Mitch - securing a ladder for transport

Getting a tall ladder to a work site requires special attention to how it is strapped in. Mitch makes it look easy - but there are key details. Make sure your strap is in good condition. Start with the long strap secure to the mount rail and snug to the ladder. Wrap over the ladder, around a ladder rung, down around the mount - then feed the long end of the strap thru the ratchet. Keeping the web flat as it goes into the ratchet will allow it to tighten properly. Give the ladder a shake to make sure it is secure.
Check all mounted items each time you stop the vehicle. If you notice movement while driving pull over at a safe location and check your load.
