Since you mentioned Argentina in this video.... these pastelitos are very similar to "Pastelitos de Membrillo" which are very common here in my country. I have looked for a handful of different recipes and always come back to this one. The extra additions to the cream cheese definitely a level up on flavor. The only thing I do different is I'm combined this with another recipe where when they come out of the oven you brush them with a simple syrup made of equal parts sugar and water. And then because I'm extra I sprinkle sparkling sugar over the top so it has a glossy crunchy sugar coat. I get these requested all the time when I do potlucks

Hi. I really enjoy your channel. I am Brazilian and guava paste is a very popular dessert served with cheese. But, there is always a but, cheaper guava paste has chayote (Sechium edule), xuxu in Portuguese, mixed into it. The lighter and sort of transparent it looks, the more chayote mixed in and the blander the flavor. Good guava paste is dark red and totally opaque. Even better if it has chunks of the outer layer of the fruit mixed in - the one you used seemed to have the chunks, but was very transparent. Keep on the great work though.

Omg!!! I don’t think I’ve ever clicked on a video so fast! Lol I’m half Cuban but live in Texas and it’s so hard to find places that sell pastelitos!!! I’ve always been intimidated to make these because of the puff pastry.
But now I don’t have to wait for my parents to bring us boxes from Miami haha I can make them at home!!!! 🎊🍾🎉

Hi! Just as an FYI, Vicky bakery here in Miami will deliver their pastelitos frozen, you keep them in the freezer until ready to use then you just bake them up. Porto's (the famous Cuban bakery in Cali) does that too 😋

Here in Brasil we love the combination of cheese (especially cheese from Minas Gerais) and guava paste (goiabada), we call it “Romeu e Julieta” (Romeo and Juliette) flavor. There are pastéis (not the same as pastelitos), folhados (like pastelitos), cookies, cakes, mousses, brigadeiros, ice cream, cheese cake, tapioca, seriously everything with this flavor! It’s soooo good ❤️ We also mix cheese with doce de leite (or dulce de leche in spanish) with cheese in some regions and is delicious!

Because I love guava, I bought one of those cans of guava paste. I didn't know what I was going to do with it but up here in midstate New York, we don't get a lot of guava products. Whenever I got off the plane in Hawaii, I'd go to the hotel, unpack and I wouldn't head for the beach, I'd head to the grocery store for 100% guava juice! ANYway, a few years after buying this paste it was reaching the end of its expiration date so I just opened it and tried it ... I think with crackers and cream cheese. Ugh, you're right. On its own ... not so good. Can't wait to try this!

Where my dad lives there is a little store I think it is owned by a couple from either Venezuela or Perú I don't quite remember, but they make some sweet rolls that are unbelievable, they have a variety of them with chocolate chips, or filled with dulce de leche, the simple one but the ones I love like crazy are ones that are coated in shredded toasted coconut and the ones filled with guayaba, I don't like neither but those rolls are from heaven
