  • Leicestershire’s first net-zero in operation school is a showstopper! Embodied carbon is reduced through a timber frame, M&E features have been left exposed to enrich STEM learning for pupils, and advanced modelling at design stage has enabled the school to reach net-zero for both regulated and unregulated sources of energy.
To reach net-zero in operation, sustainability features include:
    ▪️ EPC A+
    ▪️ BREEAM Excellent
    ▪️ 381m2 photovoltaic array,
    ▪️ Air source heat pumps
    ▪️ A cross-laminated, prefabricated timber frame
We're also using our innovative Energy Synergy system to monitor energy usage over three years, enabling us to close any performance gaps and make the building as energy efficient as possible.
Watch the video to hear about the project from Leicestershire County Council, OWLs Academy Trust, the school's Headteacher and our team.
