That would be a HUGE step forward for the industry. We are so far behind other industries with diagnostic capabilities. Emerson creates the ClimateTalk network in the 1990’s that would have done just that. And some manufacturers do use it like Daikin and AO Smith but to many of the other major manufacturers are resisting the change. They want to be proprietary and non-universal. It would be a better industry no doubt.
