Is the battery health the same for all phones for all? If not, this video is fraud.
@@agarcia4271gaming they are all iPhone 12 which were realised a month ago.
Actually the iPhones don't support 30W charging so it automatically slows down to 20W that's why they're both the same speed
Edit: also even though the mag safe uses 20W adapter it only delivers 15W of power that's why it's considerably slower
Its only supporting 18W i guess thats why all phones are maxed charged at the same time
the new iphone 12 is the only one that supports 30w if i'm not wrong, its the "new" fast charging option

dont buy magsafe. it's useless
@@xiaolongbaoziii it has uses, it isn’t useless, but if you’re looking for speed, definitely buy a wired one.
personally, i use a magsafe charger for when i’m playing games on my phone and charging at the same time, so i don’t block the charging port.
or late at night when the lights are off, instead of fiddling around with my phone trying to find the charging port, i can just pass the phone over the charger and it’ll stick on.
it’s pretty useful, just not for many people. it’s definitely too expensive, i got it as a gift, though, so i can’t complain.

Salute!
I’m more interested to see how a wired usb-c charger compares to MagSafe from 60% charge to 100% and also 80%-100% since all chargers slow to a trickle the more a phone is charged. MagSafe might be just as good, better, or about the same once a phone is at 60-80% to get to 95%, which is the majority of my charging before I leave the house. Also, a lot of people mostly charge overnight and the slow charge saves the battery over time, and when you need to grab your phone waking up, it’s easier to pull off and put back on the MagSafe while groggy. I wonder especially if MagSafe is an improvement on 7.5w Qi charging for that last 30-40% of a charge.
This is the first video I’ve seen of this man but I am going to sub because I can tell he put a lot of effort into this video

Wow! That was an interesting video. I’m glad I stumbled on this video before I bought the MagSafe charger. Thank you for creating the video.
Bro this was a very nice and informative video. Appreciate you taking the time to do it. Yea the MagSafe is convenient and may work out well for those of us that at stuck at a desk all day long. I use a cheep wireless charger and it works fine, it’s not fast but it keeps me charged throughout the day. I also use one for charging overnight. That’s great, because I don’t have to fiddle for the cable at night. Not sure if the MagSafe is worth it when I already have those. Thanks again
I heard that using apples 20W and thrid party 20W like Anker is huge difference. Apples doing something to make it faster and make you buy orginal charger
I think that is true only when using normal USB to LIGHTNING, my girlfriend has an iPhone 8 and a 12W iPad charger and I have a 65W charger (altough the iPhone 8 is limited to drawing only 15W of power). Whenever she uses the iPad charger I always feel the charging goes way faster than my expensive 65w power brick.
But well, when using type c-lightning, things turn sideways.
Thats why I bought it from apple its just 5 bucks more than anker
Who video proves Apple new charger is faster it wasn’t this video 😂
@@cosminpopica no ur wrong. People have done tests and Apples 20W charger charges much faster than ankers 20W charger for the MagSafe
@@EvanReichert would the 20w and mag safe charger be able to charge the iphone 12 mini with 20w of power? or is the mini limited below that? I heard he mini was limited to 12 but i'm not sure if that's still the case if you use the 20w charger with mag safe?
I’m actually glad you made this video. I was thinking of upgrading from my 18w charger but for a two minute difference it’s not worth it
Same ^ this is exactly the test I’ve been looking for ever since Apple announced the new iPhone 12
Is because anker brick says 20w but actually is a 18w
Right , I pre-ordered the iPhone 12 Pro Max and they were saying it fast charges with the 20W adapter and I have the 18W so I was considering it sure as hell won’t anymore tho.
But it came to life from dead so much faster
@@user-dy9zd3jy7l even the 30W was the same speed as the 20W lol what makes you think 2W would make a real difference

And magsafe isn't even more convenient vs. just using a cable, except in the dark or when you're drunk 🥴

It’ll also prolong your charger port
The cables break easily
Lol, I agree with this however I fix phones and electronics for a living, I've had customers that are so scared of scratching the frame of their phones that they'll put a layer of tape around the charge port. Not super common, but I have seen it a few times
Yeah. Future accessories will be cool though.

I feel like the mag safe is more for when you have a nightstand next to your bed and can just set your phone on it when you go to sleep and wake up to 100% charge, I understand you can just plug in your phone to the lightning port but when your extremely tired, it's just 1 less step to do, and you can just set your phone on the mag safe charger.
Thanks for doing this. I was debating getting the MagSafe as an upgrade for my current wireless charger but it’s not an upgrade. I won’t waste my money.

Thanks! Super useful. I think MagSafe is only for the nightstand, so I could drop my phone on it in the dark rather than fiddling with the plug or aligning the older wireless chargers in the dark. Definitely those two tiny 20W cubes and a cable are the way to go if you need speed.
That was what i was thinking aswel
فعلا فعلا انا عند النوم لا استخدم سوى الشحن اللاسلكي
With MagSafe, you always have to flip the switch first before placing your iPhone on the puck.
This ensures maximum charging speed, as suggested by Apple

8:47 ”4 minutes and 1 minute” Hahaha
Just so you know i think you have the setting that tries to protect your battery life by monitoring the usage so that might change how the chargers do
You deserve more than a like. You save a lot of our bucks. Well done and thank you.
Once the battery reaches 80% it slows down to finish before you normally wake up to optimize battery life instead of it charging at 100% for hours
Partially true.. "instead of it charging at 100% for hours" - this is wrong.Onve it reaches full capacity..even if charging brick is powered, no power will be drawn
But you are right on extending battery life by charging at a lower power passively,
iPhones do not support higher than 20w charging, so it was quite a predictable result. Still a great comparison video, especially MagSafe test - 4 hours to fully charge your phone - this must be painful experience.
Great job ,in 2021 u are the man, now i know exactly what i need thanks to you!
Excellent test! Thanks 👍
it is impossible more than 4 hours of charging with the magsafe,my magsafe charges my iphone 12 pro in 45 minutes.there must be a problem with your magsafe or with your block??
Remember guys, the slower the charge generally means less heat generated, which means the battery will physically last longer. My battery is still on 100% battery health, pretty much always keep it in the 20%-80% range and always charge it through MagSafe.
Speed isn’t everything and I don’t know if it’s just your US chargers or what, but there’s no chance MagSafe in the UK charges that slowly…
so never fully charge the battery?
@@Reaper-bl1ye yeah, l-ion batteries don’t like being 100% or 0%, or being used when charging for that matter. For maximum battery longevity the ideal operating window is 40%-80%

Even though MagSafe charges the slowest, I think it's the best option for overnight charging (mostly because everyone leaves their phone alone for 8-10 hours each night anyways)..

What's wrong with using the cable?
@@shaun1463 if using cable,it will more fast in charging.if using magsafe,it more slow than cable.u need to understand that these item have their function and what u need for you in daily use .
MagSafe suffers from inefficiency hence the heat it gives off compared to wired. I found if you use it without a case and have the phone laying screen down the heat can dissipate much better as opposed to how he had it (granted he needed to see the screen for his test).
Oh so heat does actually have a play in this I guess my phone kind of charges faster than his phone maybe because where I live it’s very cold either that or the fact that I bought one not from apple
Thank you for your hard work and effort
Thanks man. Saves me a lot of trouble.
Thank you, you just saved me £39.
Magsafe charges at 15 watts when used with apple's specific 20 watt charger. It will charge at something like 5 or 8 watts with every other brick.
lol, for the first 75% of the battery only though but why even bother if it can't even beat the lightning cable that comes with the phone? Everyone should already have wireless chargers with QI charging so it's kinda pointless to even get the magsafe. Maybe I'm just bias because the only thing that they added to the latest iphone was magnets and a remodel of the iphone 5... It also doesn't make much sense to me to spend 90 bux for magsafe 40 and what 50 for the brick? just to be slower than the lightning cable with an 18w charger lol..
@@phazekiller5701 The upgrade from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 12 was actually a pretty big one. But the upgrade from the 11 pro to the 12 pro was pretty ass lol and btw the 20W power adapter is $19 not $50.
@@alejandroislas4803 I'd say it was huge, it only comes with a cable at the same price if not more. You make it sound like spending hundreds of dollars on these devices isn't a good enough reason to add a way to charge the device in the box. Either way, you still have to get a charging brick that should be a part of the product. The fact it was sold separately is obviously greed considering they didn't discount the price of the items from the box... Also you should go see how big of a change it really is, they won't allow people to repair your device without an apple care insurance you're screwed, I'd only get this device on the next gen plan and get rid of it ASAP. Considering I'm one of those people who like to own the phones they use it's a real blow to my collection since I could never fix it should it break after the 2 years...
Thank you mate I’ve got idea now
Very good testing, have a sub
Here is the issue. If you don’t use Apple’s 20W adapter, you won’t get the full 15W’s of charging with MagSafe charging. Anker’s 20W doesn’t get you to the 15W’s.
I don’t want you to think I’m downplaying your video at all. I just saw that meter hooked up the other day and Apple screwed everyone by forcing them to buy their 20W brick.
