The area straddles Minobu-cho and Ichikawa-Misato-cho, and there are villages scattered in the mountains. The Chubu-Odan Expressway and JR Minobu Line run almost parallel to each other, but they pass through a tunnel at a lower altitude than the prefectural highway. This prefectural road seems to mainly function as a main road for daily life connecting villages, but as its name suggests, the Shibirenko Park Line on the north side is a prefectural road that includes Shibirenko, a natural mountain lake. It also functions as an access road to the natural park, and has been improved to a two-lane road.

中部横断自動車道が開通する前、富士川沿いを通るメインルートの国道52号の他、身延線沿いを通る県道9号ルートは迂回で通ったことがありますが、こちらの県道ルートはさすがに知らなかったです。少し狭くて険しく、集落を通るくらいで何も無いですが、一応は市川大門まで抜けられるのですね。
