show us how they will enter the Grand Line through the Calm Belts]
      3 -> Little Garden
      4 - 5 -> Drum Island (pretty much how Nami's arc in season 1 went through)
      6 - 8 -> Alabasta
      Here's my reasons why I think of this:
      - Entering the Reverse Mountain and discovering a giant whale is the first major checkpoint in the first saga of the Grand Line. So having it at the ending of episode 1 will be the best choice.
      - Little Garden is suitable for episode 3. One of the LA-only things I liked is where they do the opening title that is themed to someone that is a main focus in that episode with the theme music playing at the start of an episode. So if they will do an opening title in episode 3, and if they will theme the title to the main villain (Mr. 3) then it is a cool detail to put it in the third episode because of Mr. 3's hair.
      - I believe Alabasta can fit in three episodes since I think they will condense and remove some traveling-the-desert moments and pretty much a short adventure and then followed by major fights.
      - The ending of episode 2 and the ending of the season 2 finale (episode 8) will have a cool parallel. Episode 2 will end where Miss All Sunday shows up in the Going Merry, and Episode 8 will end where the same person will show up but as a different identity (Nico Robin) which will make people interested in her at the next season
      Apologies for the long reply😅😅😅

    i don’t think it’s cause for concern at all. netflix cast announcements are usually done at about 3-6 people at a time, periodically for a few months. for season one, we got the five straw hats in november 2021. in march 2022 we got shanks, arlong, garp, helmeppo, koby and buggy. then in June we got most of the syrup village and baratie casting. and then over the next year it was random characters being added to the cast every few months.
    the fact that after 2 days we have most of the first of the baroque works members, crocus and dorry and broggy, it’s clear they’re just announcing the early major characters first. we will get to alabasta.

We can expect the same to happen in S2 of the live action. Also, just because they revealed 4 cast members(6 actually, Dory and Broggy were also revealed) doesn’t mean anything. We are likely to get more reveals as time progresses. With Dr. Kureha/Smoker/Croc as the final big reveal. Conflicted because pacing-wise it would probably be better to have Alabasta be Season 3 to dedicate more time to telling the story, and I don't mind waiting...the real issue, however, is the actors aging. Many of the strawhat actors are already around 30 (Nami's 31). If the pacing's too slow then nevermind time skip, we might not even get to learn that the One Piece is reeeeeeeal before actors get too old or get other commitments and drop out of the show.

    Whe don't know If they would make whisky peak. They could just move the characters introductions to other arks like reverse mountain and little garden
    This is how I would make it
    Ep1 Logue town with part of reverse mountain
    Ep2 the rest of Logue town with arival at Littlegarden
    Ep3 Little Garden
    Ep4-5 Drum Island
    EP 6-8 Alabasta. If they cut a lot of the desert they could make the ark in 3 episodes.
    Wisky Peak is fun but besides the introductions of Robin, 5 and valentine and the Vivi Reveal nothing realy important happened. Those things can easely be moved to reverse mountain or to little garden. Maiby even to Drum Island to give that ark more antagonists. In Alabasta there are so many things that can be cut or shorten. They need in season 3 to have a full season for Jaya, Skypea maiby even for Long Ring Long Land just becouse the sets for Skypea will be super expensive. It would be pretty great if they finish season 3 with the Aokiji meating at the end of Jaya so that they could have a full season for Water Seven and Enies Loby in season 4. In season 5 I would put Triller Bark, Sabaody and Amazon Lily endying with Luffy finding about Ace's execution.
    Season 6 Impel Down, Marineford and the post Marineford flashbacks. Ending with Luffy ringing the bell and 3d2y message whyle showing everybody starting training.

    I have to say that even if we don't get the Alabasta Arc itself in Season 2, it would be so worth the wait if we get Alabasta, Jaya and the entirety of Skypiea all in Season 3. I mean, it's not ridiculous to think about when if all of Season 3 is the Skypiea Saga, 80% most definitely would be nothings but Skypiea if the Alabasta Saga isn't done by then. And adding Alabasta to Jaya and Skypiea in Season 3 would make the season feel longer and feel like it has more content and story to it. I, for one, wouldn't complain as right after all of that is the Water 7 Saga, which, in my opinion, is the best Saga in the whole story.

    I already said right after watching Season One, that the series will go on like this…
    Season Two:
    Episode 1 - Logue Town
    Episode 2 - Reverse Mountain/Laboon & Crocus
    Episode 3 - Whisky Peak
    Episode 4 & 5 - Little Garden
    Episode 6, 7 & 8 - Drum Island to Alabasta
    Maybe we‘ll skip Whisky Peak and they‘ll rewrite some of the Baroque Works/Alabasta characters into Laboon, Drum and Little Garden…
    We‘ll probably meet Mr. 2 at the end of Episode 8 and then head on to Alabasta.
    Season Three will be exclusively Alabasta, all 8 episodes the Alabasta Arc.
    Season Four will cover Skypiea and then probably move onto Water 7, finishing off in Episode 8 (S4E8) with the fight between Luffy and Usopp or with Franky or with Robin being captured or something like that, so that Season Five will start with Enies Lobby and then go on to Thriller Bark and close off with Sabaody…
    Season Six will then pick up with Amazon Lily/Marineford/3D2Y and via Sabaody continue to Fishman Island…
    Maybe we‘ll even see Punk Hazard in Season Six which would tease and introduce Dressrosa/Doflamingo for Season 7…
    Season Seven obviously would entirely cover Dressrosa.
    Season Eight goes on to Zou and Whole Cake Island…
    Season Nine would entirely be Wano Kuni, while Season Ten would begin with Egghead/Future Island for the first two or three episodes and then cover whatever comes after it, maybe Elbaf.
    Either Season 10 or Season 11 would finish the entire series. Maybe with 10 episodes in Season 10…

    I never expected Arabasta to completely finish in season 2. In fact, the most dramatic end to the season would be the cliffhanger of Luffy’s first defeat against Crocodile since it leaves an urgency for the audience that makes them want to come back to see the resolution. A lot of Netflix series end seasons on cliffhangers like that. My biggest worry is that they don’t even get to Arabasta at all

    It would be better for them to pace it out more and have alabasta be in season 3. The finale for season 2 could be drum kingdom.

    • @second1387
      @second1387 Před 2 měsíci

      I think it's not a really great decision to do that. The season will mainly be focused on Vivi and the Baroque Works, so having the season ending at Drum Island which the crew just took side quest to find a doctor for Nami will result in losing the build-up feels for Alabasta. Some characters will also feel pointless too. Like Usopp will only have a moment in Little Garden and that's it. Sanji will also don't have that many moments too. Zoro will have a moment in Whiskey Peak but then his aura will go downhill if the season ends in Drum Island. If they will truly end in Drum Island then I expect the showrunners to change how the plot will run

    I can see half of Alabasta being the first half of season 3 and the second half being all of Skypiea witch might be for the best because Skypiea isn't a strong enough arc to be an entire season and might kill the live action if they even attempt it.

    To answer the question at the end, why does it have to be only eight episodes a season? Instead of making us wait 4-5 years before we see the end of the Alabasta saga, wouldn't it make more sense to just add an extra 2 or 3 episodes to the season instead of restraining the writers to only 8? Netflix already knows its going to be a success so why restrain the One Piece team?

    They're not going to literallycopy the anime. Like season 1, they'll cut a lot of uninportant things and change everything a bit. So I think they can fit it all in 8 episodes or they might add a few so maybe like 10 episodes

    I am convinced that the live action either ends at Alabasta or at Skypea.
    Season 2 will not unlikly end after Choppers recruitment and the emotional far well from Dr Kureha. Season 3 will be the rest of the Alabasta arc with the groups goodbye to Vivi. Maybe something of an 2 parter. Chopper alone will eat a big amount of the budget and I want them to make it good if possible like many others. For that I am willing to accept season 2 and 3 to have 6 episodes each if needed.

    I feel like assuming that season 2 will be the same length as season 1 is a bit of a stretch as the cast and crew are big fans of the series and want to do it right and will most likely be advised by oda himself once again the crew of the live action even released a statement say the budget of season 2 is double season ones and if you remember correctly each episode of season 1 was said to cost the same as an entire season of game of thrones which is impressive so double that will be amazing and as for episodes we'll since louge town already has a set that they can just add to it won't take long and we may only need a episode for both it and the entering of reverse mountain and no filler in the way it means the can start episode two arriving on the top of the mountain and entering the grandline meaning by episode twos end we'll most likely be leaving for whisky peak which will be an episode then lil garden will be a 1 episode drum island 2 episodes and alabasta can be 6 with a total of 10 or 12 episodes total cause why stick with 8 episodes a season every season

    LONG COMMENT INCOMING + SPOILERS:
    I think the second season must end with Drum Island. We would all love to see the intriguing Alabasta politics, but it would be terribly unwise on the showrunner's part. Admitting we get rid of the filler episodes of the anime, we're left with 32 episodes - leading up to the Alabasta arc, of 20 minutes each, to adapt in 8 (or 10) episodes of an hour. That is roughly 3 anime episodes per live action episode. And for the various events and characters we've already been promised up to today's cast reveal, it is utterly unrealistic to expect more. Smoker, Dragon, Laboon, Dorry and Broggy on Little Garden, Chopper, the Baroque Works characters and their demon fruit abilities, the sakura explosion at the end of Drum Island, the possible participation of Jaime Lee Curtis and the paycheck she deserves...etc. All of that will cost money. Insane amounts of it. And that is without the ships, sets and existing casting salaries. So if we are to get good writing and pacing, this is the best possible course of action:
    Ep 1: Logue Town. Ep 2: Reverse Mountain (Laboon).
    Ep 3: Whiskey Peak - the crew arrives, Zoro vs Baroque Works, Mr 5 and Miss Valentine get introduced, Vivi's secret is revealed and Mr 9 gets beaten to protect her.
    Ep 4: Whiskey Peak - Nami and Igaram speak of Alabasta, Zoro protects Vivi, Zoro vs Luffy, Vivi explains her situation, Igaram dies, Robin and Mr 0 get introduced. Mr 3 is seen. The crew departs.
    Ep 5: Little Garden - Sanji looks for food, Luffy and Vivi meet Dorry, Nami and Ussop meet Broggy. They fight for the first time. Everyone but Ussop and Luffy get captured by Mr 3. The giants have a second duel and the episode ends with Luffy screaming at the sky and stuck because of Dorry's doing.
    Ep 6: Little Garden - Sanji speaks to Mr 0 and gets an eternal pose, Luffy and Ussop fight Mr 3, Mr 5 and miss Valentine, which takes up most of the episode. Ussop shines in this precise one. The crew gets going.
    Ep 7: Drum Island - Nami falls ill. Sanji tries to treat her, but fails. We get a little storm sequence before arriving on Drum. Wapol gets introduced and gets forgotten. Dalton, Chopper and Kureha get introduced. We get some of their flashback stories via Dalton, while Luffy tries to get Sanji and Nami to Doctorine.
    Episode 8: Drum Island - Nami, Sanji, Luffy get treated. They meet Chopper. Vivi and Dalton get some character development. We get Hiluluk's flashback story. Wapol comes in, fights against Luffy and Chopper. They win and bond. The episode ends with two things: Chopper joins the crew with Dr Kureha who provokes the sakura explosion, and we get a sneak peak at Ace's character.
    Notice I haven't mentioned Smoker, who will probably take up Garp's place as the good cop and we cannot forsee what other exclusive content may be added. So, yes. No Alabasta arc might be for the best.
