You can look at Lions turnaround being when they started drafting offensive linemen in 1st round. For any of the older fans, we know they never use to have good offensive line including during the Barry Sanders days. They finally got smart and invested in the line and its paid off

I am so proud of this team and what they've become. I've seen 0-16, I've seen a great passing game let down by terrible defense, I've seen the one playoff game we had in all that time go down the drain.

Do that many people in UK watch american football or is it like 2 percent of people?
@MMk-me1xt It used to be pretty big here in the 80s because it was on one of only 4 TV channels that we had at the time. A lot of the older generations used to watch the Bears, Dolphins and the Redskins for instance.
Then there were many years where it was on the fringes of the sporting consciousness. I used to stay up until 4am on a Monday night watching the MNF on channel 5.
A lot of people have played Madden here though, so I think that's got something to do with it too.
It's probably more popular here now than ever I would say. A friend of mine who never watched before started watching in 2021 as he wanted to follow the 49ers - who own our football team Leeds United now - and now he watched every week, so something's working there.
I'd probably compare it to F1 becoming more popular in the US.

After going 3-13-1 in 2021with Dan Campbell, most people gave up on him and the team but not their loyal fans or management
In his 2nd season, Hard Knocks decided to cover their preseason. They ended up losing 6 of their first 7 games but many were close games
Their loyal fans and management still didn't give up on him. They ended up winning 8 of their last 10 games for that season
Then we all know what happened this season...so happy for their lifelong fans and us new fans from other States...GO LIONS!!!

So everyone in Michigan (well, maybe not Sparty fans) have been riding high this past month, and it's wonderful. My brother in-law got me into the NFL last year. I had watched an old season of Hard Knocks featuring Detroit Lions. That made it no brainer for when I had to choose a team to support.
The passion from both coach Campbell, all the coaches, and of course the entire squad made me select the Lions.
