The 24 turbo premium is fantastic. Love this car, just bought it Dec 23. Handles nice, great acceleration

Underrated. Just bought a Carbon turbo and compared to my 2022 Mazda3 AWD Premium it feels much more expensive, and I loved that car. The 2.5T has monstrous torque that suits the CX-5. I actually prefer the previous generation Mazda interior other than the new Bose is way better.

Got a premium 3 weeks ago, for some reason driving in traffic is not a headache anymore, almost fun even.

When you fold the back seat remove the headrest and they will fold flat

Looking at one of these...just trying to stay away from cylinder deactivation and would prefer higher efficiency from the turbo. Around GA, it will likely stay around 23 mpg which is average for a 4cyl turbo engine of this power level.

Our 2024 Turbo Signature arrives May 6th so of course I have seen numerous videos and I’m already half way through reading the manual. ( with the anticipation of a 10 year old at Christmas 😂 ) I’m upgrading from my 2019 50th anniversary Mazda 3 ( which i absolutely love) because ,as a senior , I am simply finding it too low to the ground.Getting in and out has become more and more frustrating /painful. I am curious as to why nobody speaks about the option of shifting to manual mode which obviously allows for more control and possible quicker acceleration. What about the Mazda Connect services ? Free for only 2 years then a fee is charged after that ? ( remote start in Canada is a must ) You can’t even add a third party remote start ! The only other gripe I have is that the sub woofer is bolted to the spare tire : this and the speaker wire connection need to be removed before taking out the spare.
I agree with your comparison to the CX 50 in that it’s really up to your preference of style and size ( everything else is practically the same. ) Personally , I don’t like the dash and vent design of the CX 50 .The design and body panels of the CX 5 blows away anything else on the market in its class.

Im 6'2 and i dont get your seating position. My seat is more forward with my legs at 90 degrees to the pedal. This isnt a sedan. My son is 6 ft 1 and sits fine behind me without me doing any adjustments

My daily is a 2019 CX5 thinking of upgrading to a 2024 turbo premium, mazda has this brand loyalty thing down really well. Its a great daily that pairs well to my GR supra but keeps driving fun.

Have you found any connectivity issues with wireless Apple CarPlay (I assume it’s in the Premium)? It’s inconsistent in my Signature Turbo.

I’m not sold on the 50. The 5 just looks better and I’m guessing it is more comfortable with the multi link

Wound like to see an option to black out chrome lower window trim (lose the hockey stick) and to order blackened out emblems. I will chrome delete my own car using 3M 2080 Black Satin Vinyl wrap. Shouldn’t have to though. Wound have ordered with black from the start.

How do you use the sign reading technology for the sign always on your hud and center display? Do you have to purchase that nav chip

Turbo is made by Mazda ...dynamic pressure turbo ...two air inputs with valves that close tighter to deliver turbo pressure at very low RPM's

Are you guys who own this vehicle using regular gasoline or stepping up and paying the premium price for the added horsepower? I’m a bit more frugal, but I would be interested to see the difference in how each power number feels.

    • @tyyroque
      @tyyroque Před 5 měsíci

I use highest octane premium all the time… I use the higher torque and power to pass and get around and through those intermittent jam ups when a bunch of cars bunch together and are stuck at slower speeds of those in front.

Plus, a lot of big hills around here and being able to climb those effortlessly and gain speed if I choose. Like I never started climbing a hill

  • @sunshinecycling

Torque converter is better for daily commuting. Too many cars are putting in dual clutch and paddles shifters. Dual clutch is not a good transmission for daily commuting and paddle shifters for non-track cars is just fucking stupid.

My comment would be if you like driving the Mazda 6 is superior than the cx 5 or cx 50....it is much much more fun to drive. While the Europeans and Japanese are enjoying the 6 we here in N America don't have that opportunity bc it isn't available here, I won't say why...I'm told that Mazda will introduce the 6 in 2025 but I doubt it...I was hoping to get one in '24. I suppose I will keep my 6 signature bc after driving the 5 and 50 it would be going down a level of driving satisfaction...I thought about a German car but fear the maintenance, one more thought the cx 5 is made in Japan the 50 isn't and the verdict on the 50 is still out.

It kinda looks ugly with that long front overhang, pointy snout, chopped off looking rear end, squinty lights and short wheel base. And it's too cramped in the back seat and cargo areas. Lastly, the infotainment interface is horrendous.

Agree with you about the Infotainment.
It’s terrible. I have to repeatedly reconnect Apple CarPlay. The wireless connection simply doesn’t work properly.
