I like watching Jett and his crafty race lines, but it would really be nice to see those two duke it out all year. However, Chase has yet to pass Jett. Honestly, even if he does, can he stay there. Going back to Chase and Eli ..... even though Chase was on his rear wheel a lot, when it had to happen Chase typically put it on the ground. A couple times even when he was leading by a good margin and he basically threw the win away. I am a fan of both, so it will be a fun year if he can get over stupid mistakes. Same for Jett, I think honestly the only way he loses is like he did last weekend. Meaning beating himself. We shall find out!!
@@scott729 I've been saying it over and over, Chase has to sort out his starts. I don't care how good he's riding, he's not beating Jett spotting him 5-6sec every moto. And he's my guy. That's just reality
Chase is a rider. No doubt. When he can keep the front wheel under him, like this weekend. Every rider willl have that 1 day when they feel it and just throw down . Few riders have that feeling ALL the time..
Davy Coombs explained on the Title 24 podcast that they consulted the riders and teams about that section as a safety hazard and everyone knew they were going to shave down the lip so no one would try to huck it. Jett knew this but obviously believed the laws of physics didn't apply to him! Bet he does now.
If I could subscribe again, I would for this video. It's the interesting, technical stuff that you bring sometimes that really opens up the nuances of going fast and winning. Great job!
Always a broiler there...unless it's raining. I was thinking how a night race national would be friggin' awesome and how Hangtown, with this type of track prep(and lotsa lights), would be a great candidate.
If Jett makes it, wow so amazing he’s on another level but when he makes a mistake all the Monday night quarterbacks come out.. why would he risk this, such a rookie mistake.
Pretty interesting different between Sexton on the Honda and now on the KTM. He's always ridden the edge and pushed the limits of traction but seems where he would've tucked the front and crashed, now (with the exception of the 3rd turn spin out) he gets squirrely and doesn't even lose time
We were at a race and there was a hairpin turn with 2, foot deep ruts that went all the way around the corner, as a guy was following another rider in the rut another rider hit him on the rear wheel and the gear shifter entered the back of his boot and went through his calf, I was on the line waiting to race and we were called off the start line for 20 minutes while the guy was carried on top of the bike as a stretcher if you will, the fire brigade had to be called.
would it also be accurate to say the tthe extra braking bumps cause his suspension to rebound quicker and making him push through the jump more than a smooth preload?
Yes as mentioned Mx Sports came to the Honda trailer and asked them about shaving the jump down and in the end it was decided to shave it down. Jett was well aware but just decided to try and do it anyway.
jett was the only one doing it in qualifying. Track officials and other teams(orange) wanted it changed because "safety". Jett still goes for it because big balls and possibly a little crazy!!
I wreck me klx 110 once on big jump and landed on bike and beg went into knees and had to get 7 stitches. Those things are fucking sharp was around 10 years old
Gotta practice learning how to ride the different suspension set ups. Each set up has their pros and cons. Firm and fast is more forgiving when you make mistakes, but it beats you up. Soft and slow more stable and more comfortable, but make a mistake and it's less forgiving. Way easier to blow through the suspension.
This is what the sighting lap is for. You see guys just blasting through and not check anything out. If you have a cool jump or line you were using in qualifying you need to take a second and see if it still exists before you completely wad yourself like this.
Every time Jett finds something they cut it down did several times in sx. When he made it in practice he was coming from outside when he crashed more inside lost momentum? I don't know either sinaro
so DC said a team said it was a little dangerous for the speed so they went around and asked other teams and riders and made a decision and they let the teams and riders then where gonna shave down the lip a little before the moto's so he also did know the lip was a little shorter but hope hes okay.
@@tankeatereven when the announcers were hyping that Vialle was catching Deegs that wasnt entirely true. Once Deegs knew he was coming hot, the lead started yo-yoing whereby Deegs lead would get cut to 3 seconds and then it would go to 3.8 amd then down to 3.2 and up to 3.5 and down to 2.5 and up to 3. So i think Deegs had more and Vialle still had to get close and then had to pass so i am.not sure he would have.
I mean this may be true but deegan would never admit that on the podium. Deegans game is confidence and to admit he crashed cause of pressure from behind would go against that so hard. But tbh i believe Deegan on this so yea
Johnny's analysis as a rider is spot on. With the suspension pushed down like that at the instant it got the bump meant it could only deflect sideways. Frankly I can't imagine any suspension good enough to avoid what happened to him there
No hopper you're wrong the reason jett came up short is after practice KTM seen what jett was doing and demanded the jumps be cut down taking away jetts advantage advantage over the KTM riders its all on title 24
FYI Jett’s 24 wins is not in the same season, it does not count!! If Jett’s comparing his wins being the same as Stew and RC,then did RC go 48 -0 straight motos then???( I don’t remember if his perfect seasons were back to back but you get my point).
His 24-0 seasons were not back to back. The first one occurred in the 2002 season on the 2002 CR 250 R and the second one occurred in the 2004 season award the Honda CRF 450R. Ricky was dominant on anything he rode. It still doesn’t diminish what Jett has accomplished. I don’t understand the hate towards him. Is it because he’s non-American or that he rides a Honda?
@@TheBlueDogMan thank you!! No way, I think Jett is awesome!! I didn’t like him at first cuz all the hype but after seeing the industry hate on him cuz that ja incident I’m rooting for him now. I guess I’m just annoyed at the whole world overhyping everything.
it happens for obvious reasons..why you get a Sight Lap to see anything that is different or just to be aware... they don't do it to cause problems...it is done for safety mainly... 🇨🇦🤓🤟
@@GogahzSfzgnah man, Jett did a slow ass sight lap right before he went for that jump. He made a mistake and crashed as a result. It happens, it’s part of motocross racing.

First I must say.I do not like the click Bate. "Jett needs stitches " Second once again, no mention of trimming the top Of the first hill on the triple that Jett crashed on. Knowing that is what caused him to crash. It is all being hid by anyone covering this. Motorsports politics
Stop swinging from Jet's .... He is not like a video game. Modern tracks are tame, he goes fast. Blah blah Plenty of riders do wild jumps. He is not even close to Stew level.
What this should tell everyone is that Racing is extremely gnarly. Two of the best in the business are not immune to eating shit.
Not even a Jett fan boy but I was out of my seat in fear for Jett when he crashed. I said NO like 10 times. Get well soon Jett!
Fake
Thats the best and simplest explanation of what happened to Jett and Hayden I've seen.
You have to respect the send and jett, always wanting to be the best, you can’t knock that!
This is the sexton we need to see all year, like james said “ riding with authority “

The laws of physics still don't apply to him.
Great eye and insight. Helped me think about my suspension settings.
Great to hear!

Wow, thanks!
What a race to see in person for the first time at Hangtown and out doors. It was friggen hot though😉

Very much agree. Don't know of a more entertaining outdoor weekend. Good to see those KTM boys get some glory.
Good video yes keep them coming!

Is it true that Jett did that jump in qualifying.. then track membera cut down tha lip for the race that Jett crash on ?
Yes but every rider was aware of the track change, before the race.

@skylineenduro right. They must do a sight lap correct?
@chrisbuehler6868 yeah he would've seen how much it was shaved down on the site lap but he was also told before hand
I believe Rc has the win record of 31 consecutive race wins
Ok work
With changing the track so that jump shouldn't be done is like changing quads so james cant jump them.
The injury is on his tigh, so above the boot/knee. Foot peg cut through his trousers, not his boot.
I wreck me klx 110 once on big jump and landed on bike and beg went into knees and had to get 7 stitches. Those things are fucking sharp was around 10 years old
Are you related to Johnny Bravo?😁🏄
Good job Johnny, as usual. Hey, are you going to Ironman or Redbud this year?
Maybe both
@@Johnny_Hopper Cool, me too. Maybe we can sit by a fire and eat Costco cookies, well you have cookies, I will probably just stick with beer.
Deegan did a 900... Watch his hip rotation, he does 2 1/2 rotations. Why I thought you called out Tony Hawk, you know, Tony is known for the 900.

is there a picture of jetts leg?
RV said DNGR crashed because of the bike leaning too steep for a kick. Inertia swung to to outside.
I heard they changed up the takeoff for the moto.
Do we know when Tomac, Webb, and Rokzen is coming back?

In the podium interview they asked Deegan if the pressure was why he crashed and he said no- it was a suspension change they missed.
