You know what, this is pretty interesting for a time to time solution. Like you say, not everyday way to work but awesome solution to get some shit done, keep costs down and to maybe be able to park inside if/when possible in a higher parkade.

Definitely see your point for not having a rack... If you use it enough tho I would bolt some anchors to each corner or the roof. Simple cheap and less hassle in the long run

could dent the roof if you strap it down too hard. also pulling on the fender is kinda sketchy. I'd just get a roof rack for long term, but this is a very smart short term solution.
