    I'm always craving these, because I usually eat them in Puerto rico (but i live in NY). The only difference is that we usually have powered sugar on top. I decided to give your recipe a try and it was EVERYTHING!!!! So so easy and super delicious. Thank you!

    Making puff pastry is such a pain in the butt, frozen is always the way to go... for me, anyway. We'll be going to Florida this summer, let's hope I can find them at a good Cuban bakery.

    • @myAngel2009
      @myAngel2009 Před 2 lety

      @Maggie Melbourne I assume by original you meant homemade. One of the reasons it’s a pain is because it’s time consuming. In addition to that you have to make sure your kitchen is cool or it will take even longer because you have to put it in the fridge more often (after each fold instead of every other fold). After making my own I went back to buying it. I believe Pepperidge Farm was used in the video which is good but if you can get all butter puff pastry the result will be even better.

      @deborahluceno9078 Před 7 lety +1

      Checking in with you, Mari. Any updates on the restaurant? I live just north of Dallas and there is a shortage of Cuban deliciousness. I moved here from Miami in 2014 and I miss my food (second only to family and friends)!!! There's a cuban bakery (read: one) in the metroplex and it's quite good, but at $12 for 4 pastelitos, it's a special occasion kind of splurge. Let me know if you open the restaurant, I've got customers for you! Y te prendo una velita for them winning lottery numbers for you.
      Thank you for the recipe, Julie, these look amazing and I can't wait to make them tomorrow for an ugly sweater party. Time to make these Texan ladies pastelito addicts. I mean fans.

    Thank you for this video. Here in Northern California there are no bakeries that make these. In Southern California those lucky Angelenos have Portos Bakery which make these, but still not as good as the Miami Cuban bakeries. When in Miami my favorite Cuban bakery is Plaza Bakery. I will be going to Plaza Bakery the first week of April 2020. I will try your recipe, gracias.
