This performance took place on my 2nd birthday... watching it now 23 years on as an adult is special. What a fucking setlist this is!! Thanks for posting.
Dude! this was my recording! With permissionfro their tour manager, I used a VHSC camcorder with a t-30 tape set to SLP from the balcony. the video feed went to a VCR, which had a stereo line in from the soundboard below. Sadly, Spiritualized kept that VHS, so all I had was the backup tape in the camcorder. The mic on the camcorder was monaural, so sound quality isn't the greatest. I also videoed 2 nights earlier in Milwaukee, just to the right of the soundboard with the same setup. Spiritualized, kept that VHS also. They told me they'd copy them and send them back to me. Never did. I even included postage paid envelopes with my address on them!
wow so crazy!! thanks for sharing x
Wow. Really.
Should have asked for soundboard if you were involved with them
Will Carruthers’ book seems clear on why that would be… Good Luck & Bestest to you
This is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for posting this. I first saw Spiritualized in 1992 at Northern Illinois University when they were touring with The Jesus and Mary Chain and Curve. I was at this show and several other Chicago appearances. Consistently over an over 30 year time frame one of the most unique and talented live bands I've ever seen. The Metro is still my favorite place to see a show.
Thank you so much for posting this gem 💜
I was there, main floor, left rear, not long after turning 33... had to drag a couple work buddies to the show after seeing them a couple years earlier at the Whiskey-A-Go-Go... their live performances were really like no other.
Attended this…band superb as usual. I’d had a bit too much of whatever and by ‘Electric Mainline’ the lights went out. My friend walked me downstairs where Metro staff were very accommodating, but inquisitive as to what was wrong. In the rebound haze either Spiritualized crew or members of Acetone who were the openers started grilling me about where they could cop because “it’s Jason’s birthday and we’d really like to get him some”.
What a find!
This is an astonishing gig from a band at the peak of their powers
This is unbelievably good
this show was 7 years before i was born… wish i could have seen it

It was a blast!
